Comedy Sportz is so hilarious that I got called out by the host for laughing before the show even began. I’ve always had fun here. Each show is different because its comedy with improv. I like the idea of the two teams, but in the end, everyone wins because you’ll be cracking up the entire time. Great fun for audience participation — speak up if you have a favorite celebrity, topic, etc. Great alternative to other downtown entertainment. Note to self — would be fun to get friends together here for a birthday. I’ve never been to the 17+ shows, only the all ages, so I can only speak to that, but everyone I went with was an adult and still enjoyed it. I was surprised that the drink and snack prices were reasonable as well.

ComedySportz is great, clean fun! The improve and price make for a fun night on Mass Ave. we’ve been twice and enjoyed both times. The last time(thurs June 25) they invited those at the 7:30 show to come back at 10 for free for the 10@10…for those aged 17+. It was AWFUL. Not funny, very crude and distasteful humor. Would not recommend that show.

We took my 12 year old twins here for the first time on a Saturday. This place is great. Small venue so order tickets ahead of time Bc I guarantee tickets will not be available at the door. Staff is very friendly, prices of snacks and drinks are very reasonable. There are great coupons out there too if you look. If you are looking for something to compare this show to I would say«Whose Line Is It Anyway» is a good comparison. The shows are kid friendly and have adult shows if you look for those times. But the sat at 7:30 was kid friendly and mine loved it and cannot wait to go back.

I hardly ever give 1 star reviews but this place deserved it. We were contemplating between 2 different comedy clubs in Indy and decided on this one because of the reviews and I am so disappointed. We checked online for adult only shows and they said the 10pm weekend shows are kid-free; thinking alright they will be funnier for 3 adult women. So we went to a Saturday 10pm show. We arrive and the workers and servers are really nice but the topics they would accept were extremely elementary. We finally asked them why more adult topics weren’t being accepted and they said their only adult show is Friday evening which the website does NOT say. We ended up leaving an hour into the show because it wasn’t at all funny and when my 2 sisters are wanting a nice evening out away from kids we knew we would have more fun elsewhere. Pro: nice staff, clean facility Con: falsely advertised, not funny, I would recommend going elsewhere if you want to laugh.

Went here initially for a teambuilding event at work and had the best time. Good, clean fun for everyone. Really neat concept of having the two teams, but in the end the audience wins no matter what. Obviously it’s a different experience every time, so there’s always something to look forward to.

I was a bit hesitant to go to an improv show, not sure why, but my husband also was afraid he’d unexpectedly end up on stage humiliating himself… Well we had a great time! We poorly planned our NYE outing and ended up at the Athenaeum for the ComedySportz NYE show. I was laughing out loud and shouting out my suggestions :) Some acts were definitely better than others, but if you liked«Whose Line is it Anyway», you’ll love this. For this special NYE show, there were NYE hats and noisemakers at all the tables with a sparkling grape juice toast at midnight. I have been to the actual ComedySports venue just once during IndyFringe for a standup show – not as fancy as the Athenaeum but very intimate

Great evening of entertainment — smaller crowd on a Thursday, and if anything, they over-delivered. Snacks a little pricey, but a whole lot cheaper than other venues. Out-of-town relative had a blast.

Clean humor, good for the whole family during the early show. Great customer service. Interactive experience. You may get pulled up on stage! They customize the show if you call in advance for a birthday or group. Only negative is that there is no A/C

A well kept secret of Indy. These actors(they’re known as «actletes») are HILARIOUS. They’re very talented. I would give it a 5 if tickets were a little cheaper. It can be a fun date… unless the audience is packed with obnoxious, screaming teenage girls, which happens from time-to-time. Downside: the food is not good.

I first saw ComedySportz while I was at college many years ago. They still have it though. We went here for a friend’y birthday. The place was much smaller than I thought it would be, but on a Saturday night, it was packed. I strongly recommend calling ahead to book a table, otherwise, there is slim chance that you’ll get in at the last minute. They had us cracking up the entire show and this improv show involves a lot of audience participation. The only recommendation we have is that when they play the games such as challenge and universe, the actors and ref weren’t allowing the skits to play out a little longer so there was a bit too much jumping around. Other than that, all of the skits were hilarious. T-wood, one of the actors, was hysterical. It was also nice to see that the club is celebrating it’s 20th year in business this year and they have a small handful of actors who have been there since the doors opened 20 years ago. Overall, ComedySportz is a must see in Indianapolis and is great for both tourists and locals. All shows are family friendly with the exception of the Friday night late show which is adults only. It’s nice to see that there is at least one comedy club in Indy where parents can go and enjoy themselves with an adult beverage and don’t have to find a baby sitter. We all had a great time. The bathroom situation could be a bit better, but they’re limited with the small space that they have.

Great local improv in a small theater. Like other have said eat before you go as the menu is limited. The humor is clean and there were several kids there the night we went.

