Lulu’s is a go-to spot any time I’m on the north side of the city. That’s not often, but it always makes traversing the morasse that 86th street can be a joy, because Lulu’s has great coffee, great tea, and a great space. They have one of the best spice chais in town, especially because they don’t worry about mixing the latte in. It’s not too sweet, with all of the spicy goodness you’d want in a more straightforward chai. Their coffee is also quite good. One of my favorite things about Lulu’s is their tiny fireplace nook — it’s a space heater electric fireplace with a few couches around it, but it’s a great little cranny to hang out in, while still leaving the normal coffee shop high tables and low squares. They also sell a good amount of merchandise, from a selection of whole bean coffee to pots and teas.

Delicious and cheap breakfast sandwiches(even on gluten free bread)! By far the best almond milk lattes in Indy. Great ambiance to boot!

Visiting Indiana and really wanted a fancy cappuccino! The employee there surprised us with a cat and heart on ours and it made us so happy along with the delicious scones!

The go to coffee shops for me are usually the downtown ones or the one here in Speedway. I’d like to say this may be one of my new favorite places if I’m heading to the Northside. Met up with a fellow foodie from Indy and had a very unique cup of joe! My mapquest threw me off trying to get there — just know it is back in a strip mall! It’s directly behind the MCL on 86th street. First thing I saw was their outdoor seating. I see outdoor seating in spring/summer/fall as an added bonus for places here in Indy! Plenty of seating to accompany all the morning coffee dates! Inside is warm and inviting. No complaints with the atmosphere! I went only for coffee and got the Venetian Iced Coffee. It was so good and so sweet! It was my dessert for the day — I would recommend this drink to a non coffee drinker any day. I am a black coffee drinker, but I love sweets so the drink was perfect! Those strong coffee drinkers that think adding cream is sweet — do not get this! Food, I did not get any but it all looked amazing! PLUS they have a GLUTENFREEMENU! Yes, any gluten free friends know that struggle of morning coffee dates don’t usually consist of a snack for you too. Not here, they have a variety of options!

This is a great coffee house with a variety of drinks and desserts. It was a bit overwhelming at first but I went with the cashiers advice to order a mango green tea with a cranberry scone. My fiancé ordered an Americano, chocolate scone, and breakfast sandwich. All very delicious! I will be back to try more drinks!

I was looking for a local coffee business to grab a morning pick me up with my wife and saw the reviews for lulus. We both tried the Muddy Irishman and grabbed a chocolate chip cookie and a toffee cookie. The service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was classy but not stuffy. The prices are comparable to Starbucks and the flavored are just a little better. I’d definitely recommend and come again

I have been here twice. The first time it was really good. The second time it was mediocre. I am going to chalk the second time as a fluke. I will definitely go back a third time. UPDATE: Went back a third time. Second time was definitely a fluke. Great place to get your coffee

I’m not fond of the coffee flavoring(syrups) but the Chai tea is very tasty(a little on the sweet side). The home baked goods are tasty. It is also refreshing to have gluten-free options.

I was on 86th for an early chiropractor appointment and needed a coffee shop to go study at afterwards. I found Lulu’s on Unilocal and it was the closest place that wasn’t a Starbucks so I thought I’d check it out. I’m so happy that I did! I walked in and right away saw the cool display of specialty sodas. There is quite a bit of seating and they also have free wifi! It was the perfect little spot to study. I sat by the wall and they have plenty of outlets, so that was really nice. I ordered the Big Train Chai(spiced and with vanilla) which was pretty good. They have a lot of food options. I went with something pretty simple, an everything bagel with whipped cream cheese. If I’m able to venture back this way I think I’ll try something more unique. They do have a lot of gluten-free options too!

Absolutely love their cinnamon scone. It is chewy in consistency and packed with amazing flavors. Their orange and toffee scones are likewise to crave for. Tried their egg salad plate and it makes a delicious lunch.

Indy lacks many good things, but a solid Coffee and Bake Shop is no longer one of them. My Aeropress Jamaican light roast was timed to perfection, and the Guadalupe Pour-Over was rich, yet still oh so smooth. I came in an hour before close and the scones baked that very morning tasted as fresh as a first in the door batch. If you want a solid cup of coffee and some good baked goods(scones, muffins, cookies, pie, etc), then give them a try.

Staff was very friendly! I got the Montana Gold tea, it has a lot of flavor and some spice at the end. A great way to warm up on a cold day! The shop it’s self was very cute, limited seating inside and out. I was not able to try any treats but they all looked amazing! You should totally go!

Not impressed really was a mistake to give this place even 4 stars food is blan and the coffee tastes as if it’s been in a mix of bean with no artistic flare to the cappuccino Price is not bad

Hazelnut coffee is great. Employees are friendly. Chocolate chip scones are to die for. Free wifi(just ask for a code), great atmosphere, locally owned, fairly priced. I love lulus ! Sometimes I’ll be in close to closing and they are offering pastries and things for a discount. Always say yes to that!

5 star scones, 4.5 star espresso/coffee. Excellent quiche and many other options. In other words, a fantastic coffee shop that can satisfy & impress everyone. Scones here are moist and not overly dense like others you might have had elsewhere. Cinnamon chip scone is mind blowing, even for those like me who don’t love cinnamon. Lemon blueberry scone is amazing as well, chocolate chip scone is the favorite of my 3 year old. Get them warmed up! Perhaps equally as great as the food and drink is that it is open on Sundays, which is apparently the most hated day of all Indy coffee shop entrepreneurs. And also, the most likely day for me to take my family out for breakfast. Thank you to Lulu’s for recognizing the value of Sunday hours.

