Absolutely the worse service ever. Seated at 6:55 and no food at 7:50. We asked politely how much longer the food would be at 7:50 but the waitress said «honestly it could be a while… I have no idea». Remember we never complained and we’re polite, but 55 minutes is CRAZY! We just politely asked for our check and she still charged us for our drinks. So then the usual lady at the register (possibly the owner) asked how I was and I replied «I’ve been better» expecting her to acknowledge the issue… nope. She said have a good night and slammed the ticket on the counter. No… I’m sorry, no here is our excuse… basically get the hell out. This place gets worse every time we go and we have never complained ease the food us usually good. We will NEVER return and I am sure the owner could care less. ZERO STARS for zero effort.

Had a good bbq pork sandwich. Got onion rings for the side, they were kind of bland. Love the hush puppy they bring you when u first sit down.
Quick service is a plus!
The food is always pretty good. I also like the baked spinach side. Last time I was here I had the ribs, which are also very good.

This was our second visit, first was not very good and this one wasn’t any better…
Watched a table of 6 up and leave because their food was no where in sight while tables seated after them were eating.
Same happened to us, party of 7 and party of 2 seated well after our order was put in to the kitchen got all their food while we still waited. Had we not asked what was going on we’d still be there waiting. Only to find out they were now «plating» our food.
Food was ok, service not so much.

They’ve got an odd schedule for a restaurant. It’s always a guess if they’re open the days I want to go. But when they are, it is always packed.
I usually get the same thing every time. It’s just too perfect to change it up. I get their crispy wings as an appetizer but they never come out until way later when our entrees arrive, but they’re so good I keep getting them. The NorthCarolina style pork platter has a vinegar based bbq sauce and is my favorite. I can never choose between the hush puppies or the Texas toast, both are good. Choosing sides is always a toss up between the spinach Maria (best ever), side salad (because it’s huge), or a baked potato (because it is also huge).
Service can be a hit or miss. Most waitresses have been here for a long time and do a great job taking care of you. I haven’t personally used their catering services before but a friend of ours has and the everything was delicious. You can’t beat a whole catering size dish of their spinach Maria.

First time there, had lunch and it was really good. Both of us had the chopped pork sandwich w Brunswick stew n spinach Maria sides. I’ll definitely go back again soon.

Always delicious. I always enjoy their food. I have the brisket and my husband always had the Carolina style pulled pork. The Brunswick stew is delicious. If you like real barbeque, you’re going to like Ron’s. Can’t beat bbq tea and hush puppies!

Walked in and it instantly felt like I was in the 1950’s. The service was awful from the time I sat down. To make it worse as I sat with my girlfriend and our daughter I started hearing chatter about the movie American History X, the Civil and Revolutionary war and black people. Hudson is still very much a backwards town. The older generation is still passing down the teachings of whites being more superior than blacks. I would never recommended eating here. Especially if you are black. Oh and for the record I am as black as they come and my girlfriend is white. The same feelings I had were shared through her. Ron’s Barbeque needs to wake up and taste the watermelon. Written by I’m black and proud.

The food was dry and had no flavor. The server was unfriendly and another waitress made a comment about another couple that was looking for a place to sit saying there all tables my god how hard is it to figure that out. I’ll never go back there.

I walked in and instantly smelled the amazing aroma of smoked meat. It wasn’t too overpowering, but it lit up my taste buds. Ambient noise from the other guest — but not loud at all.
Our waitress promptly came over and set down a plate of hush puppies and took our drink order.
My guest and I decided on pulled pork sandwich and a pulled pork platter. It took about 10 – 15 minutes for it to arrive
Taste was superb, classic bbq — and a good selection at the table if you want extra. Portion sizes were perfect also… I had to box the hush puppies — they’re sweet, in comparison to others which have no taste.
We’ll be returning!

Food was terrible. The beef brisket was practically roast beef cole cuts. The beans taste like they came straight from a can. The coleslaw was mediocre. It blows my mind how that place can be sooo packed sometimes. We will not be going back.

Waited over 25 minutes for our food. Finally arrives disappointed to say the least. My ¼ chicken consisted if chicken thigh and leg. Cooked to death. Cole slaw bland pre-​packaged the beans are from a flipping can!!! This was the 2^nd time we tried this place. NEVER AGAIN

Probably ate here 3 or 4 times in a 18-​month period. It was always good. Being consistent is never easy in a restaurant setting and Ron’s gets it right. They know what they are and don’t try to overdo things. Pulled pork, fish specials, you name it. Everything here has a sense of quality to it that makes coming back a no brainer. I do agree with the reviewer who cautions to arrive early. Ron’s can fill up, and will do so with lots of older diners who have all day to linger over their meals. Just a word of advice.

Get there early. …they get very busy! If you are going for dinner, I recommend getting there by 4:30 at the latest! This is especially true during snowbird season and on Friday and Saturday nights. I love Ron’s. I love their ribs especially! They have yummy baked beans, a delicious creamed spinach dish and excellent hush puppies that are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I have to eat gluten free now so I can’t have them anymore which delight those who eat there with me because I give my hush puppies away to them.
The service there is very good too but ONLY if you go early. If you go when they are packed, expect to wait a long time to be seated, a long time to be have your order taken and a long time to be served.
The atmosphere here leaves a lot to be desired too. They really crowd them in.
Overall the quality of their food is what gives them so many stars. It REALLY is good so just make sure you don’t find yourself having to experience all of their negatives.

Been stoping in here for years … Always great pulled pork, hushpuppies and sweet tea … Priced good and you can even get stuff by the pound to go

Ate here twice. The first time I had the rib’s. I’ve had a lot better at many other stores in the area. The second time I had chicken, it was better but not great. the portions were large, but that only counts if the food is good enough to eat as a leftover. this was not.
The noise level was very high, I had to turn my hearing aids off and couldn’t hear anything being said at our table.
