You people make me sick, firing a veteran for wounds he incurred fighting for the freedoms you take for granted. To tell someone he sounds«too ghetto» to work for you, and to ridicule him by saying«he’s fat and lazy but he’s a vet so he gets away with it» all within earshot of a customer, you have proven what shitbags you truly are. You are the lowest form of life on this planet, I would highly enjoy stomping the shit out of you but then what would I do with the clothes??? Rot in hell you bastards.

Staff and management think it’s ok to treat a veteran employee like dirt and put him out of a job for a having a war injury. You guys are steaming piles of shit and should be ashamed of yourselves. In addition to being fired for having an injury from defending the freedoms of his shit head coworkers, the whole time he was there he got some other unfair treatment like them telling him he sounded«too ghetto» because he’s from LA. Other employees and manager blatantly talking shit in front of customers saying things like«he can just be fat and lazy because he’s a vet and can get away with it»(that was said in front of my friend while he was checking out, it’s not hearsay). You oxygen thieves owe this veteran an apology, big time, this isn’t going away and you will be held accountable for acting like you did.

James D. is correct in saying this location can be a bit pricey. The one thing about a lot of the products you get in the store is that you would end up paying shipping that would bump up the prices on a lot of items to the same price. I’ve ordered a few items online and found I would have paid just as much by going into the store. Now the one thing you really don’t get online is immediate help and expertise on materials and tools. The staff at Tandy really works to establish a rapport with customers. They’ve always assisted me with finding the right tool for what I wanted. They’ve provided excellent recommendations for other tools I find indispensable to my work with leather. Like James D., I’ve only recently picked up this craft as a hobby. The price of items is a lot like you find with any other craft or art supply. Sometimes you can find it cheaper with shipping online, and others you just can’t get it when you absolutely need it. I find the customer service and convenience make this location worth the extra cost.

While this location has a lot of great tools and accessories to make plenty of leather goods they lose 2 stars for being to expensive. As a recent hobby I got into leather working and visited the Omaha location and bought the first items to make a belt. I had a friends birthday come up and decided to give the KC location a visit as well. The leather strips were just too expensive. A 1.5″ belt blank was running 20 bucks. I found them at 2 sources online for 8.50−10 bucks. I had to go eat at the Chinese place next door and think about if I really wanted to make the purchase or not. I reluctantly overpaid for the leather and went home to start crafting. I’ll only visit this place if it is an emergency, and seeing as leather working is a life threatening hobby, I probably will order everything online.
