Hands down my favorite place to eat in Houston! The food is always on point and consistent. If you want to have a tasteful healthy meal this is your spot.

Vegan/Vegetarian HEAVEN!!! Love the owner, love the healthy options available and love the atmosphere. They are at a new location — 3102 Old Spanish Trail, Houston, TX next to Guy’s Meat Market. The garlic kale is the BIZNESS!!! Love the kefir — a great probiotic and it’s non-dairy. I’m here at least once every 2 weeks. Sunshine’s really does a body good!

The inside of this place isn’t too much to wrote home about but the quality of the food really makes up for that. Very healthy, very tasty food. 5 stars!

From the Vegan Nachos and spaghetti to the natural fruit juice blends and smoothies EVERYTHING is delicious. This is like soul food in the vegetarian world. The food is fabulously seasoned and very delicious. You can’t go wrong with anything you try. Access is even better at their new location at 3102 Old Spanish Trail.

This place has vegan soul food!!! The quality is top notch!!! Arga, the owner, is very knowledgable regarding healthy foods!(She’s also my birthday twin) The vegan burgers are made with boca burger and are seasoned fantastically! I’m glad that they’ve moved to the new location that’s near the Texas Medical Center! So much more convenient!

Just found this restaurant while looking for good vegetarian options nearby. Food was amazing and I could tell the chef really knew what he was doing. 10⁄10 would go again.

Now this is what I call«Soul» food y’all! Food that feeds your soul and doesn’t send you to an early grave! I’ve been to Sunshine’s many times and try to bring as many people that I can convince to come along with me. The garlic kale is the best I’ve ever had and is a must if you come here. I’ve tried the Tex-mex boca burger, almond pâté, potato salad, and lentil soup and all are A-1! Friends have told me that their smoothies and po boys are divine as well. This place is a trek as I live on the far NW side of Houston but the drive is always worth it. The staff is extremely nice and fast in serving the customers. They recently moved and I thought that they closed down and almost had a breakdown in my car until I read the sign on the old location door about the relocation. The new location is deep in the back of a strip center and you have to really look for it because the sign is really small, but don’t give up tho! I’m not vegetarian or vegan but this is dope for anybody to come and get a good meal. Come and get yourself some«good for the soul» food y’all!

I have tried a lot of vegan/vegetarian restaurants around Houston, but nothing compares to this restaurant. I absolutely love Sunshine Deli and try to go as often as I can, which is definitely not enough if I had my way. Luckily, the restaurant moving hasn’t changed its distance from my house. I have tried the following dishes: Vegan Nachos(4⁄5): I really enjoy these nachos. The ground meat is very good and pretty convincing(from the perspective of someone who doesn’t eat beef). Still not a huge fan of the cashew cheese because I don’t think it adds a lot of cheesy flavor to the dish. The There are also jalapenos on this dish, which are key. BBQ Burger(substituted soy chicken for the soy boca)(5⁄5). Seriously amazing. I’m not a huge fan of boca burgers, so I sub the soy chicken patty for the boca, which I think is great. The patty is really tasty, and the BBQ sauce and pickles on top added a necessary tang and crunch. I order this every time I go to Sunshine — so good. Tex Mex Burger(3.5÷5). The chipotle sauce was very tasty, but the boca burger was a bit overspiced. There was a pretty overpowering nutmeg flavor in the patty, which I did not care for. It was still quite good, though. Garlic Kale Salad(5⁄5). The kale is always fresh, and the garlic sauce is incredibly potent and also amazing. I don’t know what was in the dressing, but it tasted very creamy despite being vegan. I really enjoyed it. It is, however, flavored very heavily with garlic, which some people may not enjoy. If you love garlic like I do, you’ll really enjoy the dressing. Almond Pâté(4⁄5): Really tasty vegan take on pâté that is loaded with veggies including carrots and celery. I really love this dish and pretty much order it every time I go. I really love Sunshine Deli. Definitely recommend for everybody, vegan or carnivore!

Everything is deliciously vegan! Its a little hard to find and Google won’t take you straight to it but its definitely a hidden treasure.(right by the optometrist) If your looking to eat clean but not skimp on flavor, this is absolutely for you.

I work down the street from this place for almost two months and never made my way here(even though I intended to). One day at the suggestion of a coworker we went for lunch. I was kicking myself that I had not made it sooner. The food is so delicious. I have not had a bad meal. I am not vegan but dont miss meat at all when I eat here. The black bean nachos are killer. A HUGE portion, bring a person to share. My favorite dishes are the mixed kale salad, potato salad, chili bean soup and of course the black bean nachos. The place is ways busy around lunchtime but service is still quick. The owner is so friendly and personable. The last time I was there he came to my table, shook our hands and even cleared our trays. They also sell bean pies that are made and brought in from an outside bakery I eat here at least once a week. This restaurant is a staple in the community and there is definitely a reason why.

I was introduced to this place, by a friend who gave it rave reviews. When she recommended it at first, I was a little skeptical, because it’s a vegan restaurant. Because I like to try new things, I decided to venture in, and I’m glad I did. The place has an easy neighborhood feel to it. You can order to go, or choose to dine in. It’s on the style of a small café on one side, and the health food store is on the other. I ordered the Baco burger, and it was flavorable to say it wasn’t a meat product. To be honest, you really couldn’t taste the different between it and a turkey burger. The prices are good, and the menu has a new variety. The owner himself Mr. Sunshine came in, and he has a sweet spirit. He greeted us, and even picked up our plates. I felt very cozy in this intimate spot, and plan to visit again. There is alkaline water available in a pitcher for guest to drink for free. I was glad to support a local favorite! Kudos to Sunny, hunny you got it right!

By far the absolute best«health food» I’ve ever tasted. This funky, chic little joint invites you to excitedly browse the menu from the moment you walk in. I’ve had several items from the menu and Sunshine never disappoints.

Right next to the optical store!!! They don’t have a sign but they are there in the back of 5959 long Dr. Next to the Alzheimer association! The food is amazing. They gave me a sample of their most popular salads and I chose to get the broccoli salad, almond pâté, garlic kale, and bean thread. Broccoli salad is crunchy and had diced red bell pepper. I actually am not a fan of raw broccoli, but this was very good. Bean thread has black olives, red onion, red bell pepper, and some other things. Tastes great. For picky eaters this might be the safest choice because it’s what I belive to be rice noodles. Almond pâté is just to hard to explain for me. I would say give it a try. It taste great and it’s back with protein. Garlic kale is zesty spicy. Yes, it will leave you with dragons breathe, but it’s amazing. I wrote this while eating because I was truly inspired. I had a small chat with the owner and all the recipes are her creations. She’s is all about healthy eating. Yes, it is vegetarian and vegan food, but this food is beyond that. It’s great food. I recommend it.
