Ever have one of those nights where you decide to try a new place on a whim and it completely hits the spot? That was our experience at Café Medi. We were in the mood for something light(read: not covered in cheese and sauce) but still flavorful, so Greek came to mind. We started with the meza plate which is a trio of their most popular dips(hummus, tzatziki, and babaghanoosh). It was garnished with a few olives, beets, and a pickle slice. We had never had babaghanoosh before and instantly dubbed it the best on the plate. It’s made with roasted eggplants and pairs perfectly with the complimentary warm pita each table is given. They treat pita bread like chips here and simply bring you more if you finish the first basket. I’ve never seen a Greek restaurant do this; it’s always an added charge so that’s pretty cool. For dinner I ordered the souvlaki chicken and it came with either a soup or house salad, rice, and vegetables. The vegetable that day was green beans which I don’t care for, but they kindly let me sub them out for potatoes free of charge. I’m glad I did because their potatoes are unreal! Charred just enough to have a crust while still being soft in the middle. The chicken was tender too, and even my rice was perfectly seasoned. My husband got the shawerma combo with beef and chicken. He also swapped the green beans for potatoes and raved about how good they were. If the portions weren’t so gigantic, we both would have licked our plates clean. My only regret was that I didn’t save room for dessert. 3 in particular were calling my name from the menu(the tiramisu, bananas foster ice cream cake, and the limoncello mascarpone mousse cake). If they would do a meza dessert plate so I could sample all of the above that would be tremendous. Guess we just have to keep coming back until then, what a pity. I’m looking forward to trying the lemon chicken soup and falafels as well. They have a nice patio area and would be an ideal place to host a rehearsal dinner or throw a party. The service was excellent too. We will be back again very soon.

I tried this place a couple of days ago with friends and overall, I enjoyed the experience. The server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and spent a lot of time explaining to us what different things meant. The only downside was that she was very loud, so she literally hurt my ears as she was talking next to me and some other diners kept looking at us because they could hear the entire conversation. The chicken in my dish was succulent and juicy. The pita bread was warm and well seasoned. The hummus was regular hummus, good but nothing spectacular. The rice meet my expectations. I was impressed with the yogurt sauce and the green beans. The lemon cake was moist and tasty. The décor is cute although slightly crowded. Seemed clean though, and the food came fast even though it was pretty crowded at lunch time. I’ll go back.

Love the food at this place, the lemon rice soup is wonderful as is the kefta and just about everything else we have ever tried there including the French fries!

Love that this cozy little place is a local family owned business. It’s not really Greek, not really middle eastern. Owner is half Greek, half Egyptian & that unique diversity shows in the menu. LOVE the Hot pita that just shows up at your table & the hummus is some of the best I have ever had. However, the chicken shawarma was not a typical shawarma it didn’t have the pickle & the pita wrap was very thin. Too thin for my taste. It fell apart too easily. The falafel was ok but there was not very many veggies inside, it fell completely apart & the sesame sauce was not my thing. I haven’t tried everything on the menu I would like to. I would give it another go & try some other things if in the area. The service is fantastic & the patio was lovely.

Not good. The dolmas were disgusting. Tasted like they had Ragu or something in them. I’ve eaten them at so many different places and never found them to taste as strange as they did here. Falafel wasn’t very good either. Maybe it’s a different style of Mediterranean than I’ve had at all the other places I’ve gone too, but it just wasn’t for me. Service wasn’t great either. There were regulars in there that they went on and on with but to be a first time guest, we were kind of ignored. I won’t be back. I’ll drive out further for the good stuff!

Awesome food! Went in and was greeted right away, placed a Togo order and food was ready in about ten minutes. So glad I found a good Greek/Mediterranean restaurant. Will definitely come back!

We really enjoy Mediterranean foods. We have tried out a couple of places throughout the metropolis. This place was very good in some aspects. There hummus was perfect. The pita bread was more cracker like. The Greek lasagna was very plain and the ground beef in it was too mushy and overwhleming. Their shawarma wasn’t bad, however a tad bit too much curry though. Overall, it’s a place if we are in the area we might stop by, but not somewhere we will drive out of the way for.

Had a terrific first experience yesterday! Hubby & I were seated quickly and had a really helpful waitress who gave good suggestions as we hadn’t had Greek/Med food before. Our food came out pretty quickly and everything was fresh. They have the best pita I’ve had in a long time. I tried the schawerma combo with tabbouli salad and it was FANTASTIC! My husband got the Mixed Grill and ate very single bite. The baklava was heavenly. I ate so much and still had an entire to-go box full which could be another entire meal. All for a great price. Nice atmosphere; wish we had sat in the sunroom area it was so nice outside. We can’t wait to go back. One of our favorite places now. So glad we tried something new.

Come here! I’ve been to the location in Keller and drive by this location every day and thought I’d give it a try. Husband and I went here for Valentines day. The restaurant was nicely decorated with white table cloths and red napkins with balloons tied up around the restaurant. I ordered the meza plate with babaganoush, tzatziki and Hummus. I had the potato leek soup and the lamp entrée. SOGOOD!!! For dessert I ate the tiramisu. The dessert was cold and just melted in your mouth. I will definitely come back.

