Good food, friendly staff. I will recommend this place. We ordered bunch of appetizers and they were good.

This is now my new fav restaurant in the Huntington area. Food was delicious and the service was great. Even something as simple as grilled chicken was out of this world! We had rope vieja and garlic chicken with fried yucca, plantains, and rice and beans. Good place for families too, we were there with our little one and other kids were there too. Can’t wait to come back, and stay for dessert next time.

Discovered this neighborhood gem by chance. Went to lunch with my girl friend to celebrate my BD… Food was so tasty and perfect portions! The tres leche cake was to die for! A must to try! So different from all other restaurants around town.

We had various authentic dishes here and they were all excellent. The ham and cheese croquettes are a must have. Im ordering 5 orders next time because they do come two smll ones to an order. Out of this world. The pulled pork or braised pork in light broth is a great traditional dish that had the perfect texture. Of course the flattened fried steak is the goto entrée for me here. Breading was nice and intact and a nice juicy thin steak underneath. Whatever we were ordering came with am ass amount of sides and the yuca fries were a first have for me and just bonkers good. Im going to start getting more takeout from here…

Can not rave enough about this place! Absolutely in love with the white rice and beans and that’s just a side to whatever it is your decide to order. Portions are huge so don’t over eat before you come. Our usual server is great, amazing personality and very animated! The drinks are always on point, highly recommend the mojito! On Mondays they have Industry Night and show movies outside and have drink specials. They stay open later for people like us who work at restaurant and get out later! Can’t wait to go back!

Order the arroz con pollo(rice and chicken). It’s delicious! It takes an hour to prepare and cook before coming out to the table so plan accordingly by calling ahead – it’s worth it. The pork with onions is tender and flavorful as well. We also had tostones/patacones(fried green plantains) with fresh garlic sauce. They weren’t double fried, so we found them a bit tougher than we’re used to, but the garlic dip helped. We even threw it in with the rice and chicken. This was our first visit and we definitely plan on going back to try other menu items. The wait staff were especially attentive, accommodating and especially sweet and funny. The only thing is that you need earplugs given the screaming loud song blasted through the speakers when someone celebrates a birthday! All in all a cozy, festive environment with live acoustic guitar music playing great Mambo Kings style music in the bar area.

Mojito Happy hours… That’s my jam. I’ve been here a handful of times and always enjoyed myself. There’s sometimes live music by the bar and a decent sized dining room. The food is family style and comes with two sides. We always get two beans and rice and two sweet plantains. We’ve run through a good amount of the menu. It’s all solid. The service is mostly great, but it can get busy and very tight at times. Careful of the driveway in off of East Jericho, it’s small and you can pass it easily, but they put a sign out there so keep your eyes peeled. It’s solid Cuban food. Check it out, start with a mojito!

We were in the Huntington area and I had heard about this restaurant Of course after a pit stop to the Forest Pork Store Love that place The waiter came over right away and suggested their Sangria. We got red. It was a little to winery and not fruity enough for me But everyone is different I had the black bean soup which was on point Then I ordered the fish in green sauce It was outrageously good My husband had the Ropa Vieja shredded beef stew which he enjoyed very much The portions are a good size I would recommend

We had heard of the one in queens when we saw them on diners drive in and dives so we decided to give it a shot. We are so glad we did because it became our top 5 favorite restaurant! We have been many times! You must try the arroz con pollo or the paella(if you like seafood). They advised us to call ahead and have them start cooking it before you get there because they cook it to order and it takes about an hour. Our other favorite dish is the ropa vieja(shredded beef in a tomato type sauce) it’s a must have. Drinks are good too — they have this fruit blended drink(non alcoholic) with water or milk — I prefer water it’s a nice treat. The sangria is really great too. Great tres de leches and flan as well! Great authentic spot and it’s a nice change up when your looking for something outside your usual meals. Try it and you will be a return customer, I assure you!

