Always a line at checkout 2 lanes open in nearly every OC and LA county maybe 3 but they have 8 or 9 check-stands…I am use to it though for a dollar on things that would have totaled more than $ 20 at a grocery store I make this place my first stop. On the bright side I have always experienced lovely employees! The tall young girl with colored hair and glasses, the other young girl with perfect winged liner both usually seen at checkout and an experience I have to rave about a time I went in asking for some boxes from the receiver who told me he had to pee so badly first before helping me, I agreed politely to wait and had a bad feeling that this man with horrible lack of customer service be the type to wash his hands and mulled over whether or not to flag down another person for help, then came Vince he came right up to me and asked how he could help and immediately went to the back and brought me all the boxes he could find! THANKYOUVINCE! Such a sweet man. Smile at the employees, ask them how their days are going because many people forget going into a corporate run place and anywhere for this matter THEEMPLOYEESAREUNHAPPYBECAUSETHEMANAGEMENTISNOTGOOD!

Really messy and the lines are long(15 – 18 people in each line). Only two registers open. Doesn’t make sense.

Seriously, people are giving poor scores for the 99 cent store? This is a store that sells everything for $ 1. Every complaint you could possibly have should be answered in your own head by saying«but everything is a dollar». Honestly, I come here a lot, but mostly it’s great for taking photos. I like to pretend I’m Andreas Gursky. Also, lots of interesting people chilling around in their own worlds. Everyone who works here has been very kind and helpful, much more so than I would be if I were getting minimum wage at a discount store. Sometimes there are surprises and they go fast. Mostly what I buy here is hummus and carrots.

The manager refused a cashier their break in front of everyone and moved us to her line. The line didn’t move and it caused 4 people behind us in the previous line to be served before us. Then we jumped back into the original line where I made a complaint. The managers response was«Sorry, but you’re being helped now at least right?» No. A.) That employee deserves get break and some assistance. B.) The manager should’ve let us stay in the other cashiers line to begin with and we’d have been helped faster. I told the young man ringing us up that I’m sorry his coworker is being treated like that and they deserve better. He said«They always treat us badly here. It’s just the way it is.» I’ll shop at dollar tree where the staff seems happier and better managed. Sad.

super cheap Pepsi, Starkist tuna, Jamba juice energy drinks… I can’t complain. The store looked messy and the ‘fresh’ fruit//veggies looked pathetic. I’ll check my junkmail for their ads in the future but I won’t browse and lounge around there like I would Whole Foods or Trader Joes.

The 99 cent store is awesome! It’s the greatest place ever for certain finds that are inexpensive! Just watch out to b sure that whatever you get is good quality. Certain items I don’t get here like lotion, and creams, and certain things because I want quality over price. But they have zest soap and good deodorant that my man and I both use and it’s great! I mean this place makes me feel that America is fair after all! :-)

This is for Adrian, the store manager. I purchased several items on Labor Day for a party. While your store is nicely clean, you only have one employee, Jacob, who is worth his weight in gold! There was maybe a dozen people in the store, no one at the cashier, who never looked up when I asked for help. The man retrieving carts, didn’t speak any English when I asked for help, and the people in the back room were too busy talking! Thank God for Jacob! He should be cloned and sent to all customer service classes to show people how to treat people!

Never been here and I thought I would see. This is where the nightmare started. One person working the register and 20 people in line. Not everything is .99 cents and of course cheap priced attract some zombies looking for a deal and argue it’s more than .99… The cashier Barb is a clueless complaining employee that is unhelpful and has no clue how to operate the register… My advice is Stay away from this place. Homeless living out of the parking too. Nothing worse than urine smell in the parking lot on a hot day.

We’ve all seen The People of Wal-Mart pics/vids:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX86viXrV4. I refuse to patronize Wal-Mart, but by stopping by my local 99 Cent Store I can still witness some sad and rude bargain seekers. Why oh why do most of their patrons have this vacant zombie like stare? And no one says excuse me when they push their way next to you in line. No thank yous when you place the counter divider thingy down for them. Who are these people in my neighborhood, and where do they come from? Surely not my neighbors. I only pop in here once in a blue moon when I need some cheap 4th of July or other holiday decorations. Well there is one other item I stop in here for, but cannot put in print. Oh the service? See above regarding the patrons.

I admit it. I am a fan. I would rather pick up my soap refills, ice, and certain other stuff here for 99 cents, and save my paycheck for craft brews, good food, and other stuff. PLUS the holiday stuff that you just collect and throw away — WHY??? i get that stuff right here at the good old local 99 cent store. This location is clean, pretty organized, and you never hove to wonder how much something costs. oh — and this is THE place to take a small child to and announce«Pick out anything you want in the entire store!!!»

Can’t say I prefer this location since my closest 99 Cent Store is on Brookhurst and Westminster. I can vouch that this location doesn’t have random crazies coming up to you for help. This location also has a much better parking situation than the Westminster location. From what I could see, things were kept in order here. There were also more registers opened than I am used to– about 4 or so. Mostly everything I came here for(supplies for a Thanksgiving party) were available. Although I think 99 Cent Store has Dollar Tree beat in the variety department, I can’t overlook Dollar Tree’s cleanliness and similarity among stores no matter which one you visit, making it very easy to grab what you need and go.

This used to be my favorite place to bargain shop. Then, Dollar Tree came to the area. I LOVE the Dollar Tree, and they are cleaner and friendlier in there as well. Anyway, came to this store Friday evening looking for some Hannah Montana items. I asked an employee if they had any, she said no. Then she said they had some pencils but that was it. I walked around the store, and found a few items — one of each — like a bowl, a plate, a cup, etc. I headed to the check out stand and there was an ENTIRE huge bin of Hannah Montana items, on clearance… 4 for 99 cents. I just dont have the desire to shop here anymore… Ive lost the love.

I never would have thought that I would be writing a review of a 99 cent store. It’s a place even worse than Walmart, and I wrote two reviews of that place, so I suppose that even the lowest of the low can receive a review from me. I’ll keep it short as I can’t stand the place and don’t have anything good to say about it. This past weekend we were in search of a large straw or something that could be fashioned into a large straw. We had a very long glass that we were going to filled with a margarita. We heard that there might be some large Pixy Stix there, so we made a quick stop to pick some up. Well after a few minutes in the place, we could not find any Pixy Stix. So we turned around and left. Hopefully i won’t have to go back there for any reason. Filthy, disgusting place.