I debated about giving 3 – 4 stars. I will say that I would go back. Here were the good things: * BYOB! I love BYOB restaurants– 2 entrees, ½ an appetizer and ½ a dessert(split those with another couple) set us back $ 40. * I got the Souvlaki(requested ½ chicken and ½ beef). The description says its skewered– it’s not. Maybe it was at one time? Anyways, the meat was very tasty, and the chicken was juicy. * the tzatziki was awesome on the Mesa plate. Things I didn’t love: * Every entrée is served with green beans– many people on Unilocal have complained about these, why aren’t the owners reading that? The green beans are very clearly canned green beans with stewed tomatoes. I mean, if I made them at my own house, I would think they were«okay, but not worth making again.» For a restaurant– that’s just sad. * the pita bread tasted like flour. It was good to dip in the hummus and tzatziki sauce, but not good on its own. * the lights– why do suburbia restaurants insist on super bright lights for dinner? Ruins the atmosphere.

Great food! Great service! Hummus is a must to try as an appetizer. I had the chicken shawarma pita for the entrée. Great taste and food portion. Always nice to try a new place when I come into town. Staff was very welcoming and polite. Will definitely come back when I’m in town.

Meh Tried Thai place again after eating here over a decade ago and now o know why I haven’t been back. Food is blah and has really no flavor. Hummus was meh and had a hamburger pickle in the center… Huh? Shawarma was nothing special at all… but I also think it’s the blend of spices I didn’t jive with me.

I’ve been to «the Med’ maybe 3 times over the past 4 years for lunch and all times have been amazing. Went today and introduced some coworkers to it. They got sick of me raving about how good the Lemon-Rice soup(yes, you heard that right) was but it easily lived up to expectations. I was also fortunate enough to try the Lentil soup and I must say, there will be quite a dilemma now on my next visit just which soup to get. The Lentil was thick and rich and seasoned perfectly. I can’t think of a nicer cup of warmth on a cold day. For entrees, 2 of us had the Gyro(«yee-roh») and another had Chicken Shawarma. The meats were seasoned well, juicy, hot and delicious. We ordered Plates and not Wraps so ours came with vegetable(seasoned green-beans) and rice. Both accompaniments were fantastic but the meats were what stuck out. Portions were easily enough for lunch and I can’t see anyone going home hungry. Prices were around 10 bucks for a plate. «The Med» will be on a regular lunch rotation now since I’m working in the area again. Highly recommended.

Great place with equally great tasting food. The hummus and pita bread were delicious. Everyone in the group enjoyed their order which included lots of hummus, falafels, and chicken shawarma. We stopped and picked up some beverages to drink since it’s also a BYOB-made for a great night.

This place is so good! My husband and I had been on a hunt for a good Mediterranean restaurant and we stopped looking as much once we found this place. I’ve had the lamb dish as well as a gyro. My husband always gets the mixed grill dish. Both are seasoned well and cooked to perfection.

One of our favorite restaurants. We’ve moved to Waco tx and now, each time we back at Colleyville — stop here every time. We always order meza plate — which is sample of three dips, they have the best pita bread, fresh, just cooked and as much as you can eat. I love mushroom soup and Greek salad, always bring my own wine. my husband love their gyros. Do not hesitate to visit this place, great service and good always!

I’ve been there about 3 times. The only good thing is(1) you can bring wine in and(2) their lemon orzo soup is pretty good. Otherwise it’s just mediocre. If you do choose to go and decide to make a reservation, be sure to tell them INSIDE and don’t plan on actually having one when you get there. They aren’t very organized and will likely not have a table for you.

The food is always fresh, well prepared and delicious. I love that there are options for everyone and if you can’t decide what will fit you best, the chef will come to your table and help you find something that will work for you. The staff are friendly and attentive and the prices are reasonable. For those with big appetites you’ll find the portions meet your expectations. Love this restaurant!

2ndUPDATE: I’ve decided to update my update, as the owner contacted me to apologize for our recent experiences. That’s worth giving them another chance. I’m sad to say I have to revise my review. The last few times we ordered our gyro platters, they got our orders wrong, the food was cold, and they completely ignored us when we wanted to pay, which made our wait even longer. The last time they were also a bit rude when we mentioned the one gyro wasn’t supposed to have tomatoes(as we had requested). Given the prices compared to other Mediterranean spots, we expected better.

I’m officially obsessed with Café Medi and would urge anyone who enjoys greek food or wants to try it for the first time to check this place out. The service is top notch. While Chaz has been an EXCELLENT server for both my visits, the whole Café Medi crew comes by the table to clear plates and make sure you are happy with your experience. The food is authentic, plentiful, and delicious. Each entrée comes with either a soup or salad, the lemon rice soup is my favorite. The hummus makes for a great appetizer and is nice to have with a meal to dip meat in. However, the meal also comes with some great dipping sauces. Make sure to come hungry, because they aren’t stingy with portions! Thanks again to Chaz and the rest of the staff for creating such a great dining experience, I’ll be sure to stop by whenever I’m in town! Note: This is a BYOB restaurant. Conveniently, there is a liquor store nearby.

I’m a very picky foodie and I was amazed with the vegetarian platter here but can’t speak for the meats. I got the vegetarian platter with cucumbers«not pita» to dip into the hummus etc. Very authentic!!! Very satisfied would come again. I had a bite of the pita bread and wasn’t impressed at all actually was terrible from what I’ve had from other places.

We came to celebrate my husbands birthday and were not disappointed. The staff is very polite and friendly. The owner came and checked on our table and chatted with our children. He was very kind and even promised our youngest dessert if he finished his dinner. I had lemon rice soup, which is delicious and a must have when here; and the vegetarian plate, which was wonderful as well. My husband had the Greek salad, followed by Moussaka. He had absolutely no complaints. Dessert was Tiramisu and Baklava, which was shared around our table and enjoyed by all. We can’t wait to go again!
