The atmosphere and singers were really good, the bartender/manager, a whole differant story. I ordered a draft beer, after a few sips I realized the glass was cracked, I asked for a new beer in a differant glass, specifically saying don’t dump this one into a new glass, it will go flat and not be good. What happened, my beer dumped into a new glass, the reason, they can’t waste beer, the direction of the manager, really, no wonder the place is half full on a Saturday night.

Went recently, had never been before and didn’t know what to expect. I actually had a really great time here. It was a lot of fun to dance to the live music with my friends and get wasted. The drinks are pretty good and reasonably priced. There is a cover charge some nights, I think it was like 5 dollars. It’s a good time though.(There was a pretty good crowd the Saturday I went, everyone was having a good time). There is also a patio with seating thats pretty nice to escape the bar for a minute or have a cigarette.

Went in on a Friday night for someones party and got to skip the $ 10 cover, which was a plus. The environment of the bar was lively and enjoyable. However I was overall I was very disappointed with the place. Since we were with a party, we were told that we would receive bones(tall glasses) on special for $ 8, which would have been a great deal and so I decided to get a sex on the moon in one of them from the bar. The service was pretty quick for how busy they were, but when the bill came, I was surprised to find that it was for $ 15 because only the Long Island Iced Tea bone was for $ 8, which we were not informed about. The drink itself was average and pretty much just Sex on the Beach renamed. Later at our table the server came around to get drink orders from the 5 of us that were not dancing, two of us ordered drinks, and I asked for a water. The drinks came a short while later, but the water never showed up. i even tried to get the server’s attention but he seemed to be actively ignoring me. I was also annoyed by how many time marlboro representatives came to our table to survey us about if we smoked.

The staff at howl claim the wells whiskey is X amount. They kicked me out because the actual«wells» was 6 a price. Got kicked out for telling my friends the actual price was 3… Go here all the time and I’m telling you this place is like Aushwitrz. That’s it.

Love going on Thursdays for dollar beer night. Perfect for college students and love the dueling pianos. Some of the best live entertainment in Indy in my opinion

Sign up for a free party, you’re sure to win. I’ve won 3 already, which are super fun and a great reason to get a whole bunch of people together for a fun night. When you win it’s for«you and 100 friends». I don’t know about you, but I don’t know 100 people in this area, so a great thing to do is to post the party on and let people new in town check out the venue using your name. I have been to a few nights of dueling pianos, and one cool event on Georgia Street where they raced turtles. It was college night and beer was $ 1. They had liquor specials for four or eight dollars. Having won the party, I received two free drink coupons, free food, stickers and a beer cozy. All my friends got free food too!

This place is great! Morgan waited on us all night and was fantastic… without even asking she gave my friend who had way too much to drink a water. We had a great time!

By far the worst Howl at the Moon I’ve ever been to. Typically when you go to an establishment like this you see talented singers mixed with a touch of comedy(a total package). This particular Howl at the Moon was anything but… The group of 5 of us who are all from out of town and have been to other Howl at the Moon establishments previously all agreed that this was the worst one yet… I typically do not give bad Unilocal reviews everrrrrrr but I feel like something needs to change bc we cannot be the only ones who have thought this! All I can think of to describe this experience is this… A group of 20 something’s that want to be in a band but can’t figure out how to do it so they just sit up on the stage with little to zero personalities and just play music…

Was there a bit to early perhaps around 20. But the band was playing and creating a good vibe. Was definately cool to watch the band. All could sing and played several instruments. Got full at last with various parties. Seems like a big place for bachelorette parties. On the down side it is a 10 $ cover to get in and the drinks are more pricey then just down the street. All in all a good experience.

I have a blast every time I go(three times in the last two years). The buckets are fun to share with a few friends, and the love band is AWESOME. Not only are they talented musicians, but they can whip out just about any song you request. Getting a free party there is pretty easy. It means you and your 49 friends get free admission and some discounted drinks; friends that otherwise wouldn’t be out and buying drinks. The 24oz bones are great. The dance floor is always hopping. Howl at the Moon is a place for making memories, strengthening friendships, becoming friends with strangers, and having an overall f-ing fun time! (You’re the best, Mackenzie Hines!) The old crowd is part of the fun!

