You know what you’re getting into w/Extended Stay in general because it’s a chain. Reason I’m giving them one star is due to poor customer service. I was charged $ 292.50 for smoking. The only problem is that i don’t smoke. I called there 3x to discuss with the manager(Montana) and each time she said she’d have to call her district manager and she’d call me back. I’ve received zero call backs. I finally had to call my credit card and file a discrepancy. I will avoid Extended Stays from here on out.

You get what you pay for. It’s not a bad room for how inexpensive it is. Wifi was patchy. Breakfast was very limited.

This is the location on W. 86th street. I liked the room size, amenities. For the same price as a hotel room, you got twice as much or more floor space, 2 beds, sofa bed, kitchen, dining area. Didn’t have any dishes/pots, but they were available if you wanted them, just had to ask at the desk(we didn’t, since our plans changed and we didn’t stay long enough to need them). Room was clean, but evidently hadn’t always been non-smoking as there were some rather large burn marks on the carpeting. Didn’t smell like smoke though. AC worked well, shower had good pressure. Beds were firm, comfortable. ESA is a little different than some hotels though in little ways that might catch you off guard – because there’s a refrigerator with an icemaker, there’s no ice machine in the building(and our ice maker was broken). They don’t supply the usual little bottles of shampoo, lotion, but they did give us soap. Major disappointment was the«grab and go» breakfast. Very limited, muffin, granola bar, package of oatmeal, some fruit, that was it. No juice, no cereal, no mild, no hot foods. Since other low cost hotels offer much more, this might be an area to upgrade the chain in the future. Wifi was free, but there’s an ad to upgrade your speed for about $ 10 per day.
