This place gives me absolutely no excitement at all. The décor and vibe is poor. I ordered fried pickles and they were the nastiest most salty things I’ve ever tasted, and over priced! My cheesesteak also had way too much salt on it.

This chain is pretty generic, but overall not a horrible place to get a quick bite, and maybe a beer if in the mood. This location, however is pathetic. A wide open dining area, and a small bar. Plenty of TV’s. The vibe is completely generic, without any of the worn in vibe that the Westheimer location has. Service is uninterested, slow, and forgetful. The two times I have been here, no server cares to acknowledge anybody. Kitchens times are amazingly slow. If you want a beer, the taps are almost always empty. Literally, there was no beer available on a Sunday, when NFL playoffs where going on. Either they don’t care about that crowd, or they don’t care about caring beer… period. Oh, food by the way is as generic as any other location. Faux Philly cheesesteaks and chicken sandwiches. At least I feel comfortable at the Westheimer location. This place seems uninterested to provide anybody with anything. Avoid.

This would have been a 2 star review, but the service bumped it up to three. Make no mistake, this is a dive bar. The food was average, and the draft beer selection was sub-par. The queso was quite thin as well. We may come back, but only if we want to be able to walk home and Absolve is closed.

So it’s not as good as the location in the village in terms of food and not as good as the location on memorial in terms of atmosphere. It’s still got reasonable cheesesteaks and kick ass mustard blend. The queso is better than it used to be. Not sure why its devoid if any customers.

The food was okay, but everything else was a mess. Though it was lunch hour, they were not particularly busy. The tea tasted gross and the coke machine had no carbonated water. Everyone was dumping out drinks and getting either water or lemonade. Considering how small the cups are, this made me really frustrated with the cost. I waited forever for my to go sandwich while I saw groups that came in after me being served. If I had been blown away by my sandwich, I would be more likely to try again. Other Texadelphia locations are much better run.

About the best sandwiches one can reliably get. I have been to Philadelphia, and these cheesesteaks are not those. But they are as good, in a very similar way. Don’t listen to the haters that want a handjob with their sandwich. Get a cheesesteak with jalapenos and the MDMA enriched mustard sauce.

I’ve been coming here a lot for all of the NBA playoff games. If you haven’t been here… go! Seriously. With all of the locations closing I’m worried that those great cheese-steaks will be gone one day. Ever since they closed the Memorial location I can’t find a place that compares. So, I’m glad they opened the Studemont location. The location is great. Close to my house and lots of parking. The staff is friendly and they make sure you have everything you need. Don’t forget to ask for the nightly drink specials.

Went here with a friend for lunch on Friday. We had queso and a philly cheese steak sandwich. It was good and fast. I am just never that excited about their food. My friend loves it. The location is easy and I hope it makes it.

Yummy! We came after a playoff game and the place was pretty empty on a Saturday night. Ordered the fried pickles and beef cheesesteaks with ranch. Love the bread! They come out nice and hot and served with chips. Nice large TV’s in here great place to watch a game or catch a bite to eat. No complaints!

As a few have stated, the queso fries are amazing. I have done take out orders of this appetizer and it is a full plate of waffle fries and cheese. More than I could eat for my full disgusting meal. But beyond that, I’ve had their quesadilla(really messy since it’s essentially a philly between two flour tortillas), chicken philly, normal philly, salad and some other appetizers and they’ve just been average. I wouldn’t travel to get these things. The worst part is they seemed to change their ordering system every time we came. Some days it was seat and get served, other days it was order at the cashier. It gets a bit frustrating.

This Texadelphia must have some haterade on tap. People are getting up in arms about how bad things are. I, on the other hand, was exactly as satisfied as I expected to be. I used to live a stone throw away from the Texadelphia on Memorial before the mean health-beast My Fit Foods took the space over. Granted I’m sure it was better for my waistline. Those weekly queso visits were getting a little obsessive :) The queso was awesome(as usual). I had to get the grilled chicken sandwich because they took away the most delicious chicken salad sandwich on a whole wheat bun I’ve ever had in my WHOLE life. Why, Texadelphia, Why?!! Please bring it back!!! Aside from that — my chicken was delish, plentiful, and I highly enjoyed it! I’m glad they opened another Texadelphia!

They have the best queso ever, perfectly cheesey. My cheesesteak was near cold. The slices of cheese hadn’t even begun to melt and they never did. It isn’t rocket science to serve warm meat.

