I’m so glad Chuck’s came to Hudson! I’ve been listening to Katie K9 talk about them for years on the radio. The store is clean, well organized, staff is friendly, I always take one of my dogs in with me and they get lots of love from staff. We are always greeted immediately and asked if we need help. Be sure to become a «friend of Chuck’s». It is free. They send coupons with fantastic deals, and they also put out huge coupon books every few months, I just heard that next one is coming in a few days! Plus you get a free bag of food after you buy a certain number. They keep track of it for you. They have self service wash & dry stations, and events every week, adoptions, education, etc. They cheerfully carry out your big bag of dog food to your car, you don’t even need to ask. When you have a dog on a leash it’s awesome to not have to try to carry a bag over your shoulder or wrestle a cart thru the parking lot with 1 hand.

Gotta love Chuck and Don’s. But my god, when did dog good get so expensive? But I love that I can go into the store without seeing a bunch of caged birds and cute puppies that were born to mothers who spend their lives as nothing more than breeding machines.(Hello Petland — you’re evil.)

So — i have stopped in here at least three times since my last review and they do have some great coupons however the way they ring them up at the end are painstaking and ridiculous. You cannot see the prices ringing up and this bothers me. Also the fabulous staff person a young male never seems to be working and they have two younger girls that are always just chatting and will help if asked and I do ask but it is uncomfortable —I do not think they need two staff at store to be standing up at the checkout. It also bothers me that they have had the same two young kittens in a cage every time i go there that are up for adoption — i asked to take one out and they acted like i had to fill out an application just to see him and play with him. Those cats should be out getting handled by the staff if they have nothing to do. The need interaction and not just to be sitting in a cage all the time. They do not seem to be animal lovers and I do love the store but this totally plays a part in my experience.
