D’ames Spa

We took our bride to be there last Friday. It was one the best service I have recieved. They were so accomdating. Our massages were great, the owner got us a private cabana by the pool. The pool side waiter was excellent, the pool and spa are gorgeous, We spent the day poolside right in front of the ocean with great service, doesn’t get much better

Gorgeous place to come and get a massage. Therapists are great. Christine, the owner, ALWAYS wonderful and caring. A true gem now a days with all these groupons/​living socials that you dont want to take a chance on. This place doesn’t need it. They earn every penny. Tries to make your experience perfect every time. Even brought my sister when she was here from out of town and she made sure we had Champagne to relax with. Goes above and beyond. Would love to see the hotel expand this area for her. I.E. Sauna, Steam-​room, but still a perfect little Spa with amazing views of our incredible Imperial Beach. Highly recommend.

I’ve been a member of the monthly massage club since 2011 and always look forward to going to D’ames! The staff are wonderful and the service is exceptional. It’s a sanctuary in IB.

Excellent service. I have been coming here for about since 2013. I moved soon after my first visit they were so wonderful that I kept driving 2 hours to come get my facial fix. It didn’t take long until I started bringing my teen who at the time had uncontrollable acne..

I love Jessica who does my facials. She is very knowledgeable and knows my skin. I also take my pre teen granddaughter here. The spa is kinda small and it can be a bit noisy. I have membership so get my facials for a great price and I can exchange my monthly facial for a massage if I wish or give it to a friend! Membership is the way to go.

I was disappointed, overall. I was a guest at Pier South and booked my appointment online at 5:00 AM for a 10:15 massage later that day. A few hours later, I was emailed work that I needed to complete early Eastern time. I went to the spa at 9:00 AM to attempt to move my appointment to later in the day, only to find they didn’t open until 10:00. I looked online to try to change my appointment time, but their website didn’t allow it. I found they had several appointments open in the afternoon, so I didn’t worry. I called at 10:05 and asked to move my appointment to the afternoon, but the person who answered refused & told me there was a 6-​hour cancellation policy. I explained that I had recently looked online and there were several openings with their male therapist, but she claimed they had received many calls & the spots were no longer available. I asked how that could happen when they had only been open 5 minutes, she said she’d been there since 9:30. I asked if she answered the phone 30 minutes before they opened, but she didn’t respond clearly. After being threatened with being charged full price if I didn’t come, I went down for the massage. Unfortunately, things didn’t get better. Elizabeth, my therapist, told me that the California massage I had scheduled would have light to medium pressure. I asked if she would use firmer pressure on my very sore neck & shoulders, she told me that I needed to walk back out to the front desk to change to a different massage, if I wanted more pressure. By this point, I was exasperated and just got on the table. I feel like I paid $ 160 just for someone to rub oil on my body for 80 minutes – no help for my sore neck. During the massage, the woman at the desk (I assume Christine) started laughing and talking so loudly on the phone about a personal matter that it drowned out the soft music in the treatment room. Thankfully, Elizabeth went to tell her to quiet down. When asked at checkout how my massage was, I responded rather despondently that it was just, «Ok.» No further questions were asked, which I had come to expect because I had not witnessed much concern for my experience since booking. I tipped my therapist well, since I believed the problems were due to internal policies and a lack of customer service training, not my therapist’s skill. I’ve been fortunate to frequent many high-​end spas around the world; sadly, D’ames Spa is NOT what I’ve come to expect from a spa inside a top Marriott property! I believe they would benefit from extensive customer service training.

I love this spa for all my services! Christine hires quality staff and the spa is a welcoming and relaxing environment! I love the offer of wine and chocolate with every visit! I see Jessica for facials and waxing and Quinn for massage and highly recommend both!

Great experience, professional knowledgeable and very friendly. Denise was my esthetician and can only say she is fabulous.

Yes, I only live a few blocks from this magnificent place! First I’d like to congratulate the owner from moving to this amazing location. As a Marriott fan, I know it must have been a dream come true to partner with such a recognized line for superior quality.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place unless you are one of those people that simply can’t be pleased. The location is unbeatable (right on the ocean), the staff is ALWAYS courteous, and the service is satisfying without being over the top. I have gotten massages and mani/​pedis here and have no complaints.
They treat you with coffee/​tea/​wine (yes, wine) and chocolates while you wait, and that is even before the real magic begins. If I didn’t have 3 kids ages 2 and under, I’d be a member. I just received a gift certificate for my birthday and cannot wait to schedule an appointment. I’m getting excited and relaxed just thinking about it. Does anybody want to babysit?

Hidden gem in IB! This spa is located inside the modern, Pier South Hotel. The spa is small but services were great! I had an 80 minute massage and left feeling wonderful. The owner is lovely and welcoming. My only complaint is that the check in desk is located right next to the treatment rooms. The noises and talking can be quite distracting. The owner advised that the check in desk will be moved out of the space so this issue should be resolved soon. After your treatment you can go to the hotel restaurant and have a drink with an ocean view. Overall, I had a great experience.

It just doesn’t get better than this.
Christine and her crew are 100% pros. There is nothing to want for here. Just get here.

My boyfriend asked me if I wanted a massage today… «Umm YES!»
I was looking forward to getting a good rub down. My body has been sore from jet lag, my neck was all messed up from sleeping on planes, and my legs were tight from standing for long hours. Flight attendant problems.
I get massages often but this one was the BEST I’ve had! I think God broke the mold when he made Ricardo! His hands are magic! I requested that he focus more on my neck and shoulders. The pressure was great, he broke down a lot of my stubborn knots, and the scent of that lavender lotion had me hypnotized! Most relaxation I’ve felt in a long time!
My boyfriend also got his first facial while I was in my massage and the thoroughly enjoyed. He said it’s the best his face has ever felt! Plus he looks handsome as ever!
I highly recommend trying D’ames spa! The spa is so welcoming, beachy, coastal feel. The vibe is very calm and relaxing! The receptionist was such a sweetheart and greeted us with smiles! Definitely an awesome experience for us! We are obsessed and we’ll be back soon!

I have been doing business at this spa for over 4 years. Christine the owner is a gem and cares about her business and her clients. My husband and I both are regular customers. The massages and facials are the best and the products they use are first class quality. My favorite is the pumpkin spice facial! They are located inside the Pier South hotel and the spa is spotless clean and they always have wine, coffee or tea available for the guests. It is easy to get an appointment either over the phone or through the easy online booking system they utilize.
