I had my tonsils removed when I had my mother call and ask how much a haircut would be (I obviously couldn’t talk). When she was asked how old is your daughter she said 22. With that the receptionist said «hold on… and started laughing and saying aww her mommy is calling to find out how much a haircut is and she’s 22years old». I’m sorry but that’s just so unprofessional and you lost a potential client!!! Terrible business!

I was brought here by a friend and loved it!
I knew I needed a change and the consultation was very useful!
Have gotten both magnificent highlights as well as gotten my hair dyed a cool black.
I don’t trust everyone with my hair but they are my go to for color!

i’ve been going to DeFrancos salon and spa for almost 2 years and I have never had a bad experience with any of the services I’ve received. Fun atmosphere, great service and attentive staff. If your looking for a great salon, this is definitely one of the best on Long Island! I usually see sylvia for haircuts, lauren for color, rosa for nails and dee for massages/​facials. All great people who are great at what they do!

I also agree with Robin N.‘s review that Shannon is awful. She needs much re-​education. She must re-​learn technique for assorted hair types. Her own professional appearance, conduct, and own hair style should reflect her skill. Much improvement needed. I too agree with D.M. review of Melissa. She truly is top notch colorist. This salon is always packed and often reception seems to overbook. But many salons on LI & city have this issue. After 20 years of being salonn client you have to keep options open with several places to get what you want. That’s reality.

Charles the colorist is A1. The best anywhere but not 1 out of 30 stylists can blow dry hair.
Shannon is the worst. She ***fried*** my hair and I had to wash it and blow it myself when i got home.
Unless you just need color go somewhere else.

Never have I had such and expierience as my last and final visit at Anthony Defranco’s. I have been going there for 8 years and have been happy. On my last visit my regular stylist was not available, so they made me an appointment with another girl. I arrived on time and 45 minutes later still sitting in reception. I asked when I would be up. Was told 30 mintues more, so they offered me a free cut with someone else. The person they pawned me off on could hardly hold a pair of sissors, much less cut hair. I stopped her after she started snipping and asked «what are you doing? You have not even asked me what I want much less looked at my hair. Are’nt you going to even give me a consultation. You’ve never even met me or touched my hair before». Any how, she gave me some half a**ed consultation and proceeded to snip off about ¼″ of my hair in a straight line. I stopped her again and said «I am very uncomforable» and she said «don’t worry I know what I’m doing». SHE DID NOT… I now have 24″ hair, with a straight line cut across at about 16″ and then another line for my bangs… I am mortified by this abismal cut. I called twice over the next few days and asked Anthony to call me. He never bothered calling me back. I remember years ago when Anthony told me as a young chap how tenatious he was trying to get into the Vidal Sassoon Hair School, the young Anthony would never have let this happen, nor ignored a distraught customer, especially one who’d been coming for so many years.

I will NEVER recommend this salon to anyone looking for a haircut. They obviously don’t want the money or the business. I made an appt. (first time customer) with Nicole for 6:00. I showed up, the place was busy but they were expecting me and told me that Nicole knew I was there and she would be with me momentarily. 40 minutes later… No one approached me, and I started to wonder why I had to make an appt. if my hairdresser wouldn’t keep it? I finally left. No one called me to follow up or find out where I went. I even emailed them to complain about this awful service (2 TIMES!!!) and they never responded. It’s a harsh reality to know that a Long Island Salon located in the heart of Huntington Station thinks that they are above quality customer service, respect and courtesy. Oh well.

I had the good fortune of being styled at this salon for a runway show. Magically, the staff was able to complete a dozen girls’ hair and make-​up creatively and beautifully in about two hours time (this shows talent, drive & efficiency!). I had Alicia style my hair in a complicated, braid-​based up-​do and Danielle do my make-​up — I cannot rave enough about how good she made me (and all the girls) look. The salon is clean, spacious, modern & updated; the owner is super friendly and nice; and the salon hosts a Sunday brunch/​salon day (champagne & a blow out! incredible!) which I cannot wait to go back for.

Way too pricy! I almost had a heart attack when I went to pay.
70.00 for a haircut is really over priced. My hair is above the shoulder and fine, nothing difficult. I wont be going back.
