Went in here cause my regular barbershop was closed, and I decided to just get my beard lined up and I hate it when a barber uses a machine instead of a straight razor but yet I didn’t say nothing so while he’s lining my beard, he’s doing it the way he wants to and I kept showing him a picture of how i like my beard lined(a previous pic of my beard) and he’s in a rushed to finish, so end result beard was uneven, I was displeased wit it and I went home and had to fix it myself won’t be returning to this shop ever, (P.S. even tho he did a horrible job, I still gave him a $ 10 tip for trying well atleast that’s what he looked like he was doing)

I have been getting my hair cut by John since I was about 8, I am 26 now. I have never, and I mean never, had a bad haircut here. John takes his time with every cut and while it may take a little while, it is very well worth it. I refuse to go anywhere else but Mr. Lees. John is of Korean decent so don’t expect much of a conversation but he will at least make an effort. He recently became a US Citizen as well.

This guy is good! I have always been pretty picky about my hair and I’ve had all different kinds of styles. I’ve been going to see John, the barber there, for about a year now. I’ve slightly changed my hair style a few times in that time span. I don’t think he speaks much English but I’ll show him a picture of what I want and he nails it every time and for a great price. I’ve always had a hard time finding a good barber but this guy is the best!

Don’t be confused by the name; «DW Lee’s Style & Barber Shop». This isn’t really a style shop. You won’t be getting your hair washed after you’re done. You probably won’t be getting any exotic looks with your hair, but you will get is a great traditional haircut. The shop is located at the intersection of 46th Street and Post Road and it’s well known in the community. It’s not uncommon to see current or former professional athletes, local law enforcement, fire/ems personnel, and even former or current military soldiers sitting in the seat next to you while awaiting your turn in the barber chair. The shop was formerly ran by D.W. Lee from Korea, and he was very good. Don’t think of this place like the barbershop featured in the movie titled: «Barbershop». This is nothing like it. Both Mr. Lee and his business partner John don’t speak English as well as us who are native to this country, but they do understand the hair-cutting process. Don’t expect to hear neighborhood gossip or have lengthy conversations with the barber. It probably won’t happened, but you will get a great haircut with utmost level of professionalism. Mr. Lee has since retired however his partner has continued on with the ideal haircut. John and Grace run the shop now and John is the barber. Just like during the days when Mr. Lee was there, the tradition continues. They don’t take appointments. First come first serve is the way they roll. So if you’re looking to get a fresh cut on a Friday or Saturday, allocated a few hours toward wait times. They are closed on Sundays and generally close between 6 – 7 during the week. This place gets very busy and John is extremely diligent with his cuts. As far as the haircut themselves, it’s traditional. I go with the same cut I’ve had since 1999, and have been a customer since 1990. It hasn’t changed and it probably won’t change. The best part about the haircut is the lining process. Most of the chain barbershops use clippers to line up the edging of the hair. John uses this approach as well, but lets face it. It’s just not good enough. To finalize the process, John follows up with the straight edge to make sure that the neck and facial areas are as smooth as can be. Now that’s service. The process does take a while; 20 – 25 minutes per haircut, but for a price of $ 15 including tip, it’s well worth the wait. Bring cash. I’ve never seen anyone use a credit or debit card. It’s old school and part of the overall charm at this spot.
