If it has 10 stars, I will absolutely give this show 15 stars. Our family went to Jones Hall on December 24th, the Christmas Eve, hope finding something warm & cheerful feeling at the Eve. We are familiar with Jones hall’s seats, got the seats at front orchestra which was $ 200 for each seat since I was told by my friends who seen it that the whole show has two & half hours, about twenty programs, more than a hundred artists, most of the dance leaders had been champion owners of world dance competition. Our family enjoyed it very much. Surprised by the choreographing, beautiful colorful costumes, and fabulous orchestra made us feel super warm, would say exited. The most impressive was the way they tell the stories. I guess they have lots of stories to share with people since China has almost 5000 years history. They tell the stories by combination of dance & high tech dynamic backdrop, for example in one play, a lady has flown into the sky, her husband tried to get her back, the man caught her hand on the screen of backdrop, it was so romantic because the lady on the backdrop looked the real, her costume even waved in the wind… our family later on discussed the stories, looked into the program book, talked, talked, talked…
We were told this show stands for the best Classical Chinese Dance in the world. We definitely will see Shen Yun next year if they will come back again.

I can appreciate all of the hard work that went into choreographing these performances however I failed to connect to the overall message. We had mezzanine seats which were practically nosebleed, and I found myself bored at times. They did have beautiful costumes, and orchestra was fabulous.
