Wolf’s Hamburger

Do not frequent this place because they are too expensive for the food served. But was close by and mom was hungry so we stopped in. The place was just a grimy as I remember and the waitstaff just as rude. We stopped in at 5:38 PM aware that they close as 6 PM. My mom was trying to be polite when she asked,“Is the kitchen still open?” To which the rude thing behind the counter retorts,“Barely!” Like if we walked in at 5:55 and expected them to cook us something. My mom was so embarrassed — never dreaming that someone would talk to an older person like that especially knowing that the kitchen was still open, she was just being nice saying that and expected the old girl (she sure was not a woman!) to simply reply that it was all good — we are welcome. Instead we get insulted! I was so pissed that she felt she had the right to quip back. HER JOB was to supply us the customer with food… EVEN if we did show up at five minutes until closing. My sweet mom looked at me and said, «Do you want to leave?» Meaning that she was humiliated and did not want to stay. I told her as loudly as I could,“Hell, yes! They don’t deserve our money!” and slammed their door. As we got back into our vehicle I noticed they had a HELP WANTED sign. THEY NEED IT! WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WILL CONTINUE TO DOG THIS PLACE TO ALL I KNOW AND MEET!!!

Called in an order for chili cheese fries and a sink salad. To start off the lady on the phone was extremely rude, and took forever to actually write my order and repeat it!
So I arrive at this «restaurant» and as I’m looking in my bag I ask where the chili cheese fries are and she says she didn’t write it down! She took forever and even repeated my order, but she didn’t write it down?! She blamed it on the phone, which the connection wasn’t the best, but if you know the phone is terrible then the owner needs to get a new one! Done with this rat hole!

A dirty and smelly dump. I walked in and looked around with my co-​worker and we talked briefly and then left. The board of health needs to come in and take a look at this filthy hole in the wall.

I’ve lived in channelview pretty much my entire life & not once have I bothered with this place. Until today.
Inside looks of a drab & almost rotting living room with an sorry attempt to look well, I was a little skeptical. Now, I understand what the term «feel at home» means & what it represents, but I don’t want to feel like I’m in a smokers home. Especially with children near by.
Now, to the food. I mean it’s not the greatest burger in within the area, it’s pretty moderate, didn’t like how the buns were a little cold. Tator tots were nice & crisp, onion rings were a little over battered & the fries were plain & dry as cheap bread (no flavor whatsoever)

Great place to get a tastes Berger! The owner is very nice and he tell me on Wednesday they have taco night, & they are the best! I had the bacon cheese Burger, fries and a drink. It was good and the price was reasonable! I would recommend this place! A++++

GOOD OLD FASHIONED BURGER. been in northshore my whole life and visit this establishment as often as i can with work being across town. nice and clean and non smoking for the health nuts out there lol. people sleep on thier SWEET TEA best in texas and has been made in the same cooler since i was a little boy. your best bet is the bacon cheeseburger double. ground fresh daily and same staff has been there for 30 plus years.

One of my favorite burger joints. Growing up in the North Shore/​Channelview area is restaurant is an institution. It’s one of those places that you know you’re going to get good food, period. I’m going to out right and say it, if you want ambiance, the décor or anything of that sort, and it’s pivotal your dining experience, this is not the restaurant for you. This is a enjoy your lunch, no frills, no fluff, just an honest to goodness burger.
Let’s get to the juicy part, I usually order the Bacon Cheeseburger Basket, with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mustard, and no Mayo, i’m not found of mayo on my burger for some reasone.
The buns nice and soft, the burger is nice and juicy, veggies were fresh, and the bacon was nice a crispy. Fries are nice and crispy. I can paint an elaborate picture, but it’s a cheeseburger and they are meant to be enjoyed not described.
If you live in the North Shore/​Channelview area this a must!

Friendly service, 30+year old CLEAN old school restaurant «just smells a little like smoke» but it’s not like I’m going to the Hyatt Regency, free refills and best of all, pretty good burgers, I’d of given them 5 stars if the patties weren’t the frozen universal kind but other than that, I won’t mind coming back.

I have read the reviews that state «you don’t come here for the ambiance.» However, my opinion is that a good dining experience involves good food, service, and a clean restaurant. I do not think that either can outweigh the others. If the food were so outstanding, the place should be a drive through and only that.
I walked in for lunch and found that the place was dirty. Boxes and what looked like old equipment were everywhere. The smell of smoke penetrated every inch of the restaurant. I could not stand the odor. The table we sat at was sticky. When I went to get water, I noticed the huge broken ice machine that was covered in dust and rust. It was unappealing to say the least. I do not know what level of cleanliness in the kitchen you can expect when there restaurant was in such disarray.
I ordered the chicken sandwich #2 and it turned out to be very good. However, I ordered it to go and at it back to my office. I could not get past the fact of how dirty and smelly that restaurant was. The service was less than exceptional. Nothing to take note of. I give two stars solely because of that sandwich. But this is based on what I feel a good restaurant should be.

The burgers were really quite good and the people gave good service. You don’t come here for the ambience or décor though. I had to knock a couple of stars off since the restaurant was mainly smoking (as in cigarettes) with only 2 small tables for non smokers. I have not been in such an eating establishment since I live in Illinois.

The Razorback Burger is off the chain. Bacon, ham and beef… MMmmm!

I recently stared working on the East side of town and my wife told me about Wolf’s Hamburger, Wolf Burger according to people in the know. I agreed to meet her there for lunch as burger are the greatest gift to man. Ordered a short-​horn and she had the hamburger and an order of onion rings. It did take almost 30 minutes from the time we ordered until it came out. We later found out a good number of people call in there order before they come in. Both burgers were great, the O-​rings were so so, not bad just not great. They do have a nice assortment of hot sauces and everyone who works there is really nice.
Something to keep in mind is that since this is not within the city limits of Houston, people can and do smoke inside the restaurant. As pro-​business owner choice for these matters I applaud it, as a diner, I try to sit as far away from them as possible.

The burgers are awesome. A stellar example of the breed. You order at the counter. The place is always full of working men and women on their lunch-​break.
Extra points for my personal addiction. Fried creamed corn nuggets. Probably lethal to your waistline but my goodness they are excellent.

Wolf’s Hamburger is full of win. The place is small and it gets pretty packed at lunch. You order at the counter and they bring out your food to your table. This joint has a pretty old-​school feel to it. The lady at the counter and the waitstaff were super friendly.
On to the burgers. You can either build your own burger or order one of the offerings from the menu (depending on how much stuff you want to pile on top of it). These burgers are so damn juicy, so make sure you get a whole bunch of napkins. They were really tasty and perfectly cooked. The last time I went there I got a turkey burger for a change of pace and surprisingly it was also very juice and tender, and not dried up like turkey burgers tend to get.
It seems not a whole lot of folks know about this place but I’d rate it right up there with some of the best burgers in town.