Rincon Criollo has been one of my favorite CUBAN restaurants in New York! They open another one in Long Island. More space. Super friendly Staff, and food is the same as the one by JUNCTION.(free parking behind restaurant) I always come and get my Café Con Leche. everything in the menu is delicious! Depending what are you in the mood for(grilled, fried, stew)(Chicken, Seafood, Pork, Beef) Appetizer i always get Frituras Bacalao(Cod Fritters), everything else is ok but for some reason i always feel like I am in Cuba when I eat this. My top choices are Ropa Vieja Bistec encebollado(Grilled steak with Sauteed Onions) Fried Grouper Fried chicken(chunks or breaded chicken breast) (all this comes with 2 side dishes) my top sides: Yuca Maduros Moro(Rice and beans) Dessert always comes with a Flan de leche or tres leches cake. *** they always hand me a shot or drink with a cherry on top(courtesy of the restaurant) THISPLACEWILLNEVERDISSAPOINTSYOUWITHCUBANFOOD. Tasty cuban! Had a late weeknight dinner here and wasnt disappointed. Good portion size and everything was tasty plus prices are good. *Breaded pork steak $ 13.95: giant piece of meat… Almost didnt fit the plate. Lightly battered and fried, this was juicy and tasty and just really filling. Hubby LOVED it. *Beef steak Rincon Criollo $ 13.95: This was super thin, grilled with lots of flavor and comes out well done since its so thin but meat was still juicy. This was a tasty steak. Both came with two sides and we picked: *Maduros(fried sweet plantains): delicious, just the right caramelization and right sweetness. *Yuca con mojo(cassava w/garlic sauce): these werent fried and were more steamed or boiled looking with tons of garlic. Hubs loved it. I love yuca but i like them fried :) *Fries: normal fries but these had a really nice crunch. I enjoyed these tasty fries! Friendly service, family atmostphere, we’ll be back!

I definitely enjoyed the food here, but I was by no means enthralled. Still, I’ll probably return because good Cuban food is hard to come around here. Started with the Rincon sampler, which comes with pork, chorizo, olives, ham and swiss. The chorizo was good and based on pictures, I couldn’t blame anyone for getting the chorizo appetizer as a main course. The pork was AMAZING. Very flavorful and juicy. Definitely the best part of the entire meal in my opinion. By contrast, the ham & cheese were the most disappointing. Kinda what you expect from a stale lunchables package. Inevitably, I wasn’t stoked that the bistec enrollado was filled with the exact same ham & cheese, which didn’t even melt. The beef itself was rich with garlic flavor, but a little dry for my preference. The ropa vieja was good, but I wasn’t blown away. To be fair, I don’t really have a standard to judge a good ropa vieja against. As for sides, the maduros were good. The special white bean side dish was interesting. The white rice was fluffy. The yuca with garlic was very disappointing and bland. It was hard to judge the ambiance. We were seated right beneath the speakers, through which latin music was being played. But then the overhead music cut off as a live musician began to strum his guitar in the other room… playing classic american folk-rock songs from the ‘60s. On the one hand, preferable over speakers over my head, but it detracted from the feel. One final note, it was *maybe* half full upon arrival on a Tuesday at 7pm, but it was nearly full by 7:30. Good enough to try again, but I’ll almost certainly be sticking to pork dishes rather than beef, and staying away from the ham/cheese and yuca.

