Surprisingly good! Lots of GF options and inexpensive… we came here for lunch and tried the Tuscan Salami Panini and the Urban Fig & Chicken Panini. The restaurant layout has smaller tables and gift shop items for you to browse through while you wait for your food. If I visit Hudson again I will definitely be back!

I used to come here all the time and it was great! But the place has really disappointed me the last few times. There are a lot of gluten free options, but it is not celiac friendly(same cook space for gluten and«gluten free») and very expensive($ 1 extra for each price of gf bread, $ 1 for 6 gluten free crackers instead of croutons) I will not be coming back. I Told the chef I got sick and he said it was my fault because I didn’t specify it was for an allergy. Can I rate –5 stars because that was completely unacceptable!

This place seems to be getting more popular and I’m glad i stopped in for lunch last week and can comfortable bump them up a star. I love the menu and would be happy to eat anything on there. I decided to have the mushroom, caramelized onion, and brie soup — absolutely warm, earthy, and velvety. I also had hummus – very good. I got coffee and my creamer came in a small gurgle pot.(love that!) The iced tea two men were enjoying at the table next door was delivered in a personal sized gurgle pot. My server was friendly and I noticed they now have a back room to seat people in also.

Sorry this will be lengthy but is necessary to explain this bizarre situation. Our bad experience started the moment the waiter came to the table. He asked if we were there for painting and we said no that we wanted dinner. They had a bunch of easels set up in the rear of the restaurant. He looked up at the clock and said, well, oh, ok I guess we have enough time. They close at 8 pm and it was now just before 6? Not sure what that all meant. My wife had called earlier to ask about the possibility of maybe having them blend up some soup when we arrived. I had extensive cancer surgery on my tongue last year which has left me with the inability to move anything but liquid food around in my mouth normally and has limited me to a pretty straight liquid diet. When the waiter came back to take the order we asked about getting some soup blended or strained. He said, yeah I know I was told about your call and we really don’t have a blender so we cant do that. This must have bene a huge topic among the staff after my wife called. I asked if the kitchen had a handheld strainer that they could strain out the firmer pieces and just leave the liquid as I wanted to order a bowl of soup. He went to check, returned and said no, «she said» can not guarantee that all the particles would be removed.(not sure who«she» was) someone told me the owner? I said that a basic kitchen strainer has small enough mesh that it would be just fine. At this point our waiter was starting to get a little testy. He lefty and returned and said that they decided to strain a cup but couldn’t do a bowl??? I said I appreciate that but this is all i am having for dinner so I really hard my heart set on a bowl size portion, is there a reason I cant buy a bowl? He then proceeded to tell me that the«she» said that they cant do that large of an amount because it will drastically change the formulation of the soup? In amazement I said well do you make each soup serving its own batch and separate preparation or do you have a big pot of it? He said no its a big pot made all at once so I remarked, well I don’t understand how that would change anything. He then continued to banter about the process and how it would be too involved to do. I gave it one last shot before showing my building irritation and said, just let me ask this. If you ladle out a bowl of soup and then take said bowl of soup and dump it into a mesh strainer which empties into another bowl, how does that effect the batch of soup itself? I realize that the total volume of soup I may end up with will be less as there won’t be the mass of the mushrooms or whatever bulk is filtered out, I just want something I can put in my tummy. Without saying a word he turned and left and returned a few minutes later and said I’m sorry she cant do that but will still do the cup if you want it. I said no thanks I don’t want anything.(In hindsight I should have just ordered two cups, silly me) but given their reluctance they probably wouldn’t have sold me two. At that point we should have just left but decided to order for my wife as we had planned this special night out. She also ordered a cup of the mushroom soup and a sandwich. No special conditions, we learned our lesson. Soup came with a delivery from a silent waiter. No crackers or bread or anything with it. Didn’t see the waiter again until well after my wife was finished with her meal. Then my wife ate her sandwich and we chatted waiting for the waiter. He never came back during my the meal to check and make sure she was satisfied.(extremely important in customer service!) He finally arrived picked up the plate, never even asking then, if everything was ok, but did ask if we needed anything else and he was quite cold in his demeanor. He departed again for sometime and we waited a considerable amount of time before he brought the bill. He placed it on the table and turned and left with out a word. Pretty bad when the staff takes on an attitude like this. It was blatantly obvious he was displeased with my efforts it trying to have something a little special. BTW there were no others in the restaurant eating, just the painters in the back? Not by any means am I insinuating that I get special treatment due to my condition, but asking for some soup to be strained? Is that to much! And then to get poor service and attitude because of a simply request? Oh well god luck«She»

Easily the best lunch I’ve ever had. Had a Cuban sandwich following a bowl of mushroom, onion, and brie soup. The soup was phenomenal. Put some of it in your face. We drove several miles out of the way to eat here on a recommendation and it was 150% worth it. Get the soup, have one of several tasty sandwiches expertly-prepared, and enjoy some hot tea in their small, but homey establishment.

