One of my favorite restaurants. way better than Texas Roadhouse. They season their steaks and mushrooms fantastically everytime. Last time they slightly overcooked the steaks but not to death where I would have to send it back. I will just start ordering meduim rare from now on we had their brownie sundae and that was really good too. They make awesome martinis as well! The only complaint I have about them is trying to get to the bathrooms… you always have to try to dodge servers and tables everytime. Other than that, it would be 5 stars for me. I will always return unless something changes.

Food is average at best. Service is always painfully slow even when they aren’t busy! They have the absolute dullest steak knifes you will ever have to use. I have ordered take out from here many times(only because it’s the only steak house in Imlay city) and every time they seem to mess up my order, so make sure you always check your order before you leave. The only reason this place always looks so busy is because of the lack of sit down restaurants in the area.

The first time at this location, and the last. Found a bug and hair in my salad. Told waitress she said she told the manager and they will be over to talk, never showed up. Asked for extra crispy fish it was not cooked. Been to Blind Fish and Lucky in Davidson but great food

We have been to Lucky’s five or six times. There is ALWAYS a wait unless you get there before the doors open for the day. We did wait all those times, up to an hour or a bit more. We usually are a group of six, and they don’t seem to get the idea of pushing two tables together for a group. THEYDONOTTAKERESERVATIONS! They are almost always full, so the management doesn’t care if people just leave. The last two times we tried, the wait quote was 1 ½ hours. With kids of 11 and 12 in the group, we decided both times to go elsewhere, although we were wanting BBQ ribs. We did leave both times. The Mulefoot(Pub?) is just north on the same road. They are more expensive than Lucky’s, and they don’t usually do ribs, but they do take reservations and there is very little waiting involved. They are more gourmet. They do a number of excellent pork dishes, great filet mignon, very good fish, delicious sides and desserts. The kids love their food, as do the adults. The menu changes frequently and everything is fresh and the staff knows their stuff. Next time you don’t want to wait at Lucky’s, drive a block or two north to Mulefoot(that’s a type of hog) on the same side of the road, just north of the 69. Four stars for Lucky’s because of the wait, and five stars for quality at MULEFOOT.

We live about three miles away from Lucky’s. We have gone there maybe a half dozen times a year. About 90% of time, our expectations are met or exceeded which are odds I would take any time. Their food is of very good value and their formula for customer satisfaction works. Kinda noisy at times but place is packed so expect that. I’ve often wanted to have them do call ahead seating but they are just not that sophisticated nor do they have to be I guess for continued success.

I come here all the time, food is always good. Chef Dan cooked me the grilled salmon tonight and it was the best I had there yet and it is always good. If you are ever in the area I recommend stopping in and giving it a try, you will get a lot of food for the price and won’t be dissatisfied!

Stopped for lunch. I thought that the food was plentiful but nothing special. I had a chicken salad and a side of asparagus. The asparagus was deep fried without any type of seasoning, who does that?

Let me just start off by saying, that I used to love Luckys. It was a place we frequently had family and friend get togethers. Sadly, this is no longer a restaurant we’ll be recommending or dining in at. I’m not sure if there’s been a change in ownership or management, but the quality and service at Luckys has gone downhill. We met some friends and dined at Luckys yesterday. It was 2pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was at 80 percent capacity, yet we were told(and waited!) 45 minutes for a table. We caught up with friends and didn’t mind the wait. We were seated at a table and waited over 10 minutes for our server to arrive and greet us. This was the foreshadowing of our service to come! Rude, ridiculously slow, and inattentive. I have Celiacs(allergy to gluten) and called ahead and was told salad dressings weren’t a worry as they were made in house and did NOT contain gluten. Also told the same of the marinades. My celiacs is a new diagnosis since I had last dined in at Luckys. But, after my call, I felt confident I would have food options– salad, steak, shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. Their menu isn’t labeled so you have to call ahead and/or rely on your service staff to make sure you don’t accidentally get an ingredient you’re allergic to while there. Just to be sure, before ordering I made sure to double check with our waitress. Gluten? No, no– no gluten in the wedge salad or dressing. Well, $ 90 for our bill for 2(we all had separate checks), and 2 cold steaks later, we left with some of the poorest service we’d ever had there. I spent the ENTIRE evening sick w terrible GI cramps, diarrhea, and a rash. So careful about what I had ordered, I called again suspicious that the salad dressing contained gluten. Again, I was told no. My husband then called and spoke with a manager asking for the brand name of the dressing so we could investigate ourselves. It is made in house and YES it contains gluten. *Face Palm!* And ZERO apology. Instead we got a «I don’t know what more to say». Seriously?! Why did it take getting sick and 5 staff members to find this out? Clearly, a lack of management training. I was a waitress for 12 years while in school and I give a LOT of leeway to wait staff– been in those shoes and know what it’s like. But, this is unacceptable. Celiacs isn’t a fad diet. My body attacks itself when I’m exposed. Exposure can lead to serious health problems and even to neurological changes in a developing infant in a pregnant mother. There isn’t a magic pill or medicine I can take– my treatment is a strict, 100 percent gluten free diet. It certainly isn’t easy, isn’t optional or some«fad diet» that I’ve somehow chosen. And, I work very hard to follow it and ensure it doesn’t impact my life more than it has to. Think all restaurants have gluten containing only options and I just shouldn’t eat out? Well, that’s crazy. Just down the road at Mulefoot you can get FAR stellar service and food– gluten-free & non. In fact, for us celiacs and gluten conscious folk, The Mulefoot knocks it out of the ballpark. Tasty, well executed plates and a progressive, innovative menu offering over 70 percent of its menu with gluten-free options. Even the bar offers a gluten-free craft beer. Bravo. We’ll gladly take our business there.

