We had a party of 20 women from High School and had reservations at BJs at 1:00PM We waited at BJs until 1:45PM and still had no table. We called Lazy Dog and asked them if they could get us a table for 20 to 22 people. We walked across the street walked in our table was ready for us. The service was great, our waitess Denise was wonderful, even did seperate checks for all of us. The food was fantastic. We will make sure we come back again. Thanks also the manager Dillion for setting this all up for us and making our get together a success. Great Job. Thanks Bonnie Lockhorst

So first off I never write reviews on Unilocal but today was worst than most. I have come to this BJs for a while now and I have always had decent to great service! Until tonight. We had ordered around 10:00PM and for 30 minuets still had gotten our food. Thinking BJs is just busy, so we gave our waitress a little more time. 15 more minuets and we finally had asked when our food would be coming out. Our waitress then apologized and told us she FORGOT to put in our order!!! It took her a full 45 minuets to realize she had forgotten? Ridiculous. Then, she offered us a soup or salad«on her». Politely declining, just wanting our main course. 15 more minuets pass and now we have been waiting 1 hour for our dinner!!! It had FINALLY came out after an hour. Dessert time. Thinking… «Let’s order early so this doesn’t take forever» we ordered two pazookies, 1 regular sized pazookie, which we had asked our waitress about because it was said to be «free pazookie day»(with a purchase of a meal) and 1 mini pazookie. Right after we had ordered dessert our waitress gave us the check. On the check was our two entrees and 2 full price pazookies. WRONG. So I flagged down the waitress and readdressed the free pazookie deal. Took 10 minuets to get the correct bill and 20 total minuets to receive our dessert. And in the end we got 1 apology, the price of 2 entrees, and 1 mini pazookie. Making it a total of $ 48.00 and bad service.

I order here on a regular basis at least once a week food is usually fantastic and the service but the last month or two it has really gone down hill we waited two hours for a delivery one time the food was cold and the order was wrong the last two times I have gone they have made me wait 20 minutes even though I called it in30 minutes before hand not sure if it’s new people in training or new management but I hope they figure it out otherwise I will have to find a new place to go

Food is good but do not go for happy hour Friday. Specials are only offered in the bar area but the area is small and people take up a 4 top with 2 people. You cannot get the HH specials in the restaurant. I can take my money elsewhere and so should you.

Not surprised that they only have 3 stars. I love the pizza and shoestring fries with ranch(among other menu items). We were in here twice within 10 days and both times did not have a good experience. The first evening our server was terrible. We had to ask her twice for our drinks, twice for ranch, twice for our check and three times for a to-go box. By the end she was no longer apologizing and said, «Here», then left. A good portion of her time was spent flirting with the table next to us. It took us over 2 hours, from the time we got our food, to get our check and leave. We called in a pizza for carry out the following week. All we wanted was a good pizza without the poor service. When we got home, the pizza was wrong and one of the best parts, the tomatoes, weren’t even on the pizza and it was so dry. It was missing other toppings as well. Next time we know to check it before we leave. I’ve truly never had a pizza screwed up for delivery or carry out and didn’t think to check it. We should’ve known. I gave 3 stars because of management. If something isn’t right, they make sure it is before you leave(if dining in). It will probably be a long time before we come back, as we have a bad taste in our mouths after these last two incidents. If it wasn’t for the managers and how they care about the customers, we probably wouldn’t come back. Thank you to management, I think Jesse helped us both times. You make a bad experience, better. If only your staff cared as much.

BJ’S is a great restaurant for family and friends. They have good food lots of choices. Their deep dish pizza is so good. We had a wedge salad, deep dish pizza and desert pizookie. Pizookie is a large warm cookie with ice cream. The best thing about BJ’S is the service. Tonight Jordan was our server. So attentive felt like we were at Ruth Chris steak house. Never waited for anything. He has eyes like an eagle. Great job Jordan. 10 stars to Jordan and the great service, all staff is so friendly. Great night out.

