out on a rare date with my wife and windowed shopped menus until settling on Cassis. Had driven past a few times and was curious to try. As we had heard that it could be quite loud inside, we chose a table for two on the sidewalk. The service was very attentive personable, and timely. Not being too hungry we shared a few dishes. The onion soup was a solid 4, with rich gruyère draped ove rthe croque mouth, and the broth not too salty. Not quite Paris, but ht the spot. We had one Cassis and one Caesar salad. The Caesar was chopped a bit fine and missed the anchovies, but was enjoyable. The escargot were yummy and the sauce good enough to soak up with bread. The Cassi salad needed a bit more vinaigrette dressing which was readily provided. The cappucinos were excellent, and though we passed, the desert menu looked awesome. Will be back, probably for Canard de l’orange night on Tuesday, or Boulaibaisse on Friday, or…

My favorite restaurant. You can’t go wrong with anything you order here. The escargot, the cheese, the fresh made ravioli, the lamb, the steak, the drinks and desserts. You cannot go wrong with anything and they give you fresh baguette with pâté to boot!

This is a decadent little french bistro with AMAZEBALLS crème brûlée. Actually, I reall want to give this place a 4.5 stars because the HOT and CRUNCHY bread with cold butter was pretty incredible. However, I had the steak salad, which was good, but it’s just way too small for the price. It’s really the price of things that’s the downfall… but that could be my own bias. Try their Sazerac — it’ll kick ya in the pants, but it’s perfect. You come here when you want to relax and treat yourself to some good French cuisine… not if you want a burger; there are plenty of those at pubs in Huntington.

The standard bearer of consistently great dining in downtown Huntington. This is our go to place, the mussels provencale is insane and the juices in the pan could be taken home as a soup, it’s that good. My go to meal is the duck, but the steaks are cooked perfectly as well. The Steak tartar is probably the best I’ve had in the States. Great beer and wine selection as well. It’s noisy, crowded, and they don’t take reservations, but it’s worth the wait and I have yet to be disappointed.

My boyfriend took me here for a belated Valentine’s date. It lived up to the hype! Drinks: Malbec special. His: The Duck 5⁄5 stars. He got it medium rare. The portion was a decent size. And very yummy Mine: The lamb shank with mushroom risotto. 5⁄5 stars. The meat fell off the bone it was so tender. The knife it came with was pointless, it was that easy. Dessert: The coffee and cappuccino we ordered to our surprise was complimentary. A sweet gesture. We had the chocolate mousse as a second choice because the chocolate cake was sold out. It didn’t disappoint. This has definitely become one of my favorite restaurants. Period. I’ll definitely be back.

We enjoyed excellent fresh bread before appetizers. The butter and pâté were very good as well. We had mussels in cream sauce that was out of this world. Chunks of ham/bacon in the sauce made it over the top. I had the red snapper special which came with roasted potatoes, Brussel sprouts and finely sliced leeks was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. Even though the restaurant was full the noise level was bearable. The service was excellent and I can’t wait to return.

I have been here a few times and each time they deliver great food. Classic French food which surprisingly tastes very authentic. The restaurant itself is quaint and inviting. I also must add that we had an AMAZING waiter, I can’t remember what his name was but he was absolutely fabulous. I had to try the French onion soup as its one of my favorites and it was perfect! It was definitely heavy but usually French onion soup is. I also had a salad de cassis which was quite large but was also good. The fruit Bellini was delicious and had lots of fresh fruit in it.

I’m giving this 5 stars due to the good food and AWESOME waiter. I had French onion soup which was good and the ham and cheese crêpe which was fabulous! The water intuitively knew that we were having a special occasion and we told him that it was my mothers birthday(she is 72). He really did go above and beyond and treated her like a queen! I will definitely go back.

This is one of our favorite spots on Long Island, we have been regulars since they opened. Always excellent food and atmosphere. They have recently remodeled and did a good job but the lighting is off. Needs to be dimmer and warmer. Please fix. Love this spot.

Is the owner aware that staff refuses to serve at 9:10 pm on a Tuesday? Hmmmm… Restaurant is advertised to be open till 10 pm and located next to a movie theater. I also find it quite rude to refuse a guests who politely asked to be served just a glass of wine, when both bartender and manager have a full plate of food in front of them at the bar. I have owned and run numerous restaurants in my career… Definitely a big«faux pas» on their behalf. No wonder why their reputation in town is so bad.

