Been here twice for lunch in the last couple weeks. The food is really pretty good for the amount of business they have and amount they cook. Place was clean. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Price fair. Parking easy.

Good, solid buffet. Fresh food kept well stocked and tended. The ice cream can be a bit mucky, but hey — kids are fast. The prices are fair and the place is clean. When we can’t afford Ameristar’ buffet, we come here.

Overall it is a clean establishment with a good amount of variety. The food is generally good but their chicken dishes, such as General Tsos, really need a new recipe. I could order from a restaurant such as Mandarin house and much better chicken dishes. The sauces of the chicken dishes here is basically water, especially the honey chicken. Add some corn starch or something to make it thick. My favorites are the ginger shrimp and egg tarts. The staff has never been rude to my family but it’s obvious they are extremely busy workers who need some extra help, which might make others see them as unprofessional. The sushi isn’t amazing. Sakura sushi in Lee’s summit is much better for sushi. Be realistic. This is the Midwest and we do not have much fresh fish swimming around, so things aren’t going to be the best. This place is busy busy busy for a reason.

There is a good variety. Chinese food, Mongolian grill, sushi, salad and fruit bar, ice cream and treats. It’s like heaven for my kids. The food is always plentiful. I don’t have to constantly go back and forth when waiting for the food to be filled up again, and best of all its not old food that they keep having to come mix and turn over. This isn’t our first time here. We go about once or twice a month and it’s very consistent. The tables and booths are clean, and the restroom seems to be checked on quite regularly. Overall its a good olace to enjoy Chinese buffet foods. It would be comparable to the Mama Buffet one in Raytown, and definitely much better than the one up North on Antioch Rd. The waitstaff is pretty quiet, no much of talkers, but they do keep the drinks full and the table from filling up with empty plates. We always leave there giving at least 25% gratuity. To feed 2 adults and 2 toddlers for about $ 20 isn’t bad at all.

We’ve patronized MaMa Garden dozens of times since it opened, and also their sister restaurant in Raytown. We’re readily recognized by the owner’s wife when we enter, and also have dealt often with her sister. Both women are always nice people. And we love the food. But we’re not coming back. Ladies, you need to watch your servers closely and retrain them. –All– of them. They’re rude. They’re unhappy. They’re catty. They –hate– their customers. H-A-T-E. The service is getting slower and sometimes doesn’t happen at all. Servers will sometimes conjure up a half smile when the bring the check, thank us and call it good, but that’s the end of the road for them. And their customer service crowning glory is the older man that brings out the food to fill the buffet. The guy is overtly hostile towards anyone in his«zone». Almost comically so.(Stay out of his way… he’ll practically push you out of the way so he can empty those crab ragoons into the hot dish.) We don’t expect wait staff to fall over themselves with smiles and attentiveness, we just expect a modicum of professionalism. We’re extra good tippers despite the nasty behavior from wait staff.(We’re holding out hope that we will change the outlook of at least one of these miserable women…) And we smile pleasantly at the waitresses because we’re afraid that they’ll spit in our drinks when they refill them. You’ll be greeted pleasantly, and the food is great. But beyond that, the restaurant is bright, noisy, and you’re at the mercy of people that really dislike being there. I guess that one would call the experience«sweat shop dining». UPDATE: Me husband disagreed with this review. We ended up on Noland Rd last night, hungry, and decided to stop in. Friendly greeting, food was very good, and the waitress very rude. We felt right at home. When we paid our bill, my husband issued a simple thank you to the waitress and gave her a $ 10 bill. She didn’t acknowledge him and walked away. Husband: Did you see that?! She rolled her eyes at me!“ Ha ha ha! Case closed, Buh bye, Ma Ma.

Quite a positive turn around. I’ve eaten lunch here several times in the past month, and without exception the food was delicious. The staff was courteous and attentive.

Food was good but the waitress is rude and pushy felt like they just wanted us out Had same waitress twice and she was the same both times. Sadly we will not be back even tho the food was good. Work on your wait staff and teach them respect the customer and don’t demand tips those are given based on service!!!

Nothing different about this buffet compared to other Chinese places. The sushi selection was terrible. The avocado in the rolls looked brownish, too. The imitation crab was dry and rubbery; mind you I went here at noon. The service is wonderful, but the food just didn’t do it for me.

This was a wonderful buffet for the $ 10ish dinner price. Our family showed up at 7:45, which can be iffy when you go to a new buffet but we weren’t disappointed at all. All the food we are was good, except the shrimp in a stick was cold so we didn’t eat that. They had A LOT of stuff to choose from including different fish like salmon, catfish, and tilapia. The also had decent sushi and a nice hibachi. The restrooms were clean and the staff was nice. I’m going to remember this place for future trips to this neighborhood.

The food was shockingly good. The fried rice had a good taste, the ginger shrimp was excellent, and the spicy jalapeño chicken was great! Even the crab Rangoon was delicious and I’m picky. I will be back during lunch hours where the food is fresh. However, they wasn’t moving fast enough to replenish food.

Sometimes everything is good and fresh, but tonight was not one of them. Went about 6 p.m. and were seated promptly. Noticed the floor was sticky and damp. Normal buffet hazard because people get sloppy while serving themselves. I had potstickers to start, but noticed they were a little burned. Tasted one and found the inside to be mushy and tasteless, while the outside had a charred taste. Selected green beans and found them to be VERY salty. Got the Ginger Shrimp and veggies. Shrimp was tasty, but the veggies were almost raw. Tea was flowery and very good. One thing — children need to be supervised at the food line. I have seen kids pick up food, look at it, and then put it back in the tray. Ewwwwwwwww…

This is my family’s go-to Chinese buffet. It’s best for dinner when they have all the sea-food.

