Three stars for good refried beans and tastey shredded chicken. Do not order their relleno!

We love this place. We go here whenever we want good Mexican food. Prices are really reasonable.

I love this place. Bottomless tortilla chips and salsa, fast service, and a lot of delicious vegetarian options! The atmosphere is quite nice, too, if you like a place that FEELS local. :) The only reason I am not giving a 5-star rating, is due to inconsistency in the meals, and pricing. Sometimes they will get my order wrong, and I have to send it back. However, it’s not a huge deal because their servers and kitchen are extremely accommodating and FAST. And about the pricing– it is a tad bit expensive for what you get. ;)

My favorite Mexican place in the Indy area! Even though our favorite server is no longer there, we still enjoy the great food and awesome staff!

Oh my gawd. The good absolutely the worse. EVER in all of Indiana. The tortillas are made with sugar eww. I am completely surprised they are still in business with lousy food and higher than average for holes in wall mom and pop shops.

Not impressed. Got the fajitas and the quality and freshness was just lacking. The steak was salty as f@#k. The queso was very watery and bland. And something about the way the salsa comes out in these weird little bottles just didn’t sit right with me. Been to many other Mexican joints that were WAY better than this place.

I live very close so ive been here many times over the years. I love it here. The queso is great, the Chile relleno is delicious and the fajita quesadilla is my all time favorite!

Pretty much exactly what you would expect. The food is relatively cheap and the food arrives quickly. Would I recommend this for a date night? No way. More of a, I really need to be in and out for lunch, kind of place. No real complaints other than lack of attention for service.

Been coming to this El Puerto for at least 10 years and try other places but keep coming back simply because of the fast and polite service. If something isn’t made how you like it, simply tell the manager Sergio and he will make sure you are happy. Not rushed and rude like the other Mexican places around the south side.

Staff was friendly and that is why I give it one star. As a Mexican-American from Chicagoland area, the food is strange? I think they use pink slim for their beef dishes. If you like that then I am sorry for downing this establishment. I decided to try their steak fajitas for more money and very disappointed, they use a cheaper cut of meat like beaf stew. Fajitas should always be made with skirt steak, but not this place since they are making money by selling cheaper cut of meat for the more expensive arrachera. The next biggest problem was everything was expensive, the food they are serving should be cheaper. I will have to add that Taco Bell is much better than this place. I should have ran when I asked them for rice water and the waiter said they did not have any. I then asked for a Jarrito and they did not have any. What restuarant does not have these beverages and calls its food Mexican cuisine. Embarrasing.

I actually had a great little lunch here. I hate to say«typical Mexican restaurant», but as I’ve experienced, there’s two types of «typical»: decent food, and«crappy, one step above Taco Bell» food. Thankfully, this place was the former. The service wasn’t bad. The décor is a little dated, but that’s OK. I’m not sure I’d drive across the city to eat here, but if you’re anywhere close and in the mood for tasty, fresh, Mexican fare, you could do considerably worse.

Typical kit restaurant, same menu as LaHa, Cancun, etc. These types of places are ok in a pinch, but I prefer something more authentic. I’ve been here a couple times with my Mom before we go bowling and will probably return due to proximity. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Typical Mexican restaurant. Tends to be on the greasy side. Tastes like pretty much every other Indy-area Mexican place. Going to cost you close to $ 10 for a meal with a drink. The décor is starting to get a little dated. Generally clean and the servers are friendly. It’s fine, nothing great.

I have eaten here for years. The portion sizes have gone down over the years and the prices have slowly creeped up. Its food quality is good and the service is consistent, I just wish they could turn the clock back a few years and then I would give a 4 or 5 star rating.

Amazing pitchers a plus. But really small meal portions. Staff is always friendly and entertaining.
