Ok bbq. If you want real bbq this probably isn’t the best choice. Food is ok. Great staff. Fast service

The food is AMAZING! Service left a lot to be desired. I waited for someone to give us drinks. Then someone else came for our food order. Then another person delivered our food. I am currently waiting for anyone to pay attention to us long enough to give us a check. Again, the food was so freaking good but I hesitate to dine in again with service this choppy.

I live right across the street and figured it was time I tried this place. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich and thought it was just okay. The portion was lacking and the meat wasn’t that moist. I think the only time I would say it’s worth it to come here would be for their $ 2 Tuesdays (get the same size sandwich for way cheaper).

The pulled pork and ribs were both very good. The brisket was lacking. Both of the BBQ sauces on the table were good. The only thing that was not good were the sides, the mac and cheese tastes like it came out of a box, the coleslaw wasn’t very good and they don’t serve corn or fries and have very few sides to choose from.

DON’T DO IT! This is actually a compiled review of two separate orders (both ordered via OrderUp, who have been fantastic). The first time I ordered, they were out of the brisket, but called and offered to substitute. I wanted to cancel, but the contact was appreciated and to be honest, I was hungry. The substituted rib tips were VERY disappointing, but I’m not a rib tip fan anyway.
This time, they didn’t even call. Corey, the manager, said that he «made the executive decision» to substitute without contact. But I’m skipping ahead…
So I called to find out what had happened, the first call picked up, there was a noise, and then over a minute of background noise (some laughter and conversation). Eventually I hung up and called back. This time the phone was answered promptly. When I asked for the manager, the person that answered demanded to know why… I thought it was odd, but I told him it was in regards to an order that was substituted. With that he must’ve dropped the phone again, because it was dead air.
Next I got the delight of the aforementioned «Corey». I asked for his name and his role (assistant manager, manager, night manager, king, whatever); he interrupted me with «Who am I speaking with??» I responded by finishing my sentence and then received an impromptu and erroneous lecture that informed me that I was supposed to answer the phone with my full name. Even after I indicated that I had supplied it to the person that had answered the phone originally when I had explained why I was calling, I got another 2 minutes of lecture. (no lie, two minutes). Honestly, at this point I was obviously getting no help from Corey. He hadn’t gotten to why I was calling, and we had established that customer service or even providing the product the customer pays for was not important to Corey. I indicated I would find a more productive path… Hope this helps others avoid this mistake. I’m never going back, catering for work, or eating in house.
Food was just blah. Not real bbq, but that’s hard to find in Indy.

Customer service was awesome; food was awesome; sausage sandwich was great. The portions were great. Enjoyed our visit and meal tremendously.

As an admitted fan of this establishment, I still endeavor to approach each dining experience with a fresh perspective. My latest lunch trip once again exceeded my expectations and delighted my taste buds. I went with a frequent standby, the Hoss Nachos with brisket, no sour cream, loaded up by me with jalapenos and onions. I quickly scurried back to my office to savor what my sense of smell promised would be a welcome treat.
The brisket was perfectly smoked, without much fat, and with just the right amount of burnt end bits. The remaining ingredients (chips, cheese, ranch beans, etc.) blended to create a delicious lunch, while still allowing me to appreciate the flavor and texture of the beef.
I was not disappointed, and I look forward to dining at Dick’s Bodacious Bar-​B-​Q again soon!

The coleslaw is a must taste! Portions are good. Service was great. Meals came out fast. And great location, next to $ 5 parking lot…

Went to this place before the Colts game on Sunday, and it was perfect. It’s right next to a $ 5 parking garage and they got us in and out quickly. We were seated immediately and both of us got pulled pork sandwiches. The meat was really good and BBQ sauce is served on the side.
Our service was prompt and friendly.
I got the mac and cheese, and it was pretty good. Not my favorite mac and cheese, but it still hit the spot.
Reasonably priced. Would go back.

Best slaw I ever had! Dry ribs were really good too. Worth a stop if you’re ever in Indian-​NO-​PLACE.

I love pulled and I love pulled pork here. Better than any other BBQ I’ve had in Indy. Yep. I’ve not tried them all but this pulled pork has great smoke level. They also have craft beer if I am in the mood. I recommend this little one-​off place.

