What brought me to this place was a $ 20 for $ 45 Groupon; turned out Sharky’s was not bad at all! It felt weird that the restaurant was widely empty on a Saturday night, but I found nothing wrong in the service or the food. Service was standard, and foods came out in a timely manner. Two friends and I shared the fried tomatoes and okra topped with crab meat and Chipotle Aioli, which was yummy, and the portion was just right as an appetizer. Presentation was nice, too! For entrees, I had the St. Charles Catfish — broiled and covered in spicy cream sauce with bay shrimp and Andouillie Sausage, served with seasoned rice and onion rings, which I substituted for the mixed veggie for an extra $ 1.29. Those rings were huge and at least 1″-thick, and yes, they were delicious! I love love loved the onion rings! The rice was well seasoned and the fish tasted fresh. However, the cream sauce was excessively salty. The Fish-n-Chips that the boyfriend ordered was scrumptious. Seriously scrumptious! It came with 4 big pieces of cod in beer batter on top of a generous heaping of shoestring fries. The fish was so soft and flaky, and the beer batter was crispy and heavenly! The fries were good as well. I would highly recommend the Fish-n-Chips to the fried-food lovers! The other guy had the Blackened Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with garlic toasts, which he said was just A-OK. oh well… I thought he was just silly to have chicken pasta at a seafood place. teeheee: P Prices were reasonable, and with the Groupon, it was such a steal!

Great food! Have eaten the fish and chips(delish) and the fried shrimp platter(amazing)! I stick with seafood, but the other food looks good as well. The waitstaff is a little lacking though(minus one star for them) the hostess made it seem like we were an inconvenience.

Average food, waitstaff good but over priced because they will nickel & dime you for the smallest thing… they even up charged 1.29 for changing from French fries to onion rings and sub charge 1.47 for changing from rice to salad.

Consistency is key. My husband really likes this place but i could do without it because I can’t trust the food to be good all the time. You know that feeling when you like something once, go back and order it again and it’s horrible? That’s the Sharky’s feeling. The 1st time I had fried crawfish and etoufee here it was pretty good. Not as good as some other places I like but with some hot sauce I was fine. Went back with my husband for the same dish and got soggy half-fried pale crawfish that was not edible. They«fixed» the order but it still was not good. Now I just prefer not to go. Since Hubby likes the salads and turkey burgers I have been back a few times but still not redeemed themselves. The only reason this is not a two-star is because the service is pretty good. Friendly staff, not so good food.

Groupon once again has allowed me to try a place at a fraction of the actual cost. I purchased a 3 course meal Groupon. For $ 36, you get two prime ribs with two lobster tails, or one full Maine lobster; 2 shrimp cocktails for appetizers and bread pudding to share for dessert. I thought it was worth the value, so sold. The atmosphere is fun and laid back. Service is really decent and our server was very attentive. The place remind me of a high end burger dive, but the menu was more extensive than just burgers, which is quite obvious by the Groupon purchased. The shrimp cocktail was very tasty and the cocktail sauce was flavorful and had the right amount of zing. The prime rib was super soft and was seasoned decently. Really no complaints with it. Lobster is truly just an over sized crawfish that lack seasoning. Lobster normally takes on the taste of its dipping sauce, butter! The bread pudding came with ice cream as well, and the wife actually gave it an okay rating. All in all, there is nothing truly special about this place to make me yearn to head back there. With the right Groupon, I would pay them another visit, but this place truly does not do anything that makes it stick out from the pack. Is worth doing at least one time.

I wanted so bad to LOVE it here. We had a groupon, $ 20 got us $ 45 of grub. Atmosphere is great, service is TOPCLASS, Daniella our server was lovely, efficient, not obtrusive or bothersome and she even picked up a mistake by the kitchen(I asked for sauce on the side and they poured it over my fish). We started with chips and queso — which are pretty much hard to go wrong with. Entrée hubby had fish’n’chips — I hate any fish that comes in ‘sticks’ and the shoestring fries were just ok, but dripping in grease(I may have tested hubbys dinner while I was waiting for my re-do to come out) $ 20 for some macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi? some bland rice and rock hard veggies? meh. There are half a dozen places I could list selling cheaper, and more delicious fish than the small hunk of greasy mahi mahi that I had. The only saving grace for this meal, was the dessert. We had the bread pudding, it was as big as my HEAD with a huge chunk of ice cream and aside from the pudding not being hot enough(the ice cream had barely melted by the time the stupid dessert broke us both!) it was delicious. NOM! We’d not go back. The tag line should read, ‘Sharky’s, swimming in grease’

My husband and I used to frequent this location simply because the food was different and good. However, on our most recent visit in early January 2013, we dined here for brunch. There were about 5 customers in the entire place around 11am on a Sunday. We left and then realized that we left one of our cell phones at the restaurant in the booth where we sat. We returned immediately only to be told that it wasn’t there. Well, we didn’t go anywhere else so it was the only place it could have been. The Manager pretended to care and took down our information. The guy that cleaned the table pretended that he didn’t speak English and denied seeing the phone(where we later heard him speaking English to his co-workers). The waitress /bartender denied seeing the phone after picking up the check when we left. We tracked the phone back to the location after visiting our providers store and then when informing the restaurant, they continued to deny it. We offered a $ 500 reward with no questions asked if they returned the phone and that returned no response. The police report didn’t seem to matter to them either. The lack of trust in this restaurant and it’s management and employees has stopped us from returning. If you can’t trust them, then why trust the food that they cook. If you do eat here, beware that if you make the human mistake of leaving behind a phone or a credit card or other personal belonging… they will take it.

