fun, relaxed bar reminds me of neighborhood bars in smaller towns. mostly locals that know one another & the bartenders/servers. though many will turn their head and take a look when you walk in, the place is welcoming to outsiders. great beer prices! LJs is a little dated, but who cares. metal door entrance with windows on each side, compulsory neon beer signs in the windows. few high top tables to the left & right when you walk, bar is a few steps in. to the left are 5 – 6 dart boards, large screen tvs and several lower eating tables. ceiling is covered with nascar hoods to remind you where you’re at. bar itself is a laminated wood top with classic wood rail. bar face is an awesome fake brick. brass rail for a foot rest. bar back contains a hell of a lot of bottles on stepped shelves with a tv in the center. tvs normally tuned to sports. a little ways from downtown but worth the trip if close.
Oh, LJ’s. How that neon sign beckons me to «stop in and enjoy a cold beverage» whenever I drive by of an evening. The drinks are cheap & strong, the jukebox is A-Ok, the karaōke is entertaining, the atmosphere is enticingly tacky, the owner never remembers me, and Debby the bartender, who always remembers me, is engagingly witty & funny and always smiling.
