Shalom Automotive

I took my car in to Shalom, Dennis told me the bearings in the water pump & the thermostat were causing it to overheat. It would cost 497.00 to fix the overheating problem. I picked my car up two days later & only drove a few miles when it overheated again. I took it back to the shop & he said he would take a look. Later he called & said it had to be something more. When I went to pick it up he wrote me a check for $ 200.00 and said he was sorry for not looking further for the actual problem. On my way home from the shop steam started coming out from under the hood. I checked & he had left the air release screw to the engine open. This caused the coolant & water to spew all over. I am very unhappy with this service.

I worked in Hutto for a few years and this shop was on the same street as my job. When my little Mazda protégé broke down, one of the owners at my job told me about Dennis at Shalom Automotive. Dennis is a wonderful person and he is a mechanic with integrity. Imagine that? He did several major repairs on my car and never overcharged me, was always upfront about the costs of parts and labor. The only reason I have not gone back to Dennis is because I moved and now work in South Austin. I have yet to find a mechanic I trust as much as I trusted Dennis.
