Food is delicious but a bit pricey, so if you wanna come here instead of driving down Bellaire, it’ll be about the same. My favorite here is their salt and pepper squid! Everything here seems to be cooked with a twang of sweetness so if you like things more salty and don’t like the hint of sweetness, you may not appreciate some of the dishes as much. The walnut shrimp is also very juicy and it comes with walnut clusters instead of it being broken up. I’m not crazy about this place overall, but I do enjoy their squid a lot!

Horrible staff! Door sign says they close at 9:30pm. 4 of us walked in at 9:02pm. We were greeted with«You better order now, we close in 15 mins». She then walked over to the table and slammed the menus and came back and went on about her routine. I had to finally ask«Is that our table?» To which came the reply in the rudest tone…“Yea, go sit over there!” Fed up with the attitude I said«If you do not want our business, we can go somewhere else…» She then said«I didnt say that, yall better order now, we close in 10 mins… followed by full blown yelling contest… never going back there again.

The food here is pretty good overall but their sanitation and service is severely lacking. We ask the waiter to bring us new cups again and again because they weren’t clean the first round and the second time, there were dead bugs all over one. It made us fear the cleanliness of the plates and utensils. The service is super unfriendly too. One of our dishes also had hair in it… Not the best first experience here… The food is good but they need to improve quite a bit before I’ll even have the thought of making to drive to visit here again…

Their food is delicious! The price of their spring rolls in a little high but the phở is reasonably priced! My coworker and I do take out from them a lot! Average service but I still do take out from them a lot!

Food was okay but way too greasy. I would go with the soup. The staff were not very nice. The place looks decent but due for a remodeling of carpet and a deep cleaning. I will not be back mainly because of the amount of grease on the fried rice and the cheap & old silverware(I used plastic)

We have now been dining at Tay Do’s for twenty years. They are as consistent as they are good. Our favorite restaurant for all Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. Just a awesome place to eat at reasonable prices.

Very satisfied last night. Service has improved. Foods were fantastic. Ordered seafood hot pot, calamari, seafood fried rice, seafood in clay pot, snow pea leaf, steamed fish in soy sauce, lotus salad. Every single dish was so good and fresh. Will come back soon! !! :-)

Favorite go to restaurant for Asian food. Everything is fresh. Would not go back to the same restaurant the second time around if food is not great, service not good or restaurant doesn’t meet my expectations!!! Taydo obviously exceeds my expectations. Clean restrooms, you don’t feel being rush when finished with meals. Friendly staff.

Came here for lunch with a coworker. I had the lunch special honey chicken with vermicelli. It came with hot and sour soup and an egg roll, all for $ 7.50. That was a good deal and the dish was tasty. I enjoyed the meal very much. My friend order the noodle soup with assorted meat. The soup bowl was big but a little bland. He had to add a bunch of sauce… Anyway, it was a good lunch for me.

I wasn’t going to review this place since I’ve actually only eaten here once, and about a couple years ago or so at that, but I feel compelled to since they served the best bowl of phở I’ve ever eaten. While I’m no phở aficionado, I would say I’ve eaten my fair share of phở. I happened to be in the nearby area with a family member during the mid afternoon, and as we were very hungry, we stopped by to eat here based on the recommendation of an acquaintance even though neither of us are huge fans of phở. The restaurant’s interior was that of a roomy Chinese seafood restaurant, and at the time was completely deserted. We were seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant. The restaurant serves Chinese/Vietnamese food, and looks nothing like a phở eatery. It’s clearly not supposed to be their specialty, as the list of phở is buried somewhere in the back of their menu. We ordered the phở with well-done beef. I don’t remember much about the meat itself, but we both thought the broth was hands-down the best phở broth we’ve ever had. The rice noodles were as good as any place. Portions were normal. It feels unfair for me to review the place based on my set of circumstances, but it feels like a greater injustice to not review this place. Perhaps it was anomalous, but it’s still clearly the best phở I’ve had to date.

Good place for large parties. The only time this place is busy is when their is a wedding going on, otherwise, the place is dead. Everything on the menu is of large portions because they’re all meant for sharing. The calamari is the best item on he menu. It is perfectly fried and seasoned. Honestly that’s all I know on the menu. Everything else is in Vietnamese. The rice stirred with onions and chicken in a hot stone bowl is good but I forgot what that is called. Other than that, the food is just okay. The owners all speak Vietnamese and barely any English soooo good luck. Hehe.

Fried squid was huge! It was very tasty and I’ve never had it cut up into big pieces like this. The beef noodle soup was also a hit. I didn’t need to add any sauces. It was pretty empty on a Thursday night so service was on point. We also ordered the salted pork ribs but I felt like I was clogging up my arteries so I only ate a few pieces of that. I always have a hard time picking items apart from what I’ve already had from previous places(pretty sure I’m not alone) but compared to other Chinese restaurants, these dishes trumped all of them in my book.

Terrible Service: we ordered 5 dishes and they forgot our vegetable dish(we needed to eat with our main meat dishes). We have to remind them twice before they brought it out. When they did, we finished our dinner already. No apology!!! Shame on Asian service. Food: not good at all. One of the plate we ordered was clam sautéed with basil leaves. Gosh, the clam was still COLD!!!

This place is always good ! I’ve never had a bad experience! If you like authentic Viet/Chinese food come here worth every bite! I guess my only complaint is it sucks when they’re busy because it takes longer to get my food

Came in here for lunch. I had the egg drop soup and Kung Pao Chicken(hold the peanuts.) Egg drop soup was thick, rich with flavor from chicken stock base. Well executed staple of Chinese American food. The Kung Pao Chicken was a nice surprise. I was expecting the rather plain celery cubes, small chunks of chicken and dried red chili treatment. Instead I got very nicely stir fried onion, bell pepper, celery in a quite dry sauce with wonderful Umami flavor and just the right level of heat. Such a nice change from the sauce drowned plate in most Ameri-Chinese places. Even the egg roll was great with peppery bite though it could have actually been smaller.

Comparably, it’s a really nice Vietnamese restaurant for you to get good Vietnamese food. The interior is nice and clean. The service was nice and they serve the fish really fast. We ordered some typical Vietnamese dishes and they all turned out pretty yummy! It’s sad that they closed the location in Bellaire. This location is a lit far from me and which will make me not think about this spot when I crave for Vietnamese food.
