I am not a Unilocaler, I work in the food industry and know how hard the job can be, but the service I had tonight was inexcusable so I had to share. The food was actually delicious. the menu was fun and the drinks made right(the old fashioned way), but if your server is Brandon. prepare to feel rushed even if it is obvious it’s you date night. Still we left a 25% tip, but still can’t get over how unprofessional he was. The best service was provided by the runner, cocktail server, and the lovely girl that helped us while he was on break. Will be back soon, just sad that one person left this place lacking.

The beet burger is outta this world! It’s so good and vegan and it makes my heart and belly SOHAPPY. Their homemade pickles are bomb(and I am a picky pickle person– say THAT five times fast!) The service is awesome and their beer selection is impressive(and I don’t even drink.) if they had just a couple more vegan options on their menu, which I think they could totally pull off well, I’d give five stars. The atmosphere and food is great though.

Not my favorite place but some of the food is pretty good i.e. The jalapeño egg burger. I don’t like the fact that they represent themselves as promoting American craft but don’t carry Tito’s vodka, Jack Daniels, or similar items. The only vodka choice they give me is fugu and although the bartender said he thinks it tastes better than my usual(grey goose) I found it to be awful. And with all these whiskey selections you can’t carry Jack Daniels an American staple? I just don’t get it. I do like the beer selection here although when I found a beer that I loved — Deschutes Chainbreaker white IPA it was gone when I went back a week later. I’m sure there’s a market for Eureka burgers as they seem to be doing well but I’m afraid that it’s not me.

I am just getting around to writing my reviews from a 2 week trip down Palm Desert and southern California I took over Christmas and New Years 2015⁄16. I arrived here very late after driving all day from the San Francisco Bay Area. This visit was December 22, 2015. I was staying about a block down at the Embassy Suites in Palm Desert. This was one of the few restaurants that was not fast food that was still open. The hotel staff recommended it and as usual I checked it out on Unilocal and decided to go. We sat down at the bar thinking we would be served faster. The Bar Tender totally ignored us for more than 10 minutes. He was busy cleaning up his bar in anticipation of closing and getting out of there. It was 20 minutes before close. I had to flag him down. He was not waiting on anyone he was cleaning. I was going to order a glass of wine, but because he took so long and I was starving all I did was order food. I had a tortilla burger. It tasted so good. It had to be one of the best ever or my taste buds were fooled by my pangs of hunger ! When the bar tender finally waited on us he brought the food in record speed because he told us that the kitchen closed in 7 minutes. Well Yes, I get that, but if he would have waited on us when we first came in the kitchen would have had longer to prepare our food. The menu looked great and was price reasonably with a great variety of food for different tastes. You could eat there for what Unilocal considers to be $ but I rated it $$ because there was lots of choices right at the bottom of the $$ scale. The patio looked great but it was too cold that night. I would go back there again and I didn’t want to downgrade it to 3 stars for a Bar Tender who wanted to be off at the stroke of closing.

We’ve come a few more times since and I must up the stats for the service and the quality of the food. We noticed the bartenders and servers are much more knowledgeable, confident, and friendly, creating a team working atmosphere. Enjoyed the patio during happy hour and even had the dog. Before we knew it they already had a dog bowl waiting. Fun place to meet with friends for dinner, drinks, or happy hour. Good appetizers and salads. Also they are flexible with substitutions.

If you’re looking for a big, sloppy, delicious burger you need look no further. I’d heard good things and when a friend invited me for lunch I finally had a reason to drive the 20 minutes to find out what all the fuss was about. Now I know: a ginormous Cowboy Burger(cheese, bacon, crispy onion, bbq sauce) done to medium rare perfection on a tasty bun, side of fries for a more than fair $ 12 price. Only deducted the 5th star because I don’t love the«ambiance» of sitting in a busy parking lot, but otherwise… SUPERB!

