Pilates By Linda

I can not rave enough about this studio and instructors!
First and foremost, everyone is lovely, helpful and welcoming. It can be intimidating to join a new gym but Linda and her staff made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. Secondly, the instruction is fantastic. I took the initial private trainings to prepare me for the group classes and it was great. The workout was targeted, explained wonderfully, and got me excited to start group classes. The group classes are small so the instructor is able to correct your form when needed but you still feel the energy from the other participants which make me want to go the extra mile.
I’m so happy to have found Pilates by Linda. If you’ve ever wanted to try Pilates, this is a wonderful place to begin and continue your journey!

I just started pilates about 6 weeks ago and I am loving it and loving this studio. The hours are very convenient and they even have Saturday hours which is very important for me as a working mom. The location is great, there is always parking and studio is clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the classes I want are always packed and I do not get in 100% of the time into the Thursday class and that happens to be the most convenient time for me.
If you are new to pilates like I am, you are required to take 3 private classes but you get a discount on them and it comes out to $ 100 for 3 private classes (normally one costs $ 60-​$ 70). I felt that those classes are necessary to get you up to speed. Although they do not leave you alone in class and the instructor always corrects you when you are doing something wrong or helping you when you don’t know how to do something. I took classes with Karen, Alyssa, Brittany, Linda, and one more lady (don’t know the name). Each one was very helpful and each has her own area of expertise.
The only class I didn’t like was Monday night reformer class — the teacher was not helpful, i was left to my own devices most of the time and felt like I had to learn from looking at others and that slowed me down. Also before you are finished the move, she already tells you what to do next, so you are kind of loosing your concentration and as a result quality of the move you are currently doing suffers. That’s the thing about pilates — it requires a lot of concentration. A good teacher lets you complete the exercise before telling you what to do next, after all it’s a beginner class. So when I took Monday class i felt like I paid for equipment rental and not the actual class.