I don’t go out. Like ever. I might as well be an 80 year old woman. But, a girlfriend is getting married so we made bachelorette party reservations here. It was pretty easy to find, embarrassingly enough I’ve never been down on Georgia Street. We got in immediately, even though it was 9pm on a Saturday. The party package included reserved seats for all seven of us, next to the stage which was great. Our waitress was fabulous, I wish I could remember her name, but she was excellent, very attentive and understanding when the bride was obviously toasted. Normally I get bored with bars, but this was a blast. The piano people or whatever they like to be called played great up to date music as well as classics everyone knows. There were quite a few bridal parties there, they called all of the brides up at one point which was fun. All in all, we stumbled out carrying they bride but we had a great time. Definitely recommended for parties and groups!

Bleh… The good: location is great. Right in the middle of everything. The setup is good, with a low stage and large dance floor. The bad and ugly: Veeeery old crowd… live band was average. Good song choices, but not well performed… Bar service was slow and bouncers were not really working. Definitely not worth the cover… Even if they would reduce it to $ 1!

I pretty much love everything about this place. Before about 9, the music is lower and there’s more seating to hang out. After 9, they clear about half the tables to make room on the dance floor. Drink prices are kind of high, but that’s the only thing I don’t love. Every other aspect of this place is great. The bartenders and staff are super friendly. I’m always amazed that the bartenders can manage such a large bar. There are the typical people who get a drink and then stand there, so when it’s packed, you have to put your big girl panties on and say excuse me to get to the booze. The entertainers are absolutely amazing. I love watching all the different instruments they play. Even one of those neck strap keyboards from the eighties. The clientele is a good mix too. Great for people watching and I don’t have to constantly stiff arm douchey guys that want to «dance» with me, which usually just means rubbing their junk on my leg.

Terrible service. Trashy crowd. The crowd was very racist and rude. I should have figured as I stepped in and a city cop was standing inside. Would not recommend to any decent person.

Came on a Friday night around 10pm, which was probably my first mistake. The cover and coat check fees were more than I’ve probably paid anywhere else, but considering the location and timing it wasn’t insane. The drink prices were insanely high, however, even compared to the Kilroys across the street. We also had to wait over 15 minutes in line at the bar to order drinks as they appeared to only have 2 or 3 actual bartenders. The live music was good but very«processed»; there was almost zero crowd interaction. They might as well have just had a DJ. Overall I will not be going back. There are plenty of bars in Indy with better drinks, cheaper drinks, and a better atmosphere.

Meh. I was excited about the premise of the dueling piano bar, but the food and drinks make me feel like I’m at a frat party in college or on spring break. All of the drinks are sickly sweat or watered down beer. Most of the clientele are of the douchey guys and woo-girls ilk, which may be a plus in your book. The gimmick is fun, but the rest of the place is kinda shitty. Note that there is a $ 10 cover.

I’m not a big fan of the show Glee, but I have a lot of friends who are. This would be a great place for them to have a fun night out. It’s not really my jam — too loud and sing-along-y to have a conversation, so you definitely have to be up for the show if you go to Howl at the Moon, and I just never really am. Still, I can’t knock the place for what it’s intended to be. The«dueling» piano performers are extremely talented and are a ton of fun. They definitely know how to get a crowd involved. I can, however, knock a place for food, drinks, and service, and they’re all pretty solidly meh. The food is more or less the bare minimum needed in order to absorb alcohol — various fried edibles plus pizza — and the drinks appear to be designed for inhaling. As a result, you get a pretty raucous, inebriated younger crowd that sometimes drowns out the music itself, and to have a good time you usually need to reach their same level of drunkenness. The service is friendly, but I’ve always found it a bit slow. My recommendations:(1) go early and leave early, before the place gets silly,(2) reserve the place for birthdays and bachelorette parties, or(3) get really drunk. None of these are really my bag, but if they’re yours, check out Howl at the Moon.

Came here on a Wednesday night with my work family before leaving Indianapolis the next morning. Overall, we all had a wonderful time at Howl at the Moon. Live band that plays all kinds of music & a dance floor. If dancing is not your thing, you can always people watch :) it’s highly entertaining. Some of the highlights for us: –jello shots in syringes –test tube shots –the band was amazing! everyone’s so talented & very entertaining; they played most of the songs we requested –great service I’m not sure about parking since we walked here from our hotel. Closed on Sun-Mon. Open until 2AM Tues — Wed, 3AM Thurs — Sat.

-$ 10 cover– college night Thursdays: free entry –once you’ve been a couple times you can almost guess which song will be played next. However, seeing that this is a rare, last stop off the night scenario, it doesn’t matter so much –whatever you do, don’t get sucked in to the college team song contest — complete slippery slope when drinking… even if you’re not the most enthusiastic fan –fair stash of douchey fellas(and gals) but depending on how you look at it this is great for people watching. –put your patient pants on, it can take eons to get a drink in here
