The capacitor on my A/​C unit failed (you can tell because the top of the capacitor bulges like a coke can in the freezer). I went to several places, but they either would not sell to me (wholesalers) or didn’t have the right part.
I brought the failed capacitor in to Transtar, and they brought me a replacement capacitor for $ 38. Replacing the capacitor was simple and took all of ten minutes.
According to some Googling, A/​C service companies will usually charge you between $ 200-​$ 500 for this simple task.