If you are looking for an amazing mocha, this is your place. The dark chocolate mocha was incredible. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Also had lunch, grill d cheese, turkey cheddar panini. They were both ok, nothing great but not bad either. The coffee and baked goods are what you want to go for.

I happened to come across this hidden gem after shopping at Fresh Thyme. I’m so glad I found this place. Pros: –Delicious dark chocolate iced mocha –Delicious scones –Wonderful customer service(the 2 ladies that I spoke with were extremely welcoming and seemed very happy to be there.) –Plenty of tables and chairs –Cheaper than Starbucks(I bought a large iced mocha and 2 scones for $ 6 and some change.) –2 for 1 on select items after 2 pm –Great selection of food items and coffee Cons: –I cannot think of one thing! Although, next time I go, I will have to see if they have a changing table in their restroom. Hopefully they do, and I won’t have to add a con!!! I will be a repeat customer for sure!

Went here for the first time today after finding it on Unilocal(!!!) and loved it! Friendly staff. Fast service. And great food. I have the cranberry walnut salad with chicken and it was delicious. The raspberry vinaigrette was an awesome addition. They also have tons of tea options. I will be coming back!

Can you say fantastic experience?! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and just begs you to take off your coat, stay awhile and sip on a warm beverage, which is exactly what I did. The display case was filled with sweet delectables, such as pies, cakes, cookies and various bars. Additionally, quiche, sandwiches, salads, and various plates are available for a satisfying breakfast, brunch, or lunch. In addition to their espresso and chai drinks, they also had a nice selection of specialty and handcrafted pops from which one could choose. The prices are definitely affordable. I ordered a tall Muddy Irishman, which is espresso, steamed milk, chocolate, caramel and Irish cream. OMG, it was AMAZING! It was full of flavor, nothing bland or watered down about it. I then settled down at the bar to enjoy this warm and delightful treasure. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and I noticed that if a regular came in he or she was asked if they wanted the usual. On my way out, I decided to purchase two specialty pops, a red velvet cookie, and a slice of apple cinnamon cake to take home to the fam. While I was sitting down, I noticed that a code was needed for their free Wifi. I asked about this shortly before I left and was told that you must ask a staff member for an access code, which stays in effect for two hours. Also, she stated that all one has to do is ask for an extension at the end of that time and they will gladly grant it. I will definitely be back!

Stop # 4 of the Caffeine Crawl, 2014 — located on W 86th near Nora… and a Planet Fitness gym. Coincidence? After sampling the scones, I think not. Kyle — the head baker — was our host at this stop. He brilliantly illustrated how to use the AeroPress in different ways to make tasty coffee on the go. His knowledge and down-to-earth style was comforting and the coffee and scones were absolutely delish. We were also taught how to make a Toddy concentrate and all kinds of good stuff! Fun! We wish we had more time today to get some food at Lulu’s as we were stalking the most amazing egg salad sandwich at the table next to us. We hear that they make the egg salad and chicken salad in house along with some other tempting goodies. We WILL return to try them all! Hands down, Lulu’s was one of our favorite parts of the crawl today. It made us a little sad that we no longer live on ‘that side’ of town, but will totally make the trip up to Lulu’s time and again… if even for those scones. WOWSA. Thank you for an amazing experience, Kyle! See ya soon!

I’ve been here six times so it’s time for a review! This has become my mid-afternoon cappuccino break stop. They make a perfect cappuccino. Also if I need a little treat they have cookies, cake pops and pie. I’ve also had lunch here, good wraps and sandwiches. This place is busier now that there’s a new market in the same strip mall. I’m glad, it should be here a while then. Comfortable seating and very friendly people.

Oh, Lulu’s, you are a charmer. As soon as I walk in, you have acoustic Ed Sheeran playing on the radio and a very friendly barista offering me a(buy one, get one free) scone. The lighting is a little dim, but maybe you’re just setting the mood? The scone makes me smile. The wifi is fast. A few more acoustic songs later(seriously… Bastille? John Mayer? be still my heart), I’m planning my next visit. You even made me cave for a pumpkin white mocha in September. Well done, Lulu’s. Well done.

Within 30 seconds of walking in the door, I was kicking myself for not trying Lulu’s sooner. It had such a comfortable vibe! From the staff to the patrons to the décor, it all just works. I felt like there should be a big orange couch with 6 friends having coffee in the corner. The staff was pleasant and genuine. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with an American cappuccino. I immediately realized my mistake. Why didn’t I order a baked good? The counter was lined with individually wrapped snackable delights and yet I opened my mouth to order eggs? It’s a BAKEhouse. A sandwich? Really? Really. I will be back in short order to try one of the enticing baked items, for sure. The sandwich, however, wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t exceptional. The coffee stole the show. The coffee was exactly what I needed and wanted. I could have had six more. It was the perfect quality and quantity. I can’t wait to go back and try their traditional Italian cappuccino. The only tiny downside to my experience was I had a bit of a wait for the coffee. I had my sandwich well in advance of my beverage. I probably won’t be stopping by Lulu’s often during the morning during the work week, but I’ll definitely be making excuses to go enjoy Lulu’s goodies when I’m not in a rush. Lulu’s, this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Lulu’s is always a stop when on the north side. Lulu’s has really good coffee. I always order the Traditional Italian Cappuccino and it never disappoints. They also stock several whole bean varieties which you can take home. In addition to the coffee, there is always a slew of homemade baked goods from brownies to cookies to quiche. They also have a few sandwiches and wraps on the menu. I have been to Lulu’s several times and have always had good service. I recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