Nice little place to dine at in Huntington Village. It was especially nice dining outdoors. The complimentary pâté and butter to go with the baguette was very good. Ordered the codfish with cockles. The lardons were quite tasty in it. The charred top of the codfish wasn’t my favorite, but certainly edible. The sauce was quite tasty. Had the crepes Suzette for dessert, which was good. Would go back to possibly try the steak.

Went there with family by a recommendation of a friend. The food is alright, nothing special. Even though it’s a French restaurant, I’m not into French food so I ordered New York strip which came with French fries and ketchup on the side. Quite disappointing! Even in lower price restaurants they usually serve stake with baked potato or something. The stake itself was $ 35 and was not that great either. My family ordered mussels that came in a huge bawl and the amount of mussels in it was ridiculous. The barely finished it and loved it. So I guess when go there just stick to French food. The server pretended to be nice but you could feel the bad vibes from the guy.

Cassis was kind enough to accommodate our party of 8 one night before and for Saturday night, none-the-less. Impressive! The inside of Cassis was just as expected, quaint, like many of the Parisian bistros I frequented just months before. Some of us promptly arrived for our 5:30 reservations, others did not. They still seated us. Seating was cramped but that was to be expected. We were served warm baguettes, butter, and a liver tapenade of sorts. I ordered from the Huntington Restaurant Week menu: Escargot in garlic herb butter-I was desperately hoping the soup du jour was French onion soup but alas, it was not. The garlic herb butter that the escargot swam in was delicious, but the escargot itself was lacking meatiness. Chicken Alsacienne(Pan roasted chicken, homemade spaetzle, wilted spinach, bacon cream sauce)-I’m not a big chicken fan but this one was very tender and the cream sauce was delectable. Crème Brulee-enough said. Overall a good meal but felt it would have been better if we came on a weeknight and with less people. I would absolutely give them another try.

What a great evening we had here! Although getting around Huntington and finding parking on a Friday night is a huge pain, when we stepped in to the place all of that melted away. Yes, it is quite loud in here so not the best choice for quiet conversation, but still it feels quite romantic — just casually so. The tables are all pretty much right on top of each other but we were lucky to snag an end. We started off with a couple glasses of wine(which were good selections) and a crab cake. It was quite crabby(as opposed to bready) and served with a slaw that my date loved. For our meals, he got the braised lamb shank(almost exclusively for the wild mushroom risotto) and I got the duck a l’orange. The duck was nice and crispy, and although some of it was a bit dry, the sauce helped it out and overall it was quite good. Sides on mine were wild rice and Brussels sprouts. Shockingly enough, I wanted a whole bowl of the sprouts. They were phenomenal. Of course we couldn’t have a meal at a French restaurant without hitting all three courses, so we went for dessert as well. Since we couldn’t decide, we got both the warm chocolate cake and the poached pear. Both came with a vanilla gelato, and both were the perfect way to end the meal. Although it was busy, I didn’t feel we were being rushed out and overall the service was great! There was one person who was a little grouchy but everyone else made up for it. We will absolutely return!

Loved it! This place is awesome. From food, to service, to wine, to sweet treat– this little treasure gets a super A plus. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. I started with escargot for an appetizer. It was soooo good. My boyfriend had the chicken for an entrée and I had the salmon both were amazing! Lastly, I had the apple tart for my sweet treat and it was everything I imagined and more.

This place has that French feel to it especially if you eat outside… Having gone to Paris 4 times I would say take my word for it. Brunch is $ 20 and each meal comes with a generous portion of bacon, a sausage, potato hash type thing, choice of(mimosa, Bloody Mary or orange juice) and coffee or tea. I ordered the mushroom and spinach omelette and my brunch companions had the chicken and spinach crêpe and salmon and cream cheese omelet. All in all we were all satisfied and quite full… However there’s always room for dessert! Please do yourself a favor and get the pecan and walnut tart with gelato. Just do it! Décor: cute French indeed Food:(brunch) tasty and portions are filling Service: now here is why I put 4 stars. The service was off in my opinion, there were periods when we couldn’t find our server and when we did, we literally had to wave intensely to get their attention.

Restaurant is small but bustling. The restaurant became increasingly loud as dinner progressed. Service was better than average. Our meal began with butter and pâté served with complimentary bread. The bread was a little rough. I thoroughly enjoyed an appetizer of flatbread with bacon, perfect size for 2 although it would have been sufficient for 4. My entrée was the duck with grand mariner sauce, which also came with rice and vegetables. Duck was just spectacular. The skin was crunchy to perfection, meat tender. Sauce paired perfectly to the duck and was simply delicious. Whole plate was really wonderful and well worth the price tag. My friend had the bass which he said was very fresh. Wonderful experience with the food at Cassis.
