Hudson Nails

When I walked into the store I was greeted and seated right away. The lady who did my acrylic nails was extremely fast and paid attention to detail. If you’re going in for one treatment expect to be offered more. They will try to up sell you. However the prices are so reasonable that you can allow to treat yourself for multiple treatments for the same price as what one would cost else where. Excellent service and outstanding results for the price. I will definitely be coming back.

I’ve been back a few more times over the summer and I’m still very pleased with Hudson Nails. Most recently, I had a french mani pedi, 1 week ago. It was about $ 50. The nails still look good as new. I’ve been super hard on my mani, about 40 hours of typing, plus gardening, cleaning house, etc and no chips, peeling or discoloration whatsoever. Both of my nail techs were male this time. One guy did my hands, another one did my toes. No pressure to up sell, just a polite inquiry if I would like plain or nail art, and a menu to select from for pedi, I chose the basic which still included massage chair, soak, scrub, leg and foot massage, etc. Only drawback is everyone chattering constantly among themselves in a foreign language and acting like the customers are just hands and feet to work on, like they are working on mannequins. They all can speak English, they just choose to have private conversations among themselves.

The Wham-​Bam-​Thank you maaaaam of nail salons. I appreciate that they got me right in for a regular manicure but when the prices for mani/pedi’s are the same everywhere there is no reason I will ever return here. The lady tried to upsell me (of course!) on acrylic nails and when I declined then she went in for a pedicure cross-​sell. I declined again!
Be strong ladies or you will walk out totally waxed with thin ass eyebrows and acrylic toes and hands and possibly some makeup application!!! We have all been there.
So after she realized I just wanted a basic 15.00 manicure she proceeded to soak my hand in water for possibly 30 seconds a piece, barely filed my nail, and painted my nails and then did a little half ass rub/​massage on just the base of my fingers because my nails were just painted. I have never had this happen before. Typically the process is to soak, file, cut cuticles, they do a massage on your forearm and hands and then you wash your hands, sit back down and get your nails painted, let them dry and then your done.
Color my nails unimpressed…

If I am being honest this place is in the 2.5 star range…
+They do a good job, much better than the place by BWW
+Clean very clean
+ Price is reasonable, not a great value but same as I’d pay other places
–Unfriendly, they really are kind of rude
–High pressure upsale, they don’t like it when you don’t want more than one service.
— $ 1.00 upcharge for cc transactions PER service. If you get a mani the cost goes up $ 1.00 if you get a mani-​pedi, the price goes up $ 2.00
