Super Mex

This place has terrible food. The chips were cold and they are a whole tortilla, not cut into triangles. the Chicken Caesar salad had no dressing and the chicken was dry. I had two carnitas tacos, that were ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. The ice tea was not brewed, but came out of a soda machine. it is very over priced and the service was slow. There are a lot better Mexican restaurants out there, avoid this one.

Super super Max as one of my all-​time favorites and a great deal but the best chicken tacos you’ll see in this area beats the heck out of everything and of great Family Recipes. it’s a great place to go after the beach or mid day. I highly recommend it

I have been going to Super Mex for well over 25 years. The success of any restaurant… Return customers. It’s very simple… the food is good, inexpensive, the service is quick, and they really DO have the best salsa north of the border. Another thing worth noting, the waiters and waitresses don’t ignore you simply because you’re not at their station… If you need a soda refill, somebody grabs it and fills it up. You need more chips and salsa, it’s there in a flash. I’m looking forward to seeing the newly remolded expansion when it is complete, and I know I’ll continue to eat there for well over 25 years more.

Consistency is one sign of a top quality restaurant and consistency is Supermex’s middle name. There shredded beef tacos are fried with the meat inside and the salsa is fresh and has just the right amount of spice. I have yet to be disappointed. You can’t go wrong with the combo 29 or 30.

This unassuming place is tucked away in a strip mall which is undergoing construction. We decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised. The chips aren’t the typical but really deep fried tortillas served whole. The salsa is very good and fresh. Love their tacos and the spouse loves the carnitas. Reasonable prices and good service with good food. Winner!

You can’t judge a book by its cover. I honestly wasn’t expecting much when we went for dinner but was pleasantly surprised with how great the service and food was. I got the #15 with a cheese and 2 chicken enchiladas and rice and beans and they were fantastic !! Especially loved the cheese one it was a great price also and comes with unlimited chips and salsa (which is quite tasty) I will definitely be coming back for some more ! Overall a very nice experience !

Was craving some good Mexican food while at the beach… Thank you Unilocal for directing me to this gem! Delicious! Great service! Will be our new spot when we hit the beach. :)

Looks like this place is under renovation but I just tried it for the first time yesterday for a lateish lunch.
My dude ordered carne asada plate and I ordered a carne asada taco along with steak flautas… everything was cooked nicely and even though it was busy the service was attentive.
I will go back here because the food was really good, I guess it could be a local fav, not sure… I’m new to the area. but def going back… yummy

Great food all the way around. I really appreciate ordering chicken from a restaurant that gets it when it comes to servicing consistent clean but flavorful meat with no gristle, bones or skin.

This place is my favorite Mexican food in HB. I grew up coming here and I feel like we will forever be customers. Mexican is my go to but no place really compares. Super mex is the homie Mexican food place that every Californian has or wants. I always keep it lighter and stick with the fajita bowl with green rice and whole beans. The veggies are super flavorful and you’ll always have enough for lunch the next day if you want it.

Food and service are good and portions are large. Visit at off hours to avoid the crowds at peak meal times.

This is the best mexican food ever!!! Love the Junior Mex Chicken or Carnitas Burritos. The portions are very generous. Great chips and salsa. Sometime the salsa is a little hot for my taste — it would be nice if they had a mild chunky salsa. The guys working there are great too.

This super mex is the worst. I order from there because they are close to home, but they never get my order right, then when you call to say hey you forgot to give me my taco and didn’t give me green rice they never pick up there phone! The guys are always rude as if you ate the taco that your missing. And I got the eye roll when I went In. Check your food no matter how busy the counter is…

Love it here. We order out every Friday night and it’s my favorite! My order is always right. We have been going here for as long as I can remember their salsa is my favorite. I have been getting the mini chimichangas recently and they are bomb!

The service is good on the whole and the staff are helpful. The wet burritos are just amazing. As an appetizer, is just tortilla chips with a mild sauce is not bad buy would prefer a hotter one.

The thing about this place is the food is generally bland and you never quite get the taste that you want. Other than that the prices are reasonable, the salsa is decent and it has the other things you look for in a run-​of-​the-​mill Mexican restaurant.

You can judge a Mexican restaurant by how good their complementary salsa tastes, and this place has got their recipe down! Service was fast and friendly, and the food was great. It was nice to see that the owner was there and was checking up on tables himself. If you’re a local, you’ll appreciate the mural!

This restaurant has been here 4ever. So– you know they’re doing it right. The shredded beef taco is still flavorful, crunchy & delish. Both the cheese enchilada & chile relleno were tasty 2. Good food & reasonable prices.

So I have been coming to this place for years now! They have really good Mexican food and a great atmosphere. Their beef tacos are totally amazeballs!!! You can get them in the #7 (2 tacos) or #30 (3 tacos) combo plates with rice and beans. So these are no ordinary little tacos. They fill you up just like you were a red solo cup :-D So only get 3 if you’re hungry.
This place also has some MONSTER burritos! They are simply called the «Super Mex Burritos» and come in all the standard meat choices. They are delicious, but will leave you in a fully satisfied food coma… Yummy-​Sleepy!!!
Other great things to get is a A, B, or C lunch special. They are not on the menu, but on the sign next to the front door. It’s one of 3 different types of tacos, salad, green rice, AND a drink for 7 bucks!
Bottom line: This place has great food with a lot of option, and good happy hour. You gotta try it.

I love Super Mex and always have. They have a few locations in the HB area. The service is always great even though they are super busy. Food wise, I almost always take it to go.
THis location is not big. Chips and salsa come with every meal and they give you way too much when you get it to go. I love the appetizer sampler. The wings are good. I love the burritos and tacos. I just love cheesy beany food. If you are looking for something to feel home made (not taco bell) then stop by Super Mex.
