Had to have a tenderloin sandwich on our trip to Indiana and we werent disappointed by this pub. We were staying at Ft Harrison and this place is in a strip center right at Ft Harrison. We elected to sit outdoors at tables on the sidewalk which was very nice. The menu had several items I would have liked to try, but I had to get the tenderloin. The waitress asked if I wanted it grilled or fried. Who would want a grilled tenderloin? Not me! Its not supposed to be a healthy sandwich. Its supposed to be fried and huge. And it was. The homemade chips were a distraction. They were tasteless. Nice try, but give me a bag of Lays. After we ate we went indoors to check it out and it was a hoppin place for the lunch crowd. Even had people playing pool at one of the tables. Nice place. Hopefully we will be back next year.

The sandwich is good and the prices looked reasonable. I asked for fries instead of chips and there was a $ 3 uncharged for them and they’re soggy and gross and there’s only about 20. Just not worth the extra $ 3. Other than that it was yummy.

The quesadilla, and the waitstaff including Jay behind the bar, these are the things that will keep you coming back especially after a round of golf at The Fort or dinner at Jockamo. Perfect compliment to the increasingly cool Fort Ben area.

Good service, good beer selection, and good eats. This place is like your local pub with recognizable fare and a cozy atmosphere. The kind of place you could be a regular and not feel like your going to a dive bar. It’s very clean inside and the food is great. It’s standard pub food, but it’s very tasty so done be afraid to order up. It’s not to loud and it’s really the kind if place you meet up with old friends and new and enjoy a good time socializing. I wish. Lived closer to this place as I could really see myself going on a regular basis to hang out.

So, I was sitting inside the Fort Ben Pub enjoying a nice and quiet dinner, but every few minutes I’d hear a young woman at the bar scream out the name«Richard!» I’d look around to see if someone was calling out my name, yeah it’s Richard, and rather hilariously it took me several times of this happening before I finally realized that one of her bar companions was named Richard. Located, you guessed it, on the grounds of what used to be part of Fort Benjamin Harrison, the Fort Ben Pub is in a strip center right behind CVS on the opposite end of a building that also houses a Quizno’s. There’s a wheelchair ramp on the side of the building and smack dab in the middle, though you probably don’t want to park at the one in the middle if the pub has outside diners because it tends to block sidewalk access. There’s two glass doors going inside the pub and, yes, they do offer a few tables on the sidewalk for outside dining. As you enter, you arrive in a large dining area with a beautiful bar to the right. The restaurant is decorated in warm woods with a few televisions of varying sizes and, on this evening, background music playing. Unlike my experience in some local pub settings, I was spotted very quickly when I took a seat at a four-top table and my drink order, the usual unsweetened iced tea, was taken quickly. Fort Ben Pub tends to offer what you’d mostly expect from bar & grill type setting — a variety of sandwiches ranging from the Fort Ben Burger to a tenderloin sandwich to pulled pork and more. They also have pizza, fish, and a few other options. Sandwiches come with potato chips, but you can make it fries for $ 2.25. I was impressed that the pizza option included a 7″ option that is just about right for one person, though on this occasion I opted for the tenderloin sandwich and stuck with the chips. They do offer daily drink and food specials and have both a Bingo night and a Trivia night. They also offers soups, salads, appetizers, and more. Fort Ben Pub offers space for private events/groups and does catering. I found their prices to be quite reasonable — My meal came in at just over $ 10 without the tip. Most of the sandwiches seemed to be in the $ 7 – 8 range. They have pool tables, Putt Putt live, Mega Touch, and Golden Tee and most of the sports network channels. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from Fort Ben Pub, but I was quickly very comfortable and happy. The tenderloin was hand-breaded, or so it seemed, and it had a nice and consistent thickness. The sandwich was larger, though not obnoxiously larger than the lightly toasted bun. I’m always amazed how much that«lightly toasted» bun adds to a sandwich. The chips were decent — somewhat reminiscent of Broad Ripple Chip Company. I couldn’t find anything that told me if they are handmade or local chips, but they were pretty good. The food, for me, was probably in the 4-star range. I loved the sandwich, but found it just a touch lacking in terms of flavor. I felt the same about the chips, though I had a few chips on the plate that lacked the freshness of the others. They were still very good, but not quite top of the line. The iced tea was very good and I received two refills. I am fairly close to forking over that fifth star on the strength of my server, Skyler, who was attentive and friendly throughout my meal and didn’t hesitate at all as I Iingered for a while after eating. I really appreciated that she intentionally didn’t bring me my bill until she knew I was ready for it. It sent out the message«You’re welcome here.» I wouldn’t be surprised if a return visit, and there will be one, ends up with me giving in and raising the score. However, on this visit it seemed like«very good» was the rule of the day and 4-stars feels about right. The business was just starting to pick up as I left — there was a group from National Guard dining outside, a group of younger adults at the bar, and a group of older folks dining in the main dining area not far from me. Skyler was terrific. The food was very good. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The prices were incredibly fair. With Jockamo’s opening up right in the neighborhood around the corner and Café Audrey’s reputation growing, this once quiet little area may very well be about to experience quite the growth spurt.

This place is cool, very chill and laid back, and most importantly the bathrooms are clean! Bud light pitchers are 9 bucks and the music they play is good too. Not too loud so you can have a conversation, but loud enough that you can get a good head bop on to those lull moments. Star of the show today is Jay the bartender. He is awesome, great personality and super friendly. Since it is illegal here on Sundays for the sale of booze, it’s a great spot to come and eat and have a drink, play some pool. IFTHEOWNERSREADTHISBRINGBACKDARTS! STEELTIPSPLEASELOL! I’m officially a fan! And they just opened a pizza joint on Otis just a few yards down the way called Jockamo… Jay said it’s not New York style pizza, it’s not chicago style — it’s INDY style. I can’t wait to find out what Indy is on a pizza lol! 5 stars for the spot and 10 for Jay. Yall come on down!

First time visiting this establishment… décor was nice sports bar, food basic pub fair, fair assortment of beers. Seemed popular with locals. Felt sorry for the one and only waitress on duty… ran her legs off, but still managed to be friendly, helpful and attentive! I had the fish sandwich, chips and cold slaw… it was nice portions and tasty. No complains.

Stopped in for lunch. This was my first visit. The place is bright and clean and very welcoming. It was very busy for lunch which makes my decision to stop here a good one since the locals must like this place. The menu has the basic pub offerings and they have a full bar. I’ll come here again.