Not so Lucky… Based on reputation and location decided to go out for my parents wedding anniversary to the Imlay City location due to people coming in from all over and a member of the family had to work until 6 and lives in Port Huron. First to arrive my parents put our name in at 6:30 for 5 adults, I arrived shortly after, was made aware that it would be probably 45 minutes or a little longer which was fine as we were waiting on a couple of family members to arrive. A little over an hour staff said no more than 30 minutes more. This went on and on to the point that we are stuck as Imlay is not a place I now and had no idea of any other restaurants around. So while sitting at the bar watched the bar staff touch money, dirty bar towels, wipe her nose and grab my olives with her hand for a martini that I refused — yuck. As well the other bar tender touched every pickle in the container at the bar after scratching her nose and touching money. Jon Taffer would have went ballistic when the bar staff used glasses to get ice out of the tub. Finally seated at a table by 9:00, ordered, food arrived cold. On top of cold food, staff that told us to hold tight it will be any minute, walked out of the kitchen with food before our table was served. Oblivious the manager didn’t really seem to understand why we were upset and offered an apology that certainly wasn’t empathetic or sympathetic. The only bright spot was the waitress that served us. She certainly understood we were not happy and was very attentive. She should be working at a better place. My recommendation — avoid this place. No reason for us to have waited so long, they should have kept track and tried to accommodate us some how.

Food is good and the atmosphere is pleasant, but that is overshadowed by the slow service. If you have all afternoon, come here. If you have any sort of schedule, don’t.

Conveniently located just off of I-69, I stopped in for a weekday lunch while traveling and was quite pleased with my experience. Nice facility and friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and professional staff. I enjoyed the French Dip with fries and creamy horseradish sauce. It was on special that day so it came with a cup of soup as well — and was way too much food for one person to eat! I selected the chicken tortilla soup and it had great flavor without being too salty(as tortilla soups sometimes are). The sandwich was excellent — unique and flavorful bun; perfectly cooked meat, and the creamy horseradish sauce made me almost completely ignore the au jus. The prices are also insanely low — I would gladly have paid 50% more for my meal, and would expect to do so at a place of this caliber. I will definitely make a return visit the next time I am in the area.

Place is perfect every time. Steak, crab legs, prime rib, shrimp they have it all. Wedge salad is must, soup is great too. Always a fight between soup or salad, very hard choice. Drinks always prepared to perfection. Service always good. Prices very reasonable for a steakhouse. Everything is always fresh and well prepared. I just wish it was closer.

I’m from New Jersey so when I come here I feel like a queen! The value for the quality and quantity of food is terrific. I always start with the bread that they give out, warm and fresh every time! I’ve had the filet mignon and salmon, both delicious! Plenty of sides to choose from. I’ve had the creamed spinach and steamed broccoli. I haven’t tried dessert here because I’m always too full to try any. Half the restaurant is dining room area with tables and booths. The other half has a bar and bar tables/booths. Either way, it’s worth a try!

This is a good example of time management ruining an otherwise pleasant experience. The space is very nice, cozy tables, a nice fireplace, and warm lighting effects. The food is quite good, they’re generous with the bread, and the soups are well made with fresh ingredients. But the wait time was unacceptable. On a busy work lunch, it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes for your food to come out. It took nearly 30 minutes today, and they weren’t at full capacity. Overall, might try again, but only if I have time to kill.

