Pricy but EXTREMELY good! I spend about $ 40 usually everything I go, but it’s good every single time.

I’ve been craving Venezuelan food ever since I tried Gusto Gourmet and I found this food truck off of Unilocal with pretty good ratings and usually those are the authentic stuff. It took awhile to order because everything was in Spanish and the communication was horrible, but I understand that it IS a Venezuelan food truck. The food was dried everything was dried, we had –Sifrina Arepas —(2⁄5) Shredded chicken, very bland but creamy and the chicken was dried. It was stuffed in a corn pocket sandwich which is an arepas. –Pabellon Arepas —(1⁄5) Shredded beef, very bland, very dried also in a sandwich made of corn. –Empanadas(chicken, shredded beef, and ham and cheese) they were exactly the same thing as the Arepas but in an empanada. The ham and cheese was the only thing I probably like and I didn’t eat it till the next day. When they made it, it was literally a stick of mozzarella cheese in there so they never had melted the inside. I wouldn’t give it another try, it’s one thing if it’s dried because maybe it was overcooked, but it also was bland! Mehhhhh.

This place has been around for such a long time and I love it. I’m Colombian so I can’t give you expert Venezuelan opinions. The arepas are yummy! The empanadas are hit and miss — seems when the ladies are there the food is yummy and hot. I’ve gone twice and been served by a young guy and the food was not so great. The price is a little on the higher end for a truck stop but I’m totally ok paying $ 5 for a very yummy stuffed arepa.

Cachapa! I had a cachapa in Dallas and have been craving it since I got back to Houston. On a whim, came to this food truck to try it out. We ordered the cachapa and the carne asada arepa. My co-worker and husband really liked the arepa. I loved the cachapa. It was a lot thinner than the one I had in Dallas but it was still good. Deducted 1 star bc it took foreverrrrrrrrrr to get our food. I may be exaggerating but it felt like we waited almost 30 minutes before we got our food.

Just an absolute MUST. The Arepas are always fresh and there is a wide variety to choose from! Rena Pepiada is a must try and trying the cubanita today! Friendly staff working and always a good choice for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night!

We had arepas and a few tacos. The arepas had beef fajita and Venezuelan cheese and was excellent. It was our first brush with Venezuelan food and we loved it. The tacos were great as well, full of meat and delicious. We liked the beef fajita taco more as its flavor was a bit different from the fajita that we usually get in Houston.

Can’t believe I haven’t been in so long! But went back earlier today and tried the Jugo de Parchita(Passion Fruit juice), and it was jaw dropping amazing. Just like they tasted back in the beaches in Venezuela. Also had the empanada de queso, and it’s texture was on point. I think I talked about the Cachapa in my other review, but they’re still awesome! So I recommend the Jugo de Parchita for your drink!

This place does not represent what Venezuelan food is about. They lack some of those flavored that distinguishes Venezuelan cuisine from others. Whoever said that the tequeños, hamburgesas are great, have never tried real Venezuelan food. Last time I ate at this place, I got sick! Never again!

The food was not good. I’m not an expert in Venezuelan food, but clearly the patacones which I ate was not very tasty and rather heavy in the stomach. On top of that the service was not very friendly.

I visited the food truck on 290 and Spring Cypress road. I guess there isn’t a listing for this location yet so I will write the review here: DELICIOUS and super affordable. I am SO happy that there is Venezuelan(and South American) food now in Cypress for my lunch. The couple that helped me was friendly and fast service. Perfect for my lunch hour. Thanks so much you guys now have another fan! Gracias por traer su deliciosa comida a Cypress, en el 290 y Spring Cypress. Me da gusto que podre volver durante mi ora de almuerzo. Volvere con mas amistades de por seguro :)

Well done Venezuelan food. They have operated out of this fold truck for years and I’m surprised they have not grown faster cause the food is definitely on point. My favorite arepa is the reina pepiada, love the cachapas(the cheese is exactly as it should be) and the tequenos remind me of school lunches in venezuela. Check them out.

Wow! Delicious! I will definitely come back a lot. The truck is located in the parking lot of the corner gas station at Fondren and Westheimer. It’s been open since 2008 so you know it’s good.

$ 7.57 for heaven in your MOUFFFFF! Those patacones(with beef) are super patayummmmmn! So basically it’s 2 massive plantain flattened and DEEP fried to golden perfection. Plantain buns then have an orgy with flavorful shredded beef, tomatoes, cheese and other devine… stuff? Any who, give em a try!

Tequeños are great! Prices are good, service is also very good and most important the food was yummy! The pequeños were good, the soup was VERY good, the patacones excellent and the cachapa with cheese was also great! I was also surprised they have Mexican food too. I will definitely try their tacos next time!

I lived in Venezuela for 18 years so am very familiar with the food. Excellent arepas(corn cakes with various stuffings), platanos(plantains) with white cheese-try the yoyo, carne mechada(shredded beef), tequen~os(cheese wrapped with dough) and deep fried, all delicious! Not much ambience, it’s a food truck in a parking lot of a gas station :-) I have been on many occasions with friends that grew up in Venezuela and no one was disappointed.

The first time I came to Houston this truck was the first place I went to eat Arepas and every time I go out I go there since. Cheo(The owner) is a great guy. I always get the Reina Pepiada or the Sifrina with a Malta. You can find a few Colombian dishes too and tacos. Besides fast food you can also get a few different Venezuelan things like snacks and sodas. Cheo will even bring the truck to any even that you may want to hire him for or invite him to sell his food.

Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this truck yet. It’s my go-to for Venezuelan arepas!!! Mmmmmm. I have had a coupe different ones but my favorite is still the Reina Pepiada and I get the Maracuya juice to wash it down. Also, when I’m the mood for something different or really hungry, I’ll get the Cachapa(made out of corn and stuffed with cheese. This place is in the parking lot of the A&A food mart and there’s no seating. Oh and it’s cash only! Open till like 4 am so that’s always a plus for those late night arepas cravings.

I am Venezuelen and am always looking for comida tipical de Venezuela. This food truck is very good and recommend it. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it doesn’t taste like my mother’s cooking and wish the areas with shredded meat wasn’t so oily. Other than that, great food. I have even has the pabellon, only served during lunch hours, and I loved it. They take credit cards!!!

Taco Truck? Yes… I said it. This place has the eats that will hit the spot for a cheap price(and without that not so good morning after feeling other taco trucks hit you with). Located a block east of Fondren on Westheimer at an independent gas station Sabor Venezolano serves up the best arepas I ever tasted in Houston. The arepas run about $ 4 each. Believe me when I say you get a lot for your money. The maize dough is awesome as the bread is really crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. There are a few things you can pick to fill the arepa up with. I ususally sound like a fool when I order in spanish but hey I do try my best… The most ordered items among my friends and I are: — Reina Pepiada(like a chicken salad of sorts) — Pelua(Slow cooked beef w/Cream Cheddar Cheese dip with spices) — Maracayara(ham, cheese lettuce and tomato) — Gringa(Ham and cheese only) And to wash it down? You can order a Coca Cola with real sugar! It looks like it is imported from Mexico. There really is something about a glass bottle of coke that has sugar cane… eff that high fructose corn sugar or as it is called«Corn Sugar» now. The service is really great and the people who work the truck are really awesome. They do the best they can if there is a clear language barrier and often times the other patrons help out. On weekends they are open till 4:30am! Sometimes I wish Houston had a better street food culture. Nom nom nom…
