Got food poisoning from here. Will never be going to this place again. Looks as if the cooks don’t even wear gloves when making your food. The meat tastes old and they don’t give you a lot of portion cups for the salaa

Definitely a fan of Las Barcas. Good Mexican food, good service, local and a great menu that offers everything you can ask for. Highly recommend trying the grilled mahi fish tacos, taco Tuesday special, carnitas, asada and chicken tacos are only $ 1.50. My favorite is the beer battered fish burrito. It’s big enough to feed two. They don’t skimp on the fish, which is a plus!

Pretty good! Las Barcas Tostada salad — great! Probably one of the better tasting taco salads I’ve had and i love taco salads! Beats el ranchito on Main Street! It just looks and tastes a lot cleaner. Healthy fitness burrito– I expected a lot more from This item. Very bland. And I didn’t like the tomato rice combo with the egg whites and chicken. Tasted like any other burrito. Nothing too special. They PACK it with chicken which is awesome! I just wished it had more flavor We ordered chips and salsa and luckily, 2 orders already came complimentary with our items. And the price is right! Not too expensive.

Outstanding! I was recommended to this place by a great friend. It’s a surf side take on traditional Mexican food. Cool thing is, it’s family owned for 30+ years. I had the mahi mahi tacos. 2 was a lot… I didn’t expect them to be that big. More like a mini burrito than a taco; but definitely in a good ways. They didn’t last long enough for a picture. Sorry. :-) Do expect a little bit of wait. It was fresh and good. Definitely coming back!

OMG!!! This is hands down some of the best Mexican food I’ve had since I moved to California a year ago. My friends have been here multiple times and kept talking about how amazing they are. After running a grueling 9-miles I decided the best way to refuel was with some top notch Mexican food so we came here. I ordered two things: flautas and las barcas deluxe burrito with asada. They were BOTH amazing. The flautas were fascinating because they were fried in an unique way. Not really sure what the technique is, but they were fried on the outside and soft inside. Really good. I highly recommend you get those. The burrito was great too. Very big and full of everything. Flavors were there and everything tasted fresh and felt like it was just made seconds ago. I regret not putting hot sauce in it but that was myself. Clearly I loved my experience here and I cannot wait to comeback!

Super great food. If you’re native Californian, this is the real-deal Mexican food. Staff at counter are friendly, helpful & muy gaupo. If not native Californian, come in for some Mexican food that will not enable you to eat at Del Taco or Taco Bell ever again. My Carnitas burrito was«wet», meaning covered with cheese & actual salsa. There’s no packet hot-sauce here!

This place does exist but might be kind of hard to find in the strip mall location that it is in. Within a matter of seconds after walking through the front door, all I could smell was goodness. I ordered the taquitos and the carne asada platter for dinner. Very happy with their friendly service and tasty bites. I would go back. Las Barcas was busy but I was able to find a seat with my friend. Because you order and pick up your food at the counter, even if there is initially no place to sit, a table will open up soon since it is not a traditional sit-down restaurant.

It’s always seemed to me that that a place which puts a descriptor into its moniker is a place that’s begging someone to say otherwise, so I will: Las Barcas, just what is «gourmet» about your Mexican Food? For starters, I’d like to think that any«gourmet» place would regularly clean up the salsa bar, wipe down said bar, and bus and wipe down the dining tables. On a recent Monday evening the place wasn’t a pig sty but it gave the impression that these tasks were being done less frequently than they should be. Cleanliness goes a long way and this seems easy enough to remedy. Get someone out there on the regular to make sure your look says«gourmet». And the food? Well, I could find nothing gourmet or even interesting about the Fajita Taco Salad(about $ 10). I probably should’ve read the description more carefully but when I saw the word«fajita» I falsely assumed it would include grilled onions and bell peppers. You know what they say about assuming. What this salad included was: * Steak(choice of chicken or steak) which lacked flavor * Guacamole which lacked flavor * Sour cream * Pico de gallo * Shredded carrots * Iceberg Lettuce * Fried Flour Tortilla shell I drenched the thing in decent tasting salsas and jalapenos from the messy salsa bar while visions of grilled vegetables danced in my head. They would’ve added so much. Las Barcas could be doing things far better than they are.

For high quality Mexican food at a fair price, this is the spot. A true HB mainstay. Service is great, and you always seem to see someone there you know.

Excellent Mexican food! This is the best in town. I love their carnitas burritos. They are huge, and not too spicy for me. Even though we usually get the food to go, I like that they include chips with everyone’s order. It’s getting harder and harder for me to get around, so I’m happy that I can get great authentic Mexican food without having to go to a sit down restaurant. The prices are also fairly reasonable, not cheap but not overly priced either. My only complaint is that they charge $ 2 extra to make your burrito«wet» with cheese on top. I think $ 1 extra would be more reasonable. The food is great though, so I still give them 5 stars!

Authentic, fresh, carnitas! fresh salsa bar. we have been going to this cleaned up dive for at least 20 years. never disappointing! Walmart moved in. so all of the store fronts were modernized. friendly staff. sometimes a long wait. but worth it! call the order in before you go to save some time

I’ll keep this review short sweet and yo the point. This place is outstanding and it’s no surprise why they have been in business for so long. Every order is made fresh from fresh ingredients and it creates a meal worth waiting for. This was the first place I ate after driving out to California when I moved here 5 years ago(I’ll be honest I had tried it on a visit before) and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’m a fairly simple person so I tend to eat the same thing but I’ve brought friends, family, and coworkers here and I’ve never seen anyone not blown away by the food. So the foods great. But beyond that the people are awesome always in a good mood ready to ensure your meal is perfect. I am sad I’ll be moving to San Diego soon but I know when I visit OC I’ll be coming here to eat! Thanks for giving me 5+ years of quality food a stones throw from my apartment!

I grew up just down the street from this place. They have 2 things on the menu that deserve 6 stars: The Chimichangas, and the fish tacos. Everything else is plain. Not bad, but not great either.

The prices are fair, and the food is decent… but it’s not incredible… and be prepared to wait a bit. I tried a fish plate and an additional enchilada. The fish plate consisted of big, meaty pieces of fish with rice and beans and tortillas. The fish was fine… but nothing really had any zip or flavor to it. The enchilada was much better… I used the sauce to spice up my fish plate. All in all, fair prices, and fresh cooked average food.