Something for everyone! We went after my daughter took my son and he wouldn’t stop talking about how good it was, and he doesn’t really like Chinese food! The food was warm and fresh tasting, even at 2:00 in the afternoon. We were seated right away and it was busy. The waitress was very attentive and on our refills and clearing dirty plates. Would definitely go back!

A few weeks ago I took my daughter to lunch here. We were seated immediately. I really liked the selections and their sushi was being made out in the open so you knew it was fresh. The sushi deserves its own review, it was excellent that day. The restaraunt was clean and the food was hot. I’d recommend the sautéed green beans and crab rangoon. Though we didn’t have any, the option was there for ice cream. It’s not soft serve(which I find better). Instead it was 9 – 12 large ice cream parlor sized containers that you scoop out yourself. The price was great since it includes the sushi. The staff was a bit rude though.

Definitely one of the best Chinese buffets I’ve ever been to. Sure will be coming back they have everything and it’s all fresh!

It’s OK, it’s a pretty standard Chinese buffet. Food is hot, and replaced reasonably often on the steam tables. Sushi selection is kinda small, as is the dessert spread. Tables aren’t crowded together, so it feels a little more roomy than some other buffets I’ve visited. The Guy likes it, but he can power through more teriyaki chicken skewers than any human ought to.

I went with my family — a party of 6, and the food was good as it usually is. The food is always consistently good. The service is questionable, and sometimes lacking. On this particular day, we went in the evening, around 8pm. The food on the steam table was so old and dried out that much of it was like eating jerky. This visit, my sister slipped on an area that I just walked across. There were no wet floor signs in sight. The only wet floor sign I saw was tucked under the server station. Keep in mind, however, I wear slip-resistant shoes by habit, as I work in a restaurant. I didn’t realize the floor was wet. Well, she went down, and smacked her head on a chair along the way. There was a table full of wait staff there at the table, and one in that particular chair. They all watched as she fell, and didn’t even stop rolling silverware to help. We were pissed. She got her meal comped, but the manager didn’t know what an incident report was, let alone what to do in this situation. Nobody at the table offered to help, but instead continued their work as to not be bothered by the situation. I don’t often rate restaurants poorly, but the level of service, the food, and the inability to help a patron in need is beyond me. We found out after calling several 1 – 800 numbers that we should have called the police to write up a report on the spot. If this ever happens again, we will not hesitate. Simply, keep an eye on your footing. They don’t care if you fall. They do have awesome food, most of the time, and I plan to go back in a few months. The customer service is always very poor, but the food is worth the trip, in my opinion. They are one of the few remaining buffet restaurants with a Mongolian grill and decent sushi.

I know why they give you lots of little napkins, so you can taste then spit out all the food. Out of the huge buffet, I could only eat a few things. Sushi was the worst, loosely rolled, dried rice. They make too much at a time so it has been sitting out for too long in my opinion. I was there on a Saturday night.

Mama Garden is your run-of-the-mill Chinese buffet. It has that sleezy, no-nonsense décor and it is chock full of loud, obnoxious families. I am convinced that almost all Chinese buffets across America use the exact same recipes or ready-made food products because this one also has pretty much exactly what you’d find in any other super-buffet from here to Portland. With that said, sometimes familiarity is a good thing and Mama Garden is a decent bet if you get a hunkering for some overly sweet General Tso’s or sweet and sour chicken. I certainly wouldn’t put Mama Garden on the top of my list of must-visit restaurants, but it is a fair choice if you just want something you can get everywhere else and aren’t too concerned about what exactly is going in your mouth.

This explains it all: Mama Garden is owned by the same people who own Mama china. This is in the building that Fuddruckers used to reside, and I had my doubts as I watched it be remodeled. My son had eaten there a couple of times, and I heard good things through him. I walked in to a very calming, and serine atmosphere, about half full. It is very different from Fuddruckers. The designers must’ve turned the building upside down. The left is the tables, they are pretty. They have gold Chinese scenes on them. To the right is the buffet area. We were immediately seated, and our drink orders were given to the waitress. The buffet is to the right of the entrance. I question buffets cause East Asia Buffet on 40 high way and Sterling is gross, and therefore, that is the taste I have when I hear«new Chinese buffet.» Well, this one is clean, bright, the air is nice, and the waiters are nice. I was wrong. The buffet has those yummy dumplings like at Po’s, except PO’s is way far from my house, I mean, not a bit close. It has a hibachi grill in the back(like Mongolian Barbecue, almost with the same food, except tofu) The hibachi area includes shrimp, scallops, steak, chicken and all the veggies. The buffet itself it has the general Chinese food: crab ragoon which I don’t’ think are Chinese, but they are good; sweet and sour chicken, dumplings, spring rolls, egg rolls, sesame chicken, green beans, and General Tso’s chicken, and ton’s more. There’s a sushi bar in the back. I don’t fathom sushi, and it wont’ ever be going in my mouth, so I can’t say if it’s good or bad. And there’s a dessert bar, with cake, and cookies. Ice cream of about 8 flavors is available with toppings. The salad bar had fresh(yes fresh, cut) pineapple, and other fresh fruit, and canned pineapple. But the best thing there is the dumplings, and the fried bananas on a stick. Oh my gawd. I could easily be the vegetarian that is waiting to come out of me, by going to this place, instead of Sonic’s. I forgot to ask if they have bubble tea. I didn’t see any signs, but the fried bananas made up for it. For 2 of us with drinks, was $ 19.40, I think. You pay at the table. Good food.