Been going to the Jackson Heights location since I was 16 yrs. old. I’m now past 30 ;) Now that I moved to Long Island, I go to the Huntington location and bring the family. The food and service is consistent with the Jackson Heights location. I posted a lengthy review for the Jackson Heights location so check that out(there are repeats of that here). Service is suuuper friendly(sometimes they treat you like family), and flavor all keep me a loyal customer. I usually don’t go when it is crowded so I cannot comment about the wait during a rush. The main dish I keep ordering and NEED to pry myself away from so that I can try different things: Rincon Criollo Pescado — their signature fish = It’s a white flounder broiled in garlic sauce. Must try! My favorite side dishes(two come with one entrée order): Tostones = perfect thinness, which give the perfect crunch/chew texture when you bite into them. Sprinkle a little salt on top and you won’t want to share. Moros y cristiano = basically white rice mixed with black beans, spices, and a few surprising chunks of rendered pork belly(for added flavor). I like that the texture is not too wet or too dry. Maduros = because who doesn’t love moist and sweet plantains with slightly and perfectly burned/crunchy edges from that sugar. Other things I encourage you to try: — Plantain chips(forgot the actual name on the menu) = homemade plantain chips. Crunchy, salty, and addicting while you wait for your order! — Avocado = yep, that’s it. Just slices of ripe and buttery avocado. Order it, salt it, and have it with your meal. You’re welcome. — White rice. — Black beans = mix this with an order of white rice or have it by itself — either way, they make it well! — Rincon Criollo steak(with onions on top) = tender and well-marinated. Huge portion, but my teenage step kids have no problem polishing off something that good. — Ropa Vieja = although I don’t order it often, I like to order it for first-timers in the restaurant. It’s delicious, tender, and a classic done well. — Grilled chicken = Plain in name, but not in flavor. Moist, flavorful, and big portions of flattened chicken breast. Heard the roast pork is good, so I might try that next. Each table is served flattened and slight toasted sliced italian bread. Perfect with butter. I haven’t had the urge to order desserts because I’m just too full after.

Yesss the legend of this Corona, Queens joint has spread eastward. Even better, it’s my hometown(South) Huntington! For everyone who has been to the Queens location, everything here is an exact replica with the same menu and offerings. For the newbies who have never been, I highly suggest coming here since this is probably the greatest addition to the neighborhood. Pretty sure this area could use more(Cuban) culture; basically the Applebee’s, Friday’s, Panora, Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, and other suburbia-type food places gets pretty boring. –Rolled Steak — Think of chicken cordon bleu, but with steak rolled up and deep fried on the outside. Get it. –Seafood Paella — Like the Corona location, giant vats of seafood rice! Menu says it feeds 2, probably feeds more like 3 – 4 or 5 – 6 tiny people. Another must have as this place will set your new standard for paella. –Side note this place is also known for their Vaca Frita and Ropa Vieja –Tres Leches — How can you pass on this? I’ve had the coconut flan here before too which is good, but tres leeches is the star dessert. Another thing that sets this place apart is the attentive service. Everyone is super friendly and the owner/manager who moved from the Queens location to here is an awesome guy. The birthday celebrations he does are hilarious though. I love the Queens location, but now I’m glad this second spot opened up here too.

I wish I could be more positive about Rincon Criollo but we had issues. The people(management and servers) were wonderful — the room very nice… Our problem was that the menu is extremely limited. No salads, no green vegetables. The prices are moderate but the portions are tiny — so I don’t think there is any real value. Our entrees were only fair. We sampled chicken, shrimp, and beef. All were too highly seasoned or overly salted. The sides were better, but the choices were also limited. This is a new restaurant and I see much potential — with some fine tuning it could easily rise to 4 stars.

Visited Rincon Criollo in Huntington Station to experience their Soft Opening to get an idea how this place shapes up. It replaces an old Italian Restaurant next to the Ski chalet just East of 110. Parking is in rear and gives easy access. For a Thursday night at 8pm the place was full. With their formal opening the place will be hard to get into as there are no rezzys and only about 10 tables. The staff was very accommodating and the décor was welcoming. They were using a «soft opening» menu which was much smaller than their regular menu. For Appy we had Chorizos, a hefty portion which needed a dipping sauce or mustard to get that much sausage down the olé gullet. For mains we ordered 3 dishes; Filete de Pescado in garlic sauce, Ropa Vieja in a sparky tomato sauce, and a steak with onions dish. You get two sides with each dish so we packed up half to go. We did try the Rice and Beans with Bacon which was delish as well as the dynamite Yuca in Garlic Sauce. The sweet plaintains were ok but only a few and not outstanding. Again, the staff was wonderful and watched over our every need all thru the meal. We took home the full menu to peruse before returning for their Hard Opening. But, its gonna be a chore to get in with the ensuing crowds that will be attacted to this new addition to the area! Reserving the 5th star for our return visit after the Hard Opening…