** FORTHEBANQUETEXPERIENCE ** Okay, so I came here with my sports team from school for an end-of-year awards banquet. I came a bit late to the event so I did not catch the beginning, but when I came in, the restaurant in general looked very well-decorated and designed. It is quite dim when stepping inside so it’s a good idea to be careful, but the warm, overhanging lights gave the place a very welcoming and warm/homely atmosphere. So far, I was impressed. I walked towards the end of the building and was surprised to see an open room-like structure towards the back. This was the place for the banquet, and it was open to the public. I’m not critiquing this for my privacy but rather for the other restaurant-goers; we were quite loud with the applause and I’m sure that was not pleasant to hear when you are trying to enjoy dinner with your family. In general, the banquet room was of a good size with two TV’s and about 6 side tables as well as two long tables in the center. It was a little crowded, but that may have just been my party. Again, the lighting was dim but very warm, so the place felt very homely and cozy– something which I enjoyed. The food, set towards the back of the room, was, overall, mediocre. We ordered a variety of pizzas, Caesar salad, and chicken alfredo pasta. The serving style was very similar to that of a buffet(with much less selections). I got a little of each and went back to the table with my friends. The pizza by itself was very good with an amazing crust, but it was quite salty. The pasta was good, but nothing special. The Caesar salad was also good but not incredibly so. I don’t think I will come again if I were on my own. In the end, it was good experience for a banquet, being with my friends and enjoying the team atmosphere. However, as a regular diner, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much, and due to that, I don’t think I will return.

I’ve had a lot of mixed experiences at this restaurant. From what I’ve seen and what my close friends and family have told me, the waiters and waitresses will either make your experience a good one or a very bad one. On the good days, a waiter will seat us in the appropriate size booth/table, take my order while asking all the right questions, and deliver the food after 25 minutes(which is not bad during their busiest times). On the bad days, they will seat you in a very cramped location, it will take about 20 minutes for a waiter to even approach you to ask what you’re ordering, and over half an hour later the food comes in somewhat cold. I’m not saying I’ll never come back to this BJ’s, it’s one of the few restaurants close to home that feels more appropriate for a nice restaurant dinner than the other places in Bella Terra. Just beware that you might not get a good experience the first time around. P. s. I know I did not review their pizzas and other famous dishes, but think everyone knows they’re food is pretty good and many Unilocalers already have good reviews posted(woot woot!)

Had a great time here a couple of weeks ago. My coworker and I came here for their late happy hour and sat at the bar. The bartender(it was a Monday night and he was a 25ish year old man) was AWESOME. Very friendly service. He didn’t even care that my friend only ordered a soda(at first… hah!) We just got some apps. I got the stuffed mushrooms and she got their seared ahi salad. Both very tasty. I loved the mushrooms the most. It was pretty busy for a Monday night, so this location must be doing something right. Their late happy hour is awesome, check it out!!!

I’ve been here enough times to pretty much say this place is average. Their sandwiches are okay, their pizza is okay(bbq chicken is my favorite), and their pasta is okay. To wait 40 minutes on a weeknight for average food sounds like highway robbery to me. The thing that saves this establishment in my fine opinion is of course the Pizookies. Where else would you get a delicious combination of hot cookie and cold ice cream mixed together to create a plethora of hybrid flavors?

First off I want to start by saying I love bj’s brewery, and it’s been one of my favorite places to enjoy myself for years now. Since I’ve been going also I’ve had only maybe one poor experience because of service. Still not bad enough to keep me from coming back though. So now for my review on this location. I love it! Probably tied for my favorite location overall, cerritos being the other one. This location though is great. It’s one of the smaller ones, but still give off a nice intimate ambiance. Also the service is great. Most notably the bartender chris. We went for happy hour and not only did he remember us but remembered our drinks and everything. I know it’s not the craziest thing, but it’s definitely the little things like that, that make u feel welcomed and coming back! Either way I’m going to continue to come back to bj’s because I just love it so much, but this location will definitely be on top of the list now thanks to their great customer service.

This applies to all BJ’s because they are all basically the same. They are«A-OK» as the 3 stars applies. Exception the location on main street in Huntington Beach gets an extra star for the entertainment factor of watching the people on Main Street. The food at all is decent, the same at all location, and super mainstream. You would choose BJ’s the same way you would choose McDonalds, you know exactly what you are going to get. But unlike McDonalds I am not offended by what is offered nor am I Wowed. I think they might even clone their wait staff, because the service is always the same — that is not a bad thing, I have always appreciated the attentive, yet non overbearing attention. Last time I went in I had the Ahi Poke appetizer and an IPA. Both were good quality The Ahi was fresh and sushi quality, tasted great and made me happy. The IPA was decent for a brewery that caters to the taste of the masses. Yes go there especially if you are going with a group that has varying tastes, they will have something for just about everything.(Vegan options are a joke) Hense a cheat meal of ahi.