I used to go to the one on Westheimer on Sunday nights with some friends but that was clear across town. This location is directly across the street from my apartment! I was so excited to have it move in, now my friends come here before we go out to Washington. Tip– park along the street behind it called Memorial Heights and walk across the grass to this place, then you can leave your car and go out on Washington without worrying that it will be towed. Food is what you expect for Texadelphia and the service was pretty good. This should be an great addition to the Washington Corridor.

I feel so old that I can say I used to live on the Texadelphia’s Texican in Rice Village back in ye olden days when I was working on my masters. It also remarks on how little time I spend in Houston these days since I just found out today that the Rice Village location no longer exists. But if you want a big fat Philly Cheesesteak on a Sunday, since Pappa Geno’s is closed on Sunday, this new location on Studemont will do mighty fine right meow. Plenty of televisions. A large spot on the wall for a projection screen in case the televisions facing you from all directions are not large enough. This place is a lot huger than the Rice Village location. It gives up that homely sandwich shoppe feel for something more along the lines of a Buffalo Wild Wings cookie-cutter strip mall location. But the food is the same as ever — delicious. Queso fries — a huge portion, it is easily split by two people with a large appetite. The queso is a bit drippy and by the end of the meal still has not solidified, but it is more preferential to be this way than the gobby hunk of cheese you can unfortunately get more often than not at places like Beaver’s where it is so thick it is basically like eating taffy. Let that roll around in your imagination for a bit. The actual fries themselves are waffle cut and heavily seasoned so they are quite wonderful. They can make anyone happy meow and again. Chicken Texican — the regular size will do and is reasonably priced but you can always be «bad» and grab the larger size. The regular size is a good sized meal when you factor in the fries, queso, and tortilla chips with salsa and queso. The salsa is unfortunately quite weak in terms of heat, but since it is a small container, it is more of a spice of life kind of thing to give it a try. Fortunately the Chicken Texican comes loaded down with jalepeno slices so that makes up for the salsa. The chicken is quite good, add in the queso and it is just amazing.

I love Texadelphia. I always have and always will. Unlike the Westheimer location that I frequent, this particular texadelphia is a lot nicer. The décor is a lot more modern and there’s a lot more lights in the restaurant so it’s a lot brighter. Also, unlike the Westheimer location, the service at this location is actually a lot better. the first time I came, our waitress was really attentive. She was always coming around asking us if we needed anything else; if we were okay; and always filling up our water glass. She also made small talks with us. The second time around, it was a little busier than before and there was a private party going on on the other side of the restaurant. It actually took our waitress a good 10+ minutes before she actually approached our table and introduced herself and took our drink orders. However, she was really attentive after the fact. So no complaints there either. As for the food, maybe it’s just in my head, but I feel like the double meat here is a lot smaller than the Westheimer location. Maybe they need to save some money on meat to pay the higher rent? Who knows? The food tastes just as good, though. And another thing about this location is they actually let you sub the chips that come with your sandwich with waffle fries! The Westheimer location doesn’t let you do this. Overall, this is really a 3.5 stars establishment for me. But I’ll round up, why not?

I was really excited to try the new Texadelphia with my husband after going to a movie yesterday! We are huge fans of the chain and frequented the original in Austin when we lived there. Seriously, I would do just about anything for their mustard blend sauce. This new location lacks the charm we’ve experienced at the other locations, which saddened me. It’s all moderny and cold. Also, nothing on the walls except for one A&M picture — weird. I know it just opened a couple of months ago, but still — get some stuff on the wall. Not off to a great start. Our waitress asked us what we’d like to drink and we both said water«to start,» since we hadn’t picked out our beers yet — love a good beer at Texadelphia! But she never came back to see what else we wanted, so at that point we thought forget it, and just ordered food. I was really looking forward to the grilled veggie cheesesteak. Imagine my surprise when it wasn’t on the menu! I asked about it and the waitress said they don’t serve it at this location. Bummer, as the«veggie sandwich» was just cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and guac. Where’s my pepper, onions, mushrooms, dangit?! Whatever, as long as I can put mustard blend on it, I don’t really care. They delivered our food and my husband was pleased with his large beef cheesesteak and ranch sauce — he said it tasted like all the others he’s had! When they put my «veggie» sandwich in front of me, however, I was confused. «Um, sir? There is turkey on my veggie sandwich.» They apologized and replaced it with the meatless sandwich a few minutes later and I busied myself by eating Shane’s chips and salsa. The second version was ok, but again, kind of boring and plain — cue the mustard blend sauce. At least they got that right. Lots of young kids working who obviously don’t care about customer service — their blank stares told me that they were waiting to get off work and get back on Facebook. Bummer. Maybe we’ll make it back when it’s not so new and they’ve cleaned up their act — IF they start getting better Unilocal reviews!

