As many have said before, the crooked business practices of this gym really cannot allow me to give them anything above 1 star. When you call to cancel, they direct you to their billing company. They say it should be easy. BUT you will have to send a CERTIFIED letter to Paramount Acceptance(so be sure to plan a trip to the post office), they will lose your letter, you will have to follow up with Paramount Acceptance, they will claim they never received your letter, you will continue to be billed, you will call the gym, they will act as if they have no control over your billing and then they will direct you back to the business that lost your letter. DON’T EVENTHINK it’s going to be as easy as sending an email or placing a phone call(cuz we’re living in 1950 or something?). I would suggest going to another gym to avoid the inevitable occasion when you realize this place offers nothing special and you are left paying your bill 3 months after you move out of town.

I guess you could call me a gym junkie. I like this place! No frills or anything, just straight up fitness facility. Good price too!

You CAN get past the $ 99 upfront charge if you have any negotiating skills or wait till they have a sale where they waive the fee without any negotiation(which they seem to have several times a year). If you don’t want to pay it, good… less people using the equipment, go to anytime fitness. Like any gym there will be some douchey guys and gals, but I don’t come here to socialize I come here to work out. I’ll actually leave a review about the gym itself and not about how attractive the women are or how big of douche bags some of the patrons are. The gym itself is pretty solid. They have plenty of cardio equipment and lots of free weights and machines. I’ve been coming to word gym for over a year and haven’t rand into any issues with it getting too crowded. Sometimes you’ll get people sitting on a machine for a while but GOODNEWS!!!, they have other machines you can use while you are waiting for them to get done. The locker room smells like a dudes locker room… terrible. I wouldn’t reccomend the showers because they got some serious funky smell coming out of them. If they had a better locker room it would be five stars, but we are in Idaho Falls not at the Bellagio in Vegas. It’s only $ 10 a month so I can’t expect too much out of a locker room, also I have a great big clean shower at my house I can use. INCONCLUSION: If you are looking for a place to lift that has lots of machines, free weights and cardio machines. This place is great.

Gyms are great, especially when you are assured that cancelling is as easy as making a phone call. Oops! Better read the lengthy contract carefully, because while paying is just a phone call away cancelling for some reason requires a CERTIFIED letter requesting cancellation 30 ahead of time. What? Certified letters cost extra and require a trip to the post office, so don’t plan on the process being quick, convenient, or cheap. Oh, and to discover this questionable policy you do have to make a phone call and linger on hold for some time(my average is 10 minutes). It is a nice enough low class gym, but it just isn’t worth the hassle when you want to change. Start with the better gym if you can.

This is a very strange, non-Culture forward type of town, if you’ve been a world traveler. thus, expect to see some very strange«non-culture forward» type of behavior in this gym. this was my observation while i was here for about a month. I watched a very attractive black woman working out in the gym. I think she MIGHT have been a celebrity/athlete? Each time i saw her, it was obvious that she was way beyond these people’s athletic prowess. The guys stared at her as if she came from planet Pluto. It was so obvious that they were attracted to her — yet had no idea how to act around her. One day, she was working out doing chin-ups. Lots of them. in-between sets, she would rest on some equipment nearby. Two guys who didn’t bother to ask her if they could work in — just took over the equipment. This chick stood her ground, and did her chin-ups anyway, in between their yacking and half-hearted sets. One of the guys who was apparently intimidated by her started repeatedly yelling: «YEAH! ALLNIGHTLONGRICO!» and started clapping his hands. He then began making insulting remarks regarding her«looking like a man he had seen on T.V.’. I mean really? haven’t we come out of the dark ages? A physically well built woman = man? He then proceeded to talk loudly about the young lady saying«How ugly she is». and other choice words. She was beautiful in my opinion. And what made her even more attractive? she resumed her workout without a hitch. She took the high ground, obviously. Folks? i haven’t seen this type of behavior since i was in the 5th grade. Boys who can’t have their way — and begin talking trash to others(and there were plenty of them) who are willing to listen and give their feedback over an apparent«Outsider». The gym in general is pretty decent for the price. Otherwise, i stayed there a month and got the hell out of there. If you stay long enough, you’re IQ will drop just like the majority of rest of the clients.

TIPTOOWNER! When you hang a huge sign above your establishment saying«$ 9.99 a month NOCOMMITMENTS, NOKIDDING». Then when a first time customer walks in with $ 9.99 and you decide to surprise them with a $ 99.00 commitment package, i think that’s grounds for FALSEADVERTISING! If your going to make a promise to the costumer than you need to be a big boy or girl and you honor it, and if you simply have no integrity or honor than don’t post huge banners with false hope. Thanks, but no thanks! Semper Fidelis
