Rude Asian chef. Horrible experience, alright food tho. Better to go off campus than deal with rude customer service.

The breakfast here has really improved and is actually very good! It takes a little longer because the food is made to order, but it’s worth it! I love that I can pay with Apple Pay on my iPhone.

One thing that this place has going for it is variety — there’s several different stations you can visit and lots of different assorted drinks and snacks. Refrigerated Section: Offers sandwiches, wraps, fruit and yogurt parfaits as well as little desserts. I think its just personal preference, but I’m really a fan of the sandwiches in this section — mainly because I don’t like cold sandwiches. The bread seems harder than usual, the wraps are nice — portions are huge, they don’t skimp on the meat filling either. Have never tried their salads. Mexican/Asian Section: They offer fresh made mexican rice dishes — asian section has made-to-order rice bowls and on certain days, phở. I think its a great attempt at reaching out to the more diverse student groups that the college is home to. One area of improvement, they could definitely do with more lighting in this area. Would probably make their food presentation more appealing. Grill Section: This place offers breakfast sandwiches(HUGE value for the price) in the mornings and burgers/sandwiches in the afternoon. I ordered a Smokehouse Burger which comes with a ¼lb patty, cole slaw, smoked pulled pork and onion rings sandwiched between a «golden» brioche bun. Sounds tasty doesn’t it? Well, while I wasn’t expecting Slater’s 50⁄50 grade burgers — the patty was inedible. It was like those fake burger patties they have in dollhouses(I have sisters). It was plasticy and very pliable. I ate like a tiny piece of it before pushing it aside. The rest of the burger was okay — the bun was buttery and doughy, the onion rings were just right, the pulled pork was flavorless and the cole slaw was too mayonnaisey. The fries on other hand was perfect. With just the right bit of crunch and potato-filling — the fries were great! The burger doesn’t come with the fries(otherwise it’d really balance out the blandness of the burger) — but you can get the fries and a small drink for just $ 2 more. Overall, pricing is fair for what you are getting — the convenience of being able to eat on campus and not have to get in your car and drive somewhere, losing your parking spot. I would probably get things to go next time — instead of eating in the adjacent Student Center. Lots of weird denizens there.

This current Spring 2015 Semester is my first semester taking classes at GWC, and I heard that the café was remodeled so I cannot say how much it has improved, or what was there before. That being said, I enjoy this café! They offer a «Mexican Station» which is like a Chipotle type deal. They can make you a burrito, a plate(bowl), tacos, or a salad. Usual meats, white and brown rice(which tastes better than chipotle IMO) and toppings. I like their guacamole. Its chunkier. A more Mexican guac. I enjoy their burritos! Really good for the price, quality and quantity. They offer a «Off the Grill», which makes breakfast and lunch. Breakfast burritos, sandwiches, omelets, pancakes, the usual breakfast. I always get a breakfast burrito with ham, egg whites, hash browns, cheese, and salsa on the side. For lunch, they offer burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries.(Its a pretty big menu; they offer more than I can remember). Again, really good for the price, quantity and quality. They also have plenty of variety on drinks, cold sandwiches and salads from«Fresh Gourmet», snacks, chips. They even brew Starbucks coffee! I’ve never had it, but I did notice. that they offer the blonde/Veranda roast and a dark roast. I also see a rice bowl or phở station. I have never tried it, but I did watch them fix a bowl for someone. Rice, steamed veggies and chicken, and you can take as much teriyaki sauce as you want. I’ve never seen phở be served. I’ll try it out and review it when I can. The staff is very friendly and on Fridays, I always make sure to try and converse with them a little because it is slow(its a Friday and this school is pretty much dead). Café is clean and I hope that more people catch on to it because the food is actually pretty good. Try it out!

The café officially reopened this semester after their«remodeling». Not sure what they remodeled since it looks pretty much the same since the summer except for the addition of ipad cashiers and new food options!!! :) They have listened and there is a lot of VARIETY in our options now! There’s a hot off the grill section, asian section, and mexican section. I love getting the salad bowls from the mexican station because it is very similar to a chipotle burrito bowl but for a cheaper price! The burritos and quesadillas are also super generous sizes, so I’m obviously a fan of the mexican station. I also think it’s super cool that they even offer phở. That’s when you know your school’s near Westminster! I’m very happy with the improvements. You can get a good cheap meal during a break between classes. And if you don’t want to wait for someone to cook your food, you can grab one of their prepackaged sandwiches, wraps, or salads from Fresh Gourmet which are actually really good quality!

Yummy food, especially for a cafeteria. Phở on wednesdays tacos on tuesday. New specials all the time.

The café lacks a lot of variety food-wise. There’s not much to choose from their menus, regardless of the time of day. The taste of many of their items is mediocre at best. But if you’re a hungry student, the taste won’t really matter too much. But the study space for the café is brilliant! It’s not incredibly crowded, nor is it too loud. It’s more of a library environment, in which you can enjoy your food while you study for a class or two.

The tables here are always clean! Comfortable too! Perfect for eating/studying. They have a phở station, baguette station, and MORE! The lines go by fast. Make sure to check the daily specials they offer.

The food here sucks. It’s only somewhat better than high school lunch. The only things I actually enjoy eating are their burgers and cookies. The french fries taste like McDonald’s. The chili for the chili fries does not taste like chili. Pizzas have been sitting out for too long under the heating lamp, or at least I think there’s a heating lamp. The salad looks old & spoiled, the macaroni salad has too much mayonnaise, and I’ve had way better potato salad. The so-called tacos are over stuffed and doesn’t even taste good. The quesadilla is $ 4 and I can get better for so much cheaper. I’ll try their cheap pseudo-sushi rolls one of these days, but do not expect me to enjoy it. This place is bigger, more organized and brighter than the shitty cafeteria at Orange Coast College.