My boyfriend and I stopped at Luckys this evening after we both agreed it’s well worth the 45 min, 40 minute drive! We arrived mid dinner rush around 6:45pm and had a 45 minute wait. Place was packed. Waiting area was filled. People even sat and waited in their cars. We got seated in a nice booth. Victoria was our waitress and we were greeted immediately and she took our drink orders in a snap! Quickly brought us our Cokes and we ordered our food as she dropped off a fresh loaf of bread(so good!) My boyfriend ordered the 22oz ribeye and asked for it between medium rare and medium and it was perfect. Zip sauce was a perfect touch and he ate the whole steak and it stayed juicy from start to finish. His side of fresh asparagus was a pretty large portion. Was a little hard and tough but far from soggy. I ordered the stuffed salmon, the special. Was topped with shrimp, crab meat and creamy lobster sauce. Huge portion. I’m pretty hesitant of ordering salmon at restaurants because the list of restaurants I don’t like salmon at is pretty lengthy. Best salmon I have ever had. Tons of seasoning and spices but not too overpowering. Juicy. Falls right apart with each bite. The shrimp and crab meat added a nice flavor to each bite. Menu is pretty big and it’s hard to choose what to eat because everything sounds so good. Most entrees come with one side and a salad. Desserts and dressings are made in house. Service was outstanding. We got our food quickly. Everything was prepared perfectly. My boyfriend took 40 minutes to eat his ribeye and our waitress Victoria didn’t rush us at all. We get a ton of food for your money. Well worth the drive. Can’t wait to go back soon!

It’s a typical steakhouse and bar combo, however, the food is AMAZING! Everything arrived fresh and the wait staff was accommodating. We went for a bday party, and they even put our own cake in their freezer for us, and brought it out and the staff sang happy birthday with us! I had the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, and the stuffed grouper for the entrée and it was beyond delightful. The portions were perfect, and they bring loafs of hot fresh bread before your meal, which are to die for. The only true negatives of the restaurant are that they do not take reservations, so therefore you have to arrive super early if you have a large party, and the atmosphere is a bit loud, however, that being said, it was well worth the drive, and the experience was amazing! I’d highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a good, yet super casual steakhouse for dinner!

LOVE their bread– it is so good!!! Took my mom here on Tuesday 8÷13÷14 for her first visit to get her and the rest of our party(family members) addicted to it’s overall tasty food options at VERY reasonable prices. 7 people ate for $ 115.90 after tax Here’s the run down– everyone enjoyed the bread and their dinner– nailed it! Dinner salads come w/the entrees– they have good ranch dressing. Two people ordered the shrimp scampi $ 15.99 each, I liked my steakhouse salad $ 10.99– I ordered the filet medallions cooked medium, ribeye w/loaded baked potato $ 19.99, 12 oz prime rib $ 16.99, sea bass $ 14.99, chicken fingers $ 4.49, a glass of Cabernet and Pinot Nior $ 5.25 each The bathroom was clean, Heather our server was attentive and had a pleasant personality. We went at 5pm on a Tuesday and they were just starting to get busy– weekends have long waits so plan accordingly. They take reservations for parties of 10 or more. Eat here– you won’t be disappointed!

The always consistently, perfectly, laid back, unpretentious steak house. I’ve been coming here for a few years and have been able to stop in a couple of times a year on my travels to visit family in the surrounding area. I have always been incredibly happy with the surroundings, food and staff. The restaurant itself is very large and open, with country style tables and décor that gives off a vibe that maybe masks what great food will shortly be filling, and I mean filling, the table. There is no sticker shock here either, prices are very reasonable. Yes, the portions here are huge, everything starts as the upsized combo meal, if you catch my drift. They bring out these amazing mini-loaves of bread that I haven’t had in any other restaurant, as far back as I can remember. Think about the Olive Garden breadsticks, then make them good. This visit was a Christmas Eve lunch stop with family and the sandwich menu was a great respite. Around the table was a Grilled Chicken Salad, Mushroom Swiss Burger and I had the Prime Rib French Dip Sandwich. The burgers were huge, the salad was as big as the person eating it and I had pretty much a whole Prime Rib tucked into a bun with an Au Jus that was very tasty. Kudos and carry out boxes all around. Listen, if you’re in the area, and want something other than fast food, this is the place for you.