4th of July weekend, 2013, was the time I [first] wrote this review. Fast-forward three years later — things kind of went a bit downhill, but not in a bad way that I wouldn’t come back here again; no, not that bad. Let me give you the run-down on my experience [today] I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken, and it came with a side of mashed potatoes. I wanted a full BAKED potato instead, so the waiter, Cory, was kind enough to switch my potatoes to a baked potato instead of mashed. Okay, first trip of my order: The sour cream and the butter both were on the side, when I wanted to get all of them ONTOP of the potato like people usually do. So, they took my plate back, and the chef put the chives, butter, and sour cream on top for me. Second trip: I didn’t see the pepper gravy on my chicken, so I kindly asked them to put the gravy on top of the chicken. They put the gravy on top of the chicken. Yes, I know those are small issues, but I’m sometimes OCD about things like that — again, not to say it’s a bad thing, but on the other hand, I’m not Mr. Perfect. :) All in all, the food(and service) today was at par, so I may try again another day.

Came here with family to celebrate my brother’s 17th birthday last weekend. It was fairly crowded on a Saturday Night and luckily, we were seated within 25 minutes. There were a lot of options to choose from regarding food and our waiter, Rori, was very helpful. My table got nachos and fried calamari as our appetizers which were very good and tasty. For the entrée, I ordered the balsamic chicken which was also pretty good, but I wouldn’t get it again due to a weird wine-ish taste. My brother got a candle-lit pizookie as his birthday dessert which was cute although none of the waiters joined in to sing him a happy birthday song which was sad. I wouldn’t come back unless I’m being dragged here for a celebration, but it was okay when I went.

So good I’ve come back 2x in one week! LOL! I was in the area this week and my sister wanted to grab lunch here on Monday, once again the menu has changed for the better, some things I am sad they took off the small plates, those were the jam! Anyways, they added a new pasta section and OMG! We tried the Jumbo Meatballs and Spaghetti and it was delicious! Super saucy and cheesy just the way I like it! It does have a bit of a kick to it(my sister can handle anything spicy so it wasn’t a big deal for her LOL), I couldn’t think about anything else except that Spaghetti for the rest of the week until I came back today! My sister thought we should get the spaghetti AND the baked ziti! Baked ziti was out of the park too! Super ooey gooey with cheese, bits of sausage and pepperoni bites! Everything was delicious and not salty like you would imagine! The pasta dishes would have me coming back for more! I’m so glad they have BJ’s where I’m moving to or I would be even more devastated about moving! Good job BJ’s, solid food every time! ^___^

I’d rather not. Service was a miss here, no luck on getting refills or something additional I wanted to order. Food was brought out way after each other to the point that some were almost done eating and I was still eating. My salad was ok, not special, I nabbed some of the pizza(thin crust and it was lacking crunch and quality. Prices are high for the quality that you get, not worth returning.

It was as if this BJs had just opened today with how off the service was. Our waitress was great, but her visits were inconsistent and there were times where so many other people checking in at our table that we didn’t really know if we had a waitress anymore. For whatever reason, they only had one bartender working on a busy Sunday afternoon so drinks took a long time; one was completely forgotten. Then, shortly after appetizers were finished, my salmon quinoa dish came — along with another we definitely didn’t order. I sat and waited for the rest of the dishes to come… and waited, and waited… We’re thinking they gave me another tables order, because then the rest finally came out all together. And then another salmon quinoa dish was delivered to our table a few minutes later(that one was probably mine, even though it was much later than the others). The first salmon quinoa looked like it had been sitting out under the heating lamp for a bit and the chef skimped on the veggies, so the waitress just gave me the second one as compensation. Once we got our meals, the various wait staff stopped by frequently to check in. Unfortunately our dirty dishes didn’t get cleared until we asked. Sooo, I think it’s pretty clear that our experience was less than stellar. Like I said, everyone just seemed to be off. Food and drinks were mediocre, with exception to the new sriracha brussel sprouts. They were amazing!!!