The wife and I stopped by and checked out this place based on the unique name and of course the strength of its Unilocal reviews. This is nice little place serving quality grub and wonderful service. Both of the Paninis we got were very good. The wife felt the chicken with fig jam was a little too sweet, but I enjoyed it. The water is also lemon water which was a nice touch and very refreshing. They also have a coffee bar and a bakery selection. This is a great little spot that deserves your business if you’re craving a quality meal.

Fab. U. Lous. We stopped in for lunch(per Unilocal’s recommendation) when we were in Hudson a couple of weeks ago. Man, am I glad we did. First of all, the place is adorable — as is the sweet older lady(owner maybe?) greeting you upon your arrival. They have a really cute selection of pottery, olive oils, etc. lining the walls, and a mixture of seating(high tops and regular tables.) It looks like the back room houses a great little wine bar which has live music some nights. We were seated promptly, given our choice of seating, and brought water right away. Our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. She made recommendations for my mom, who is gluten-free, and also went through each part of her meal to let her know what was gluten-free. My mom and I each had a bowl of chicken tortilla soup which was delish — just the right among of spice and heat with generous chunks of chicken and tortilla strips. We all had sandwiches for lunch, although their selection of salads, share platters, as well as homemade quiche, all looked amazing! My mom and I both had the turkey cranberry panini — which had swiss cheese, fresh greens, and a wonderful cranberry aioli. The other two ladies we were lunching with both got the chicken and fig panini. I split some of my friend’s and it was really great as well. All of the sandwiches were served with fresh veggies and a yummy dipping sauce. We were all way too full for dessert, but their display case was very tempting! All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Urban Olive & Vine. In fact, I’m already planning another trip to the charming town of Hudson just so I can eat there again!

We decided to detour to Hudson after apple picking in Stillwater. So glad we decided to both snoop around the quaint and historic village as well as grab a great lunch at Urban Olive and Vine. This country chic café was so cozy with a window alcove seating area for two, slightly dimmed lights, fiery orange flowers dressing up the tables, an array of mouthwatering baked goods on the counter, and bottles of their very own olive oils and stainless steel containers decorating the walls. The menu consisted of salads, paninis, wraps, and quiche. We opted for the cranberry turkey panini and their special salad, blueberry fig with goat cheese and sliced almonds. Both were fabulous(and I am not a salad person)! I would totally recommend checking out Urban Olive & Vine if you’re in the area.

A friend and I had brunch here today, the first visit for either of us. We got a few things so we could share and sample them. We started with a fresh-squeezed lemonade and a chai tea. We got the Urban Combo, with the Spicy BLT quiche and the Mushroom, Caramelized Onion, and Brie soup. The soup was fantastic, like the perfect blend of the tastiest onion soup and cream of mushroom soup. The quiche wasn’t too spicy, but had a wonderful mix of flavors. A slice of orange and a slice of pineapple were there as palate cleansers. We also got the Duck & Egg Croissant. The textures and flavors were amazing. The plum sauce gave just a touch of sweetness. We had room for dessert, and shared a triple-chocolate brownie that was surprisingly light. It had just enough chew to it, too. The service was on a par with the food. Pleasant, helpful, willing to answer questions. She brought extra cutlery and napkins without prompting. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. We’d definitely go back. They had signs up describing a to-go picnic lunch that sounded equally delicious. But sitting in the restaurant, relaxing and enjoying the food, was definitely the order of the day.

Our food was great – one had quiche and two had paninis. We didn’t have a glass of wine, but it was Tuesday and wine bottles were half price so wish I wouldn’t have been driving! It is also a store with several gourmet items and an olive oil/vinegar bar. The back room is a nice dim wine bar.

We’re being a little generous with the 5 stars, but the fact of the matter is… it is SO easy to eat gluten-free here! The staff was super helpful and for two of us gluten-free peeps to have lunch and not have to worry about a thing, it was wonderful. The café is full of cute things you’ll want to buy and they sell AMAZING gluten-free pasta imported from Italy. We wouldn’t make this place a destination, but if you’re in the area & gluten-free, definitely check it out!