Have always enjoyed the burgers and have tried at least half of them. But my favorites are the blue crab tacos. In the corner of a cheap looking shopping center where it’s hard to park but it’s worth it.

Per my travels to Houston, I usually go to the restaurants that my parents currently enjoy. This one is on their list, primarily due to the Blackened Redfish. My parents, in their old age don’t like to venture out but 20 minutes from their west houston abode. Sharky’s just happens to be right around the corner. Ambiance: Large empty dining room with televisions if you would like to see a sporting event. This appeared to be more of a dining establishment than sports bar, but you can have it either way. Service: Wonderful, everyone is friendly from the hostess to the bus boy. Food: We had the following: Fried Green tomatoes and Okra topped with crab: Sounded interesting so we pulled the trigger on it. The green tomatoes were cut a little thin, so all the tartness was released in the frier and not in my mouth. Okra was pretty much what all fried okra should taste like, par for the course there. The crab was just a smidgeon placed on top, really added nothing to the dish whatsoever. Sauce was good(chipotle aioli) but we ended up opting for another sauce that came with another dish(a frothed up and thinned sour cream) and actually would have added to the dish had I been able to taste the tart green tomato. As for the actual frying component, they were fried properly with a light corn meal coating being perfectly golden brown so no complaints there. Overall would say it was average. Blackened Redfish: This is what my parents love at Sharky’s and it didn’t disappoint. Wasn’t the freshest piece of fish around but it was prepared very well and tasted delicious. I had no complaints here. Broiled Seafood platter: Average. Nothing special but nothing horrible. Everything was cooked properly but I might opt for something else next time. Ribs: Tried one of the ribs that my mother ordered. Sauce is a little sweet for me, but the ribs were cooked properly and not dry. Not my type of barbecue but not bad. For a place that seems to be sports oriented, this place has some decent food. Is it average, sure it is, but there is something to be said for having blackened redfish, decent beer on tap, and an NFL football game on the TV screen. Beats eating wings and shitting fire after your team drops a deuce on the football field against their arch rival.

Never had a bad experience. Always good and attentive staff. Perhaps my favorite meal is their brunch. Great bloody marys and they are cheap! And the crab cake benidict is amazing. Went with 5 of us once and 4 the other and each time everyone loved their food. Did do dinner once and was pleasntly surprised, wasn’t expecting much b/c of the reviews but glad I didn’t listen to all the whiners on here. Now the posts about the girl talking about customers was terrible. I hope they took care of this, I’m guessing they did because never met a person there that could be the cruel.

A group of us went here for Sunday Brunch and we were very impressed, we like to think of ourselves as brunch connoisseurs and as such have been to many places in search for the best brunch offerings. Sharky’s ranks as very high on our list. First you have to try the Peach Bellini, the waitress said they added extra champagne in it, either way it was delicious and very cheap at $ 2.50. The brunch menu is very extensive which makes it really difficult to make a choice. We tried the chicken and waffles and the steak and eggs at our table. The steak was cooked superbly, the chicken were crispy but not too oily, and the waffles were light. We are definitely adding Sharky’s to our brunch rotations and will even come during regular hours.

Sharky’s is the latest in a long line sports bars to occupy this location. I’ve heard lots of negative things about the food here, such as «the seafood isn’t very fresh» or that«the shrimp tastes like seapak». My mind wasn’t blown by the food here, but it turned out to be a lot better than what I expected. They have really good coconut shrimp here. The calamari appetizer was also decent, but not the best in the neighborhood. Other than that, I can’t say much about the food. The service here is excellent and the waitstaff are very attentive. They’re definitely willing to bend over backwards to ensure that their customers leave happy. The atmosphere is pretty nice and is similar to that of the location’s previous occupants, only with a coastal theme and less TV’s. Overall, Sharky’s isn’t my first choice in the area. However, I wouldn’t mind coming here if someone else wanted to go. It’s a good restaurant, but it isn’t the best place on the block.

This place is just so-so. Came here after work with the girlfriend and had dinner, was sort of a mistake really. The cheeseburger I got was dry as all hell, and I had flies buzzing all over my food the whole time. Onion rings were below average, with the batter falling off and the raw onion taste still there. The girlfriend’s seafood plate was slightly better, but too much coating on the catfish made it so so. That, and poor poor service make it so I won’t be coming back to this place anytime soon. Also, a shade on the pricey side! One good thing, they have live music on certain days of the week, so be sure to check that out if it’s your thing.

