Unilocal actually brought me to this place. We were looking for something to eat after leaving my cousin’s boba tea shop nearby. The staff doesn’t speak much English, but we were lucky to have a Spanish speaking friend with us. The food was good and very inexpensive. The area we were seated in had a really strange smell(most comparable to a restroom). They had three dollar margaritas that were pretty strong. I ordered the pork torta and a barbacoa taco. I never received my taco, but I enjoyed the torta. I’d give it a shot if you’re in the area. Just don’t sit next to the electronic juke box.

Good food at really good value. Would recommend the fajita skillet and the burrito. Also one of the best red salsas I’ve ever tried. Really spicy and keeps you wanting more. Decent restaurant that gives you more bang for your buck.

This was an awesome late lunch. I had the fajitas. The beans are the best I have ever had(I have had a lot of beans in my life). Try this place out. You will not be sorry. I will frequent this place.

Came here with my boyfriend for breakfast, because he was craving breakfast tacos. Got two of each(i think they were egg+potato, egg+ham, egg+chorizo, egg+bacon). Paid just about 10 dollars for 8 tacos! And just two tacos were enough to stuff me. Yummy and affordable. Definitely coming back for breakfast in the future.

Food was really good and fresh. Can’t find authentic Mexican food here but this place is worth it and affordable! The chips and salsa was great! Would definitely come back!

Great place for some«real Mexican food». Seem like the food was all very fresh and made well. To much variety hard to choose a favorite. I’ll be back to try them all.

The new go-to spot. Extremely affordable food. Chips and salsa are delish. Only thing bad is they close at 11pm or midnight, but they aren’t losing a star over it. Burrito is big. Quesadilla is big also. Got fajita beef for both and they were excellent!

Coming from the southeast side of Houston, and having recently hanging out more on the North side, has given me some much needed diversity in the authenticity of ethnic foods. North side needs to get some major props for this. This taqueria is pretty authentic Mexican. Not TexMex or White boy Tacos here, there is no ground beef here! They’ve got that lengua and other menudos for you to try. I however always stick to my Mliensa Torta. It’s under 4 bucks, delicious and satisfying. Dine in gives you warm chips and salsa, and very prompt service. If I were in college this would be a staple. If I were still in Chicago, this would be our after hours. This spot is solid.

This place is a go to spot for breakfast. They offer up a variety of breakfast plate for less than $ 4. Food is good and the restaurant itself has a calm cool and collective vibe to it.

I was brought here by a friend and I fell on love. This has actually been here for years I just never stopped to try. Their salsa is nice with a little kick not too tomatoe-y. I normally order the enchiladas verdes but I’ve also had their tortas, menudo, and the fajita special. It’s all good and they also have fresh fruit juices. I would totally recommend this place to anyone with a Mexican food craving in the area.

My co-workers and I would sometimes go here on Thursdays because of their special deal: Fajita plate with beef, chicken, and shrimp that comes with rice and beans for around $ 7. It’s not a bad deal for the amount of food that they give you. My only real complaints about the dish is that the chicken is a bit dry and sour cream costs extra. The only other dish I tried here is the chicken quesadilla, which I might add is quite delicious yet a little greasy. Although I’m not a big fan of this place, I wouldn’t mind coming back here again.

My uncle took us here this past glorious Sunday. Jaliscos is located in a strip-center and can be confusing to get to if you are looking for it specifically. There’s a spot just down the street with the same name. My girlfriend and I arrived safely after the initial confusion. We were glad, because the other place had a strange funk going on. We didn’t even go in! Jaliscos is a hearty neighborhood restaurant that dishes out raw, flavorful, authentic grub. In hopes of adding Jalisco’s to my taco list, I ordered a couple. Unfortunately, the tacos fell short and won’t make the list. The tripe tacos were way too dry. The flavor was alright, but the dryness unforgivable. On the other hand, the breakfast taco is a pretty magnificent beast. The bits of sausage mixed in with the egg pack a powerful punch. Since food here can be gargantuan, I was able to sample around the table. I’m not a menudo fan, but what they dole up here is pretty awesome. Great flavor and the belly of the beast(that’s what’s in the soup in case you’re lost) has never tasted so good to me. The giant burrito will quench any hunger. My girlfriend got the bean, egg and potato burrito, which took a lot of help to tackle – but finally the job was done! My favorite part of eating here was the strange Filipino, «Save the Children» serenade that went down towards the end of our meal. All of the sudden I heard this peaceful acoustic guitar music and singing that made me very angry. Next thing I know the serenade is at our table handing us propaganda about the suffering children. We helped with a donation, but – seriously – we could have done without the serenade. This is a solid little place and if you’re lucky you can even save the children while you feast!