We essentially ended up here on accident, but it turned out to be a happy accident. We had a good food experience, and even had leftovers to take home. I’d say we’d go back :)

I was really happy with the meal I ordered. I have to admit «Bodacious» is appropriate. I got the two meat plate (pulled pork and beef brisket my fave) with baked beans and Mac n cheese. Everything was fantastic! My only complaint is that I haven’t been before now!

It’s ok for the price. It doesn’t remind me of authentic TX bbq. Décor is ok. nothing about this place was memorable. I doubt if I’d go back. getting 3 stars because they don’t serve French fries and the wait staff could have been friendlier

I hate to do it but it was just ok… the mild sauce was good with a nice slight fruit flavor to it. Honestly there’s a lot of better options for bbq in the area

This is my new favorite place for BBQ!!! It’s been open for 10 years and I’m just now discovering it, thanks to a groupon my hubby bought. The ambiance is relaxed, the décor is unique and fun to look at. TV’s around the room and it’s a walk up and order your food type of place.
I had the rib sampler that came with rib tips and ribs, 2 sides, and a choice of bread. I had coleslaw and Mac n cheese for my sides and sweet corn muffin. My husband had the special of the day which was BBQ meatloaf with 2 sides and bread. You can choose from a small or large portion. He went with the small portion, green beans, ranch beans, and sweet corn muffin. To our surprise the mac n cheese, coleslaw, and ranch beans were beyond delicious and we ate our sides before eating the meats. That’s especially rare for my husband since he’s a carnivore lol green beans were good as well just not as good as the other sides we tried. Both the rib tips and ribs were tender and had loads of flavor, the portion size was big enough to take leftovers for lunch. Corn muffins were a delight, I don’t like corn bread and I ate all of it, it was great! I loved it and will definitely be visiting frequently. My husband had nothing but praises about his food and he’s a big meatloaf guy, so to find a place with delicious meatloaf and BBQ under one roof was like Rays of sunshine through a cloudy sky lol
The service was great, the man at the register immediately acknowledged us, asked if it was our first time there, and made suggestions when we said yes. He pointed out the lunch menu and the special of the day. The man was friendly and had conversations with everyone in there. He brought our food to our table and even went to get us condiments from the self serve counter of condiments. The place was clean, smelled delicious, and welcoming. I wasn’t sure if it was a tip type of place since it was a cafeteria type deal, but service was excellent so we tipped.
You must try this place, you won’t regret it!

*Catches breath after faintin* Since I have been here twice, I’m like a regular right? What am I kidding everyone is a regular in Dick’s Bodacious Bar-​B-​Q. You may feel like a cowboy or cowgirl walking into the ranch style dining area and immediately seeing the chin high counter. Step in line and glance at the menu – which often features specials on a daily. At DBBBQ, what you see is what you are going to get and the non frilly menu comes with all your bbq standards wings, rumps, pumps and the bumps. Just kidding. It’s customizable and features beer and wine so you can’t really go wrong there.
The one thing I am deeply sad about is the portion size. I mean, I want my eyes glazed over with bbq sauce, and I want to be in such a food coma that I can’t feel my legs (not really but you know what I mean) give me more DBBBQ!!! On second thought — do not give me big Texan size portions!!! EVER. I will be forced to take out a loan probably never leave and that would just be weird.
I like your style– I like your bathrooms — I like your sodas and lemonaide — I without a doubt enjoy your food.
If you believe in the power of meat and potatoes this is one of the better bbq places in downtown Indy. Friendly staff, and relaxed clientele– what you see is what you eat. Go on the weekends, later in the evening when it isn’t so busy. Call me before you do!

If you have ever traveled or had someone from Texas, South or North Carolina, Kansas City, MO, or practically anywhere from the South make you BBQ, you will find this place underwhelming.
What Dick’s Bodacious BBQ has going for it is its location, price, and service. Conveniently located off of Pennsylvania by the Circle, you will find Dick’s. The décor fits the theme with table clothes mimicking picnic table, complete with a necessary roll of paper towels. The service was very quick and friendly. The menu includes the traditional BBQ favorites.
Dick’s does provide a few gluten free items, just be sure to ask your server for the paper that they keep behind the counter, as it isn’t noted on the menu. The food is ok and the price is right. For under $ 15, including tax and tip, you could have a quick and filling bite to eat.