*quick tip* Blackened Chicken fettuccine alredo-delicious Coconut shrimp-delicious This place use to be a sports bar, I never checked out the previous owner. So this was my first time inside the building. It was like a bw3 but a little fancier. If you’re in the energy corridor area… it’s a pretty chilled-quiet area at night. Not the area to party like a rock star. But the business around the area is busy for the daytime or for the locals. I had just finished helping my friend set up for her party. We were exhausted & just wanted a bite somewhere near by. It was about 10 ish & closing time was 11pm. We felt bad bc of the timing & it was quite empty. But the waitstaff was extremely nice. Treated us with great service & Didn’t feel rushed. We were afraid that we were going to get crappy food for the timing but they proved me wrong. I was hungry & wanted something fulfilling, so I ordered the : Blackened Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo Fettuccine Tossed with Alfredo Sauce with Oven Dried Tomatoes, Fried Zucchini, Spinach & Garlic Bread Let’s just say holy moly it hit the spot! The fried zucchini was some thing interesting. the portion was huge, but I devoured it. Yes, I know so unhealthy with creamy sauce, massive carbs of fettuccine & bread, fried veggie… A pile of shaved fresh parmesan not those grated ones~ The alfredo sauce was flavorful & didn’t break apart. All the joints I’ve been eating at, their Alfredo sauce breaks apart, I believe grotto was the last place I had Alfredo & it was big time disappointment. And my friend ordered a coconut shrimp. The shrimp is one of their popular dish. I was too into my pasta… so I didn’t get to try one. But my friend said she’s a fan. Looking forward to come back~ Also great place to watch sports.

We were out one night looking for something new for dinner. We had driven by here several times before, but didn’t stop since it looked to sports bar like. This time we stopped in — not expecting much. The place was very open inside and a bit noisy. We opted to sit outside since it was quieter and warmer. There were about 5 unbussed tables, so we had to wait a bit for them to get cleaned. Once we were finally seated our waiter came right over to take our orders. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes(6.46 Green Tomatoes battered in Corn flour, fried & topped with Blue Crab Meat & our Chipotle Aioli) to start. These were actually pretty tasty. Not too greasy or soft. For dinner I had the Laguna Dungeness Crab Tacos(15.65 Two Soft Corn Tortillas filled with Premium Dungeness Crab, topped with Napa Cabbage, Jicama, Cilantro, Special Baja Sauce & Served with Sharky’s Rice Sharky’s Rice). I was pleased with these as well. Overall dinner was good. I had no complaints really. I have to give it 3 stars since I wasn’t wowed and placing it on my «we have to come back» list. My review echoes Marshall L’s from 6÷2÷2012. Sharky’s has outstanding food. If all you care about is the food, you should definitely give it a shot. I will also say that the first time I ate there(about a month ago), the service was just fine. Most recently, though, my fiancée and I encountered the same immature, disrespectful behavior from several of the young ladies on the waitstaff that Marshall L. described. I even think we had the same server, Tiffany. I can only speculate why, but these two servers(Tiffany and some young blonde) were staring and pointing at my fiancée. Once my fiancée noticed, the blonde came over to our table and made up some silly excuse, but it was clear she wasn’t being forthright. They had clearly been amusing themselves at our expense, and my fiancée felt awful when we left. I would have said something but I rarely pick up on the subtleties of female social behavior. It just seemed strange at the time. I think this place could be great if it can find some servers who don’t humiliate the customers.

Sweet and very courteous waitress to start with ;) and went a long way to customise the food for me, excellent taste in the end and decent value for money(they are not the cheapest ones around but still ok) I had garlic sauteed spaghetti with yummy grilled prawns and some nice garlic breads along sides.

Solid neighborhood seafood joint. The wife and I split a broiled seafood platter that had two filets of catfish and 6 medium shrimp, rice and broiled carrots and green beans. It was tasty, if not a bit salty. The shrimp were the better of the two. We also had the seafood gumbo which was good. We also split a couple of pounds of crawfish. For $ 7.50/lb, they were priced high and overall were not memorable. Straight cajun spice that was relatively mild though most of the crawfish were of a good size. The outdoor seating was great. The beer was inexpensive and the draft list was good for a restaurant with Firemans, St. Arnolds, and New Castle on tap as well as about 12 others available. The brownie dessert was good. Service was spotty, but I think that the waitress was new – so I’ll give them a pass. Worth a return trip!

This place cycles owners as quickly as seasons change so we didn’t expect too much and just wanted something new. We were not expecting this to be so good! I tried fried green tomatoes, the seafood gumbo and had the blackened fish tacos for my entrée. Everything was incredible. The portions are huge and reasonably priced for what you get. Caution on the«I cream you scream“sundae. It is HUGE but tasty as well! Three people couldn’t even finish it and it was brought to the table with a lit sparkler in it!
