Space City Takeout

Tonight I placed my second order with Space City Takeout and with consideration that both times things were really messed up I will not be using this service in the future. My first experience with them was ordering from a Mexican place. I was called and told there were not chips to make nacho’s did I want it anyway. I said no just cancel that portion since nachos are really not nachos without the chips. When my food arrived I had nachos minus the chips. When I called Space City Takeout I was offered a refund of only half the amount of the nachos I didn’t want. Tonight was my second order with them. Nearly an hour after my scheduled delivery time I received a call that the driver was still having to wait on my food after 45 minutes at the restaurant. We immediately called the restaurant and spoke with a manger who said our food had left with the driver 40 minutes before our call. 30 minutes later our food arrived (now well over the time stated it would be delivered) it is cold and uneatable. To make things right this time I was offered a $ 5 credit on a $ 50 meal. Save yourself the hassle and just avoid using this service all together.

After posting the negative review below, Space City Contacted me and offered a $ 10 gift card for my problems. I apparently had two accounts and the address information was not correct which causing the delay on my orders. I will continue to use Space City for the convenience and customer service.
I love the idea of this! Take out from many different places delivered to your door when you want it. Although I have ordered from them many times and continue to order from them, they ALWAYS deliver late. It is so frustrating to deal with. Especially on a week night! They also mark up all items as well as add a delivery charge.

I love this delivery service. They were swift and accurate with the arrival of my order. I received text messages notifying me on my delivery status. I highly recommend this delivery service along with Red River Grill.

Since these guys don’t check their email and are extremely unprofessional, here it goes. Here is an email I sent them as a complaint.
«Hello,
I have been a long time Space city take out customer, over 3 years now.
I have never complained when my food was late or cold, or items were missing.
But today I had a driver who called me and cussed, and that isn’t acceptable regardless of the situation.
I too work in retail and am aware of the frustration that may arise from dealing with multiple customers on a daily basis, thus why I don’t complain when things go wrong.
Terms used were, «You are fucking lying to me,’ «don’t get smart with me asshole,’ and «you are not fucking around the corner.»
Now just to be perfectly clear, I am not reporting this individual, but disappointed at him and your service. Under no circumstance was he able to say such things, and act the way he did.
I did however take initative for you guys and spoke to him, and we had an understanding, and deescalate this incident.
I am simply writing to you let you know about the incident, and hope it will be avoided in the future with any customer, cause other customers may not be as understanding as myself.
Also, I do not appreciate being lied to, as he said he has had this issue in the past with me, and I have never seen him before, and have never in the past been late. Today I had an issue with my office which I had to take care of.

I AM NOW A LIFELONG CUSTOMER.
I am babysitting tonight and not able to get myself food. Was very simple, easy and quick to set up an account and get my food ordered. Now only did they email, they also sent text reminders EVERY step of the way!
Drivers was very nice and didn’t mind that I had odd instructions. (Didn’t want him to ring doorbell)
I will definitely recommend to others!

This service is my dream come true. When you don’t feel like cooking or going out into the heat or traffic USE THIS SERVICE! Ordering is very easy with the app (I only wish it’d remember my password). Food is Luke warm when it arrives but that’s how it’d be if I went and picked it up by the time I got it home. To the other negative reviews on here: they are not making the food, they are delivering it! That’s an inherent risk you take when ordering delivery #MIDDLECLASSPROBLEMS

Service is very slow and my order is almost always incomplete and missing things. As part of their service, the driver should be required to audit the order the customer placed versus the order received by the driver at the restaurant. Literally just take two extra minutes to check before leaving the restaurant. ITS CALLED SERVICE. It’s really not hard but as the saying goes if you want something done right the first time just do it yourself.

Ordered for the first time tonight. Ordering was fairly simple using the app but like some other reviewers I waited for over 2 hours to receive my food. Double the projected time. Received a txt message the the driver arrived at the restaurant at 8 pm and at 8:40 he still hadn’t left? Another txt msg arrived proclaiming that my order was placed. What? I thought that was taken care of earlier — like when I placed the order just after 7 pm. Called customer service and the only explanation is a high volume of orders and a sorry. Terrible! Between the service fee and the tip — highly unlikely I would use this service again. I just wanted to relax after a long week at work and had to deal with this frustration.

There was a problem with the order but they fixed the problem, great job.

I just love these people! The service is exceptional and timely and they are always super nice! You just can beat an outstanding attitude form the people who provide services these days. Thanks guys!

I have used them a few times now and they are great. The process is easy and the delivery prices seems fair. It saves me a trip and I am able to get something besides the usual delivery places. My food has arrived before the the time they give you, every time I’ve ordered. I will continue to be a repeat customer.

Thank you for a great service! They have always been fast, friendly and it takes a load off my back. I wish more restaurants would sign up with them, but what they have now for choices is varied. The food delivered has been very good too.

You guys rock!!! I’ve ordered through you to many times to count, from almost every restaurant you offer delivery from and I’ve very rarely gotten my order and it have something wrong, it has happened a couple of times and you’ve always made it right, very quickly and politely, no fuss about it at all. Out of at least 30 or 40 orders a few mix ups is not bad at all. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing your driver at my door with my next meal.

Perfect! Via text, they let us know they received the order, placed the order, when the driver was picking up the order and that the driver was on their way! Also… exactly during the range of time they advised when we placed the order!

I’ve ordered from this service quite a few times, and they have yet to disappoint! They have GREAT prices, especially because you really just pay the restaurant prices plus a very small delivery fee and tip, which I feel is absolutely worth it for the options they have and the convenience! My order has been wrong before and the service was very fast to fix it! The mess-​up was the restaurant’s fault and it would not have been possible for the driver to notice it unless they touched all over my food, but they still replaced my order free of charge, and did not charge an extra delivery charge for it (although I did pay an extra tip-​it wasn’t the driver’s fault!)! Both the drivers and the people that work at the service are extremely friendly and helpful, the food gets here quickly and is still warm, and I would absolutely recommend them!

Space City Takout it a fantastic service for after you get home from work and just don’t want to drive anymore. Their prompt courteous d rivers are a great alternative. Give em a try and I am sure you will be hooked like us.

Great service especially when you don’t feel like getting out the house. Good variety of restaurants to choose from and not too long of a wait.

Ordered from Space City Takeout and chose the Mexican resturaunt — Dos Mas. First off, do not add gratuity prior to your food arriving. The driver did not ensure that all items on her ticket were accurate. Food was missing from the order, and the food arrived cold and stale. There is a $ 9.99 delivery charge and Space City Takeout asks if you would like to add gratuity as you check out with your credit card. NEVER do that. Always tip the driver cash once you have confirmed that your food is hot, and that all items are in the bag once he/​she arrives at your doorstep. Space City never took accountability for the screw up, and called me after 10 PM with a Dos Mos worker, arguing about who’s fault it was that the order was not correct. No accountability what-​so-​ever! Next time, order Chinese or Pizza, your food and experience will be much better! Order at your own RISK!!!
