The staff was friendly and helpful. However, I could hear every single sound and it made it difficult to sleep.

So I’m going to be a little fair, this is, after all, a ‘cheap’ airport hotel. Anyways it wasn’t too terrible. The room was clean and I didn’t notice any critters running around. If you get room 322, it will smell like smoke, even though it’s smoke-free, but that’s because it’s surrounded by smoking rooms. The sheets are worn almost through and the fixtures could stand for repair or replacement. The person at the front desk was actually very nice and helpful, and the shuttle is convenient albeit strict about their departure times. Would I stay here again? Probably not. Was it worth the $ 100 I paid? Probably not. Does it work in a pinch? Yup.

You get what you paid for. I knew I was staying at a cheap hotel, but there are a few things I think would be helpful for others to know: 1. Although the website states free wi-fi, they only have ONE wireless router, and it’s located in the lobby. That means unless you are staying in a room close to the lobby, you won’t be able to access wi-fi from your room. Went I went to the lobby there were a lot of other guests also there for the same reason. 2. The walls are very thin. I saw this in other reviews, but note that noise from outside and other rooms carries into your room. If you have a choice, ask for an inside room as the parking lot traffic can get quite loud and doesn’t stop throughout the night. 3. If you are over 6’6 you will not be able to stand in the shower. You shouldn’t have high expectations when paying $ 50 a night, but the toilet in my room didn’t flush and the shower water temp fluctuated wildly every 15 seconds. Maybe it was higher priced due to OTC going on, but this reminds me more of a $ 30 a night place, not $ 50.

Are you stranded in Houston because of an airline problem? Please read and consider this an open letter. Dear Muffin, You are likely exhausted, frustrated, tired, hungry. My heart goes out to you. More than likely you’re about to shell out hard-earned dinero because an airline dropped the ball – and because they have all the airplanes, and you don’t have your own… somehow this means they get to rig the game. It sucks. Go ahead and raise your fist to the sky – vent your rage! But what I’m about to tell you will save you from making a bad situation worse: Avoid this darn hotel. Don’t call them. Don’t. Don’t. 1) Rude service. The lady on the phone was pushy with me from the moment I first called(just to make sure they had double-occupency rooms available.) She tried to make me make a reservation even though I told her I only had a couple questions. She told me if I didn’t make reservations she couldn’t guarantee they would still have rooms when I called back in five minutes. Oh really? Cute. Strike 1. Ended up having to book with them and called her back to get shuttle service. She was pushy with me again(evening letting out a sigh of frustration) while I struggled to see which part of the(unfamiliar) airport we were in. Oh yeah? Strike 2. We went to the area in the terminal where she instructed us to wait, having given us cryptic directions. «Go to baggage. Go to limosines. Don’t go to «hotel shuttles.» Our shuttle doesn’t say«Baymont» it says«Rocket.» Are you surprised when I tell you we missed the shuttle? Upon calling her back, instead of being helpful and nice to obviously tired and frustrated passengers, she told me I was in the wrong place and wasted no time telling me whose fault it was(Hint: Of course it wasn’t her fault). Strike 3. When we got to the hotel she greeted us with a betch-face. Yeah. I made my husband check us in while I waited outside. 2) Worst. Shuttle. Ever. I think the hotel uses a third party shuttle service? If I stuck a Glade plug-in up my nose, it wouldn’t smell stronger than this shuttle. Bumpy is an understatement – being inside this thing is probably akin to being in a stagecoach. The cherry on the sundae? Not only did it take him 45+ minutes to collect us(from a hotel four miles away), but on our way to grab fast food after checking in at the hotel we saw him drive past us and park at a Sit-N-Go for like. 30 minutes. But I guess we all have gas-station related needs. 3) No detail attended to. An obviously permanent sign marked the soda machine as having«NOBOTTLEDWATER.» Why can’t you replace it? Your patrons will likely need this life-giving liquid. The ice in the ice machine was dirty. There was a chunk taken out of a wall next to my room, as well as a large section of tiling missing from our bathroom. The carpet was gross and ancient. This was not a place you really want to be in. I was stunned when there were no bed bugs and only one large silverfish in the bathroom. The rooms were stifling and smelled like an old person’s closet. 4) Rude service. Again. A guy in the morning called us at 5:20am(sharp) to tell us we had three minutes to get down to the shuttle before it would depart for the airport without us. Our reservation was for 5:30am. We all ran downstairs(my boy, Jesus, still had his toothbrush in his mouth)… where we promptly waited ten minutes for the shuttle to show up. SERIOUSLY? Now here is absolutely the best part. Scroll down on this page, because the manager’s name is Ashish Patel. Notice the first review on this page? Yeah. He wrote his own positive review. Classy right? In short: skip the hell out of this hotel. Go. Anywhere. Else. Now, have that glass of wine before you head off to wherever it is you’re trying to get to. You deserve it. Sincerely, Lacey

The shuttle from the airport was prompt and the staff was friendly. The hotel is close to the airport and is in decent condition. However, that isn’t enough to rate this hotel very high. I found a cockroach in my bathtub. And while the hotel let me change rooms, that doesn’t excuse the fact that there was a cockroach in my room. I went to the on-site gym later that evening and found yet another cockroach. There was no TV remote in my room. And my room key wouldn’t work after every 24 hour period. I had to keep taking it down to the front desk after returning from work each day. Very inconvenient. And having to watch a promotional video every time you want to connect to WiFi was terribly annoying.

Hotel staff was nice. Rooms were decent but you could hear people above and next to us. I would recommed staying on 3rd floot to minimize noise.