I have been to this location and the Redlands location and have had a good experience at both. The restaurant has an awesome look to it on the outside, with a beautiful design and patio. Great for eating outside during the awesome winter weather in the desert. I ordered some tacos and the watermelon salad to make sure I had enough food. The watermelon salad alone was more than enough. I love watermelon, so I can’t really say anything bad about the dish. It was very tasty. The tacos were very flavorful and filling if you are looking for a snack. The beers on tap are from local breweries in Cali, with a wide variety of choices. The drinks do get a little pricey, so I recommend coming during happy hour. Overall, great food, friendly service, and an awesome atmosphere.

To me, this place is just somewhere to grab some burgers and wings while enjoying a beer. All of which I enjoy. However, the problem I run into every time I visit is their slow service and lack of attentiveness. It never fails that after you finish your drink, you can count on it sitting empty at least 10+ min. Even though this happens, I really do enjoy the food and especially the wings. Plus, there are no other places similar to it open as late.

Good burger, well executed onion rings, and quality beer selection. Instead of waiting for a table during the dinner rush on a Saturday night, opted for seating at the bar. The bartenders were reasonably quick to take orders and deliver them. The Fresno Fig Burger is worth a try, very different, but it worked. The only criticism I have is the menu description for the Breakfast Burrito, which contains«hen eggs». One would hope that they use hen eggs as rooster eggs are notoriously difficult to find. Overall, liked the place and will be back when I’m in town again.

Enjoyed a very nice late lunch/early dinner here while catching up with old friends on New Year’s Day. The weather was unseasonably cold in the desert, but the heaters adorning Eureka’s outdoor patio area made sitting outside quite enjoyable. We shared an order of truffle fries and mini corn dogs. I enjoyed my order of nachos, which appeared to have been double-fried. The chips were very thick and did not get soggy. This was appreciated as the ingredients were ample and I could not finish — but it wasn’t because my chips got mushy. The beer selection was stellar, but I ordered a Bloody Mary instead because they were on special. It was pleasantly spicy. I will have to convince my in-laws to return here with us the next time we are visiting them. This is one of the best places I’ve eaten in the Palm Desert area.

We went at 6 on a Wednesday and there was a 30 minute wait. They use the No Wait app, which would’ve been good if we knew ahead of time as there weren’t any reservation options. The app was cool because you could see how many people were ahead of you. You get a text when the table is ready. We thankfully waited at the bar. There was one small bench inside to sit on and the rest of the seating is awkward waiting space by the hostess stand. We were sat at a table inside. The legs on the tables are on the outside leaving you forced to be very close to your neighbor – terrible design. The chairs were horrendously uncomfortable, which isn’t a quality I usually notice. It was rough and I couldn’t wait to get up. On to the food… It was good. There were plenty of yummy options and plenty of things I’d like to try in the future. But, honestly, I don’t think I’d return because of those chairs. Old fuddy duddy me.

This place is always solid for a burger and beer. One of our favorites is the fig burger but the others are great as well. Also great selection whisky and their craft beer taps always change and are good. Give it a try if you haven’t yet!

Eureka has been on our to do list for quite some time. Today, we came in for a getaway lunch as our tikes had a function at school. When we sat down at the bar Jaime greeted us and announced that Happy Hour had just begun. YIPEE! It was our first visit so it took us a while to scan the menu and decide what tidbits we would ingest. The direction Jaime provided assisted in selecting the Fried Chicken Sliders and the Fish Tacos. Each starter brought two of each which was perfect for sharing. They disappeared so fast that we earned the nickname Copperfield. We both agreed that the Chicken Sliders were SCRUMPTIOUS in comparison to the Fish Tacos. Our bellies still had a little room so we dove in for the Shrimp Tacos. These were a definite HIT which matched up favorably with the Sliders. At Happy Hour prices I am surprised we were not arrested for armed robbery.(Ahem, armed with appetites) Factor in the miniscule cost for a Paso Robles Cabernet from Clayhouse Winery and it all came together. The banter at the bar with other patrons was bountiful and Jaime was helpful, insightful and engaging. We will absolutely be back real soon.

Cold food. Need I say more? We were with a table of 5 and everyone had cold food. Ouch. Fries, burgers, nothing even remotely warm. And when we sent ‘one’ of them back, they didn’t even re-plate, just heated it up even with the cold toppings! And when we told the manager she profusely apologized but made excuses and no confessions. I’m sure desert or a beer could have smoothed things over. Missed opportunity. Terrible food and nice but ineffective service.