BJ’s is one of my most favorite American restaurant compared to macaroni grill, CPK, TGIF’s, and etc. I love that they have a large selection of food choices and BEER selections. I often like to try a new beer that«sounds» good or «looks» good to expand my beer tasting desires. If your a first timer, I recommend: — BBQ chicken pizza — spinach artichoke dip — berry burst cider(alcohol) sweet, berry, cider –wyder cider– white grape, sweet, cider And end it with, a white chocolate macadamia pizzookie!!! Mini is a tease, regular is perfect :)

Pros: Large, good for big parties, good for kids, variety on the menu, and pizzas are placed on top of a scale!
Cons: Pizza isn’t that great. The thin crust(called«tavern cut») is too thin and the thick crust is too thick. Bring back the one in the middle! Service was a little slow –busy – but not too bad. We had to send back the brussel sprouts because they were too fried/burned. The server kindly brought us new brussel sprouts after we showed her.

Unilocal Challenge 201588⁄365. *update* Sing along time«holding out for a hero(footloose)* Where have all the good PIZZAS gone And where are all the pies? Where’s the Chicago deep dish To stuff the hungry ones? Isn’t there a meaty one on this menu? Late at night I stuff my face and I eat what I need [Chorus:] I need a PIZZA I’m holding out for a PIZZA ’til the end of the night its gotta have cheese And its gotta have meat And its gotta be fresh from the start I need a pizza I’m holding out for a pizza ’til the morning light Its gotta be big And it’s gotta be good And it has to be the best tonight Somewhere after eight In my hungar fantasy Somewhere just down Beach Blvd There’s pizza enticing me Baking all that cheese and rising crust with the heat It’s gonna take a Pizza to stuff me I need a PIZZA I’m holding out for a PIZZA ’til the end of the night its gotta have sauce And its gotta have meat And its gotta be deep dish tonight I need a pizza Pizza, that’s what BJ’s is all about. It may not be the best pizza, but If I am looking for a good inexpensive deep dish this end of the OC, I know BJ’s can always deliver. Pizza is something that the Beast and I always agree on, its got to have a lot of meat, lots of sauce and lots cheese on it. And Anchovies on the side. But lately, I have been more accommodating to his needs and allow half the pizza to have his silly little fishes. And you know what? There is zero fishjuice on my half. We have also learned to alter their standard pizzas and add extra sauce, extra cheese and order it well done, to ensure its cooked all the way through. Sometimes, with multiple toppings the crust does not always cook to our liking, so that extra few minutes in the oven really helps. A large satisfies us and we can usually finish the whole pie ourselves. If I we dont share the large pizza I order one of the chicken dishes, The Parmesan chicken and balsamic glazed chicken are amazing, and some of my favorite dishes ever. Washed down with the berry peach iced tea. To finish things off, we usually share the white chocolate macadamia nut Pizzookie with ice cream. Service here is never consistent. Which is why the 3 stars. It is like a roller coaster, up and down, up and down. It makes me dizzy. Tonight our service started out good. I was actually surprised how good it was. But then our waitress got a little busy, disappeared, missed us waving her down and forgot our drink refills after removing our cups from our table. Then they changed shifts. So we got a new waitress. Service was in slow motion, at the end of our meal as we waited for our to go box and check. Then the new server forgot our coupon. *sigh*. In the end everything was resolved and we left full and satisfied. What I noticed is, the other servers in the same sections do not have each other’s backs. They don’t seem aware of their fellow servers tables needs or tap off their drinks, remove plates, notify your server the customer needs them, ect. It took a few minutes to get our servers attention and the other servers were completely oblivious. The kitchen crew on the other hand, seem, to be in sync with everyone. Once they bring your order out, they are quick to bring you any condiments you might need. I also noticed the other patrons around us were pretty much all needing the same things. Checks, to go boxes, drinks, ect. We all must of sat down around the same time. That also makes it difficult to have excellent service. The tiny tables for 2 are not the greatest if your having pizza. There is not enough room for the pizza, the drinks, and a conversation. Its hard to see the person your talking to, if a pizza is in your face, or your worried the pizza is going to fall off the table. Opt for a bigger table for pizza. 4 star food…3 star service = 3 stars I am a fan of the food, but the service could be better.