Local improv at its funniest. The cast are engaging and the show moves quickly with lots of laughs. I agree with some of the four star reviews about the food. But it is local theater on a budget so I’m going to give them a pass on reviewing the food/drinks. We have dinner beforehand and just order drinks. The venue is small but that adds a bit of intimacy to the show so even those in the back can get into the fun. Lots of opportunities for free passes to try the event. The ticket I purchased was reasonably priced for an event on Mass Ave. Definitely worth giving a try if you get the chance or want to see something different on Mass.

Attended a show for Fringe Festival and was pretty impressed. The drink prices are a little higher than I’d like — $ 6 for a can of local beer and tap water is $.25. The show, however, was pretty good. I’m interested in attending a regular season show in this small venue.

Went this past weekend to ComedySportz. I’d been once before but it was years ago. Took a couple people with me and we had a great time. If you decide to take someone here for their birthday be sure to let the box office know when you make your reservation. There was one birthday boy in the audience and they made sure to include his name in sketches all night long. My only reasons for not giving 5 stars were that the bathroom was a bit on the grimy side, not bar filthy, but not as clean as I would have preferred, and the food was kind of overpriced and limited. I get that most people don’t really plan to eat here, so the selection of nachos, pretzels, and french bread pizza was unsurprising(but nevertheless disappointing) but the beer selection was really limited as well. Budweiser, Coors, Corona, and Miller products. Not really my thing. I had Rolling Rock, which isn’t terrible but with all the bars on Mass Ave you would think they would be willing to carry a better selection. They had Newcastle too, which isn’t one of my favs but I know it would have been the choice of many of my friends. C’mon ComedySportz, can you at least get on the Sun King wagon?

I love this place! Improv comedy is hard to describe. And trying to convince someone to go based on «Ya just had to be there!» stories does not work. So go. Watch some seriously intelligent funny that doesn’t make you feel gross afterwards.

I love going to this place! If you can’t laugh while enjoying this show, then there is something wrong with you! It’s full of audience participation and everyone is just wonderful. I’ve been called up on stage to participate in a skit before too. They try to call on all parts of the room and keep it lively. It’s a great place to take someone visiting from out of town or to celebrate a birthday. It can get a little toasty in the small room as there is no a/c, but if you can get past that, then you will have a great night!

I love this place! I am always entertained at Comedy Sportz. Even the early shows – which are«clean» and family-friendly – are hilarious! Who would have thought you could take clean humor and make it so darn funny, week-after-week? The late shows are adult-only, and are a blast!!! I recommend this place to all my friends and go as often as I can. You should give CSz a try! For your first time, go and see a «traditional» show – not the Improv Jam. The Improv Jams are only a couple of bucks, but are hit-and-miss. Also, eat before you go. I gave a rating of 4 out of 5 stars because the food here is not so great. They do have a menu, but it’s mostly just nachos and hot dogs. They don’t allow outside food/beverages. I did have a customer-service issue one time. However, I am very impressed with the way it was handled by the marketing director. It is clear that Comedy Sportz cares about keeping customers, and keeping them happy. Way to go! I can’t wait to go back to CSz and get my next comedy fix!

I’ve always thought that comedians that need profanity or sexual innuendos to be funny are pretty lazy. At ComedySportz, you get hilarious improv for all ages. The food is of the microwaveable variety so skip it and get a drink if you want to order something(no minimum order required!). The show itself gets 5 stars, but I’m dropping my review to 4 stars because the beginning of the show is almost unbearably cheesy — as in singing the national anthem and«Take Me Out to See Improv». Just because we’re in Indy doesn’t mean everything needs to be about sports.

I’ve been to ComedySportz a number of times now. Sometimes it’s more miss than hit, but for the most part it’s a good time. There’s been a few times where I have laughed so hard I have cried. Either way, you’ll be impressed with what these folks come up with on their feet. What I love most is that it’s audience interactive, appropriate for all ages, and it’s always different. Plus, the folks at ComedySportz recently hosted a fundraiser for 12 charities and are participating in the Humane Society’s Mutt Strut. I will gladly support businesses who give back to the community. I think their primary performances are on Thurs, Fri and Sat.

Man, I love these guys. Improv at its core here. Just people having fun with themselves. And it’s contagious. Watching people honestly enjoying themselves is hard not to enjoy. Comedy in movies will always pale in comparison to live comedy. Especially of this type, where the audience really is an active part of the show. The shows themselves are rated PG. That’s just about the only thing they’re strict about. And, if you absolutely refuse to try laughing at something that doesn’t use the word«fuck,» they have an evening show once a week that is 18+ where you can satisfy all of those urges. Obviously, the quality of the shows really depends on who is performing. Some of them are just, no offense intended, better than others. But I’ve yet to actually leave feeling disappointed. The food and drinks are, well, mostly crap. It’s reasonably priced crap, but still crap. Frozen pizzas, hot dogs, burgers; none of it is bad, it’s just not good. The fact that it’s really not overpriced is the only saving grace. You don’t go here to eat, only grab a snack if you’re feeling peckish. Oh, and when they ask for a volunteer, raise your hand. They don’t expect you to do anything challenging(generally it’s just repeating one line over and over) and you get yourself a pass to see their show again for free.