We ate here today for lunch, not sure what to expect based on the mixed reviews from before.(i.e. some people complained about the quality of the food, the service). If they had food problems, it could’ve been a bad chef before or something. The table next to us also told us they liked their meal. We sat in the outside patio, which was covered and had fans. We also brought our dog with, and sat outside. Inside, you order at a counter, they give you a number which we took to our table outside, and then went to the fountain drink bar to get our drinks. The food took about 10min, which they brought out to our table. We split a large chicken cheesesteak and a side of fries, and this was plenty for the two of us. The food was hot and well-spiced, we both enjoyed it. The cheesesteak was gooey and sticky, and the guacamole was okay as a topping(worth trying anyway). The french fries were waffle fries, also good. When we asked, they brought out ketchup and tabasco for our fries. We live in walking distance, so we’ll probably go back again. They also have takeout. Ps, I’ve been to Pat’s and Geno’s, neither of which is my favorite because they serve the cheesesteaks in an assembly line, where they pre-cook the meat, add it to hoagie roll, and top it with cheese whiz. Which is okay but a bit dry, in my opinion the best cheesesteaks are where the cook the meat fresh, then melt the meat, cheese and bread together into a single gooey mess… Lived there 9 years, take my opinion with a grain of salt or whatever, tastes will differ.

This place needs some serious help, the food was absolutely awful. I love going to the Texadelphia on Westheimer, and have been a loyal patron for years, this place is a whole different ball of yarn. Stopped in for Friday happy hour, and the place is bare bones. There are a couple of college flags but no posters, or anything! Large screen tvs, with a total of about 6 bar stools. I ordered a chicken sandwich, and honestly I wouldn’t give it to my dog. The chicken was frozen, skinny, and lifeless. My boyfriends chicken cheesesteak, was abysmal. It was gray, and sad. The only decent thing was the waffle fries. They had 4 or 5 young kids running around, and behind the quasi bar. I really hope this place gets better, with some decent food, it’s walking distance to my house, and really expected a lot better.

Man food… GOOD. ok, it’s really 3.5 stars but y’know… This place is new so there are some kinks but for«guy» food, this place is good. I’ve been to both Pat’s and Geno’s A LOT(Pat’s is king) and Texadelphia is 75% of that. Meats are tasty and toppings are overflowing. If you want Cheese Wiz on top(the only way to have a cheese steak), you must ask for it. The Philly Cheese fries are better than I thought. It’s served with seasoned waffle fries and more jalapenos than you would want. I can see why the Longhorns love this place. That mustard sauce is SOGOOD! I didn’t expect that stuff to be so good! And I don’t even like mustard! Cheese steaks were good! Total man food. I ordered the«Founder» and the wife ordered the«South Philly» and after our order came out, I realized the wife’s was on point! It was so tasty! Next time, I’m ordering the«South Philly» with double cheese wiz. If you don’t think Cheese Wiz is the way to go, you’ve never been to Pat’s or Geno’s and I understand why you don’t know. But have you ever heard someone say«you just don’t know!»? Well, this quote my apply to you. GOGETINFORMED! Fries don’t come with the meal(at least I didn’t see it offered) but you can order fries and I totally would(every time). The queso was okay. Fried pickles were okay(I like it with a lighter batter but this was a good tangent). According to the wife, the meals come with chips and salsa. The chicken tenders and the mini corn dogs were SOGOOOD! They disappeared so fast that I couldn’t even get a picture! Next time folks, next time. They were playing a golf tournament on most of the TVs and the projector today. Yeah, this place is more«man cave» and Sports bar than restaurant BUT that is not a bad thing. Drinks are self serve and they bring your food out to you. There is a full bar but it was 12 in the afternoon and I didn’t want to get started. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t in the future! Parking was plentiful and Bathrooms are a 5 out of 5. I love clean bathrooms. Menu and restaurant are kid friendly. Overall, Good Feel. Good prices. I would definitely make this a «once a week» lunch spot.

My wife and I ate here tonight with our 2 sons. Service was horrible — waiter forgot my 3 year old’s food when he brought everything else and then when prompted about it, he still never brought it(and naturally, he still tried to charge us for it). We had to refill drinks ourselves and go hunt down napkins and silverware. The cheesesteaks and queso were good however the chips were stale. Waitstaff doesn’t have any standard uniform so it is hard to tell who works there. We’ve always liked the food at this TX chain however this location is off to an auspicious start. They should probably revisit the counter service approach that worked so well at the former Memorial location.