I want to love Eureka! but there’s just something about it. Especially this location — smack in the middle of Indian Wells/Palm Desert. Now that’s a clientele that I’m not exactly 100% feeling. Still, even if the customers are douchey, at least the food can be good, right? Yup. The Cowboy Burger, with Truffle Cheese fries on the side — excellent. The staff is very attentive and takes good care of you. But man, there’s something about hanging out with the snowbird/out-of-towners/bro-ho-chella/BNP Paribas bourgeois that just kind of kills the vibe. Maybe if I drove out to their Redlands location I could enjoy it a little better.

Eureka! is good and I think that the 4 stars is accurate, but our server was a little pushy. We came around 530PM(my nephew is a year and half old) and we were seated right away. We were barley seated for 5 mins and our server asked what we wanted to order. Ugh, we literally sat down a few minutes ago. Anywho, I had the tortilla burger(with a bun) and I was happy. Good burger, not a lot of fries but ok for the most part.

I really wanted to like Eureka. My old roommate used to rave about this place and said that they had the best burgers she has ever had. I admit they offer a variety of burgers and they do sound delicious; however, in comparison to other burger spots(especially to those in LA) they just cannot compare. FOOD: I went in on a Saturday night and this place was packed. It was filled with people wanting to take a seat inside and cool off from the heat. Although they do have outdoor seating with mists above, no one wanted to sit out there. To start our meal, we ordered some beers. For a burger joint, they didn’t have a huge selection of beer… I was pretty disappointed. For food, I ordered their Fresno fig burger which is a beef patty with fig marmalade, melted goat cheese, bacon, tomato, red onion, spicy porter mustard, and your choice of side. Overall, the sweet and savory notes of the burger were quite nice. The sweetness from the jam compared to the bitterness of the arugula and savory/tangy goat cheese was a marriage of flavors. But the meat wasn’t as juicy as I’d like(and I ordered it to be a medium rare but I was a served a medium/medium well). All together, my burger didn’t leave me amazed. To me, it was just a regular old burger. For my side, I got their side salad because I wanted to try their truffle fries instead. Salad was standard. 3⁄5 Their parmesan truffle fries were just all right. The texture of the fries weren’t crispy. They were more flimsy and soft and I didn’t taste much truffle oil. SERVICE: Not amazing. This place was busy but our server just disappeared right after we ordered. We had to flag a different server to place an order of another round of drinks. Will I be back if I were in Palm Springs? Quite possibly. Would I come back if it was in LA? Very unlikely.

This was our first visit to Eureka! Great impression but we were confused about who our server was… it seems they must have different people who greet the table & get the drink orders, take the appetizer order, refill drinks, food delivery, take the actual meal order, & followup… I’m not saying that it was a horrible experience or anything… just different not being able to decipher who was our«real» server… haha. It was almost like a Mystery Dinner… Haha not really but I’ll live in my bubble & think of it that way… :-) The food was really yummy! I got the Salmon & Veggies… Yum… Hubby got the Steak Salad… got it Medium Rare… I had a bite or two, it was good… Tried the Lollipop Corndogs… meh! Hubby said he liked the hotdog place at the mall for this type of thing. He prefers the texture of dough & that it stays on the dog better than at Eureka… I agree! I thought the dough was too airy & easily fell off the dog making these kinda messy to eat, but it was nice to mix the 3 different sauces for a different flavor or to try each one separately… I think the point of a corndog is that it’s easy to eat… No moving parts… Hmm, along with the dough, maybe this is another area that Eureka should look into if trying to achieve perfection for this appetizer…**Eureka, please consider putting a flat stick in the dogs so that they don’t swirl around the thin round long toothpicks you have them on… Maybe they’d stay together if they weren’t moving around so much. The Cosmo was perfect! Perfection! Wow! Overall, great experience! We sat on the patio & there was no covering above us… just the cute lights & the beautiful stars! We will be back! Want to try the burgers & other apps… Check out their«Hoppy» Hour Specials… see my photos for the deals.
