I had qualms about only giving a three star review… perhaps I just experienced a momentary lapse in good product, as many aspects. The reason? I go to a coffee place for hot lovely coffee. It’s self-serve(three varieties!) so I filled up my cup and walked outside. A minute later I accidentally spilled some on myself. I prepared to recoil, but ’twas not necessary! The coffee was somewhere between colder than lukewarm and cold. I had no time to return, so unfortunately I was stuck with blah cold coffee. That said, the atmosphere is very hipster and artistic. It looks cozy and like a good place to hang out. Large menu, including fancy coffee and smoothies plus sandwiches and muffins and cookies. Typically I’d like this place. But the cold coffee combined with a multitude of coffee options in this city = nah, I’m good. Hopefully your visit goes better!

Monon Coffee is solid, but not quite a home run for me. First tip: if you don’t want to pay for metered street parking in front, check out the lot to the side near the sno cone stand. It says reserved, but it is free for customers of those businesses(including MCC) from 5am — 5pm. Beware: apparently a tow truck shows up at 5:01pm sharp. Ouch. However, I would likely only be visiting in the morning or early afternoon, so this wouldn’t be a problem. I like the vibe inside with a mish mash of comfy chairs, couches, and tables. Another tip: there are three small tables in the back by the bathrooms. P. S. that bathroom is so outdated and janky it’s not even funny(read: the sink was completely covered up… so no one could wash their hands.) I was pleasantly surprised by the pastry selection(Four Birds wahoo!) and smoothie menu. I don’t like coffee so I typically get a hot tea at coffee shops. They had a fairly extensive smoothie lineup — I got the house smoothie(strawberries + banana #basic) in the 12 oz. size for $ 3.95. Fresh and delicious! That’s cheaper than other smoothies around town. Wi-fi was a little spotty but for the most part worked well.

Monon coffee company is another cute little coffee shop right in the heart of broad ripple. One big tip – FREEPARKING in the back! I remembered once I had already paid for parking so I thought I would remind/tell everyone. The baristas were super nice and gave an amazing suggestion – the Mona Lisa. It was espresso with milk and honey. If you like honey you need to try it! You still taste the espresso but it’s sweet too. They had a large selection of teas and smoothies(I had a smoothie there once and it was really good-can’t remember the name now) There isn’t much seating there at all. When we walked in all the tables were gone but this man gave us his because he saw we had our laptops with us-so nice of him! He was a local guy, the staff knew him. So big S/O to him for being so nice. They had a lot of treats and snacks to choose from as well, I didn’t get any but they looked good! I would recommend this place for a «grab and go coffee» rather than a «stay and work on stuff» place. If you are lucky enough to get a table, take advantage! Totally worth the trip, please please please remember to TIP. We’re all in this together. Share the love.

My friend and I are coffee house enthusiasts, especially when it comes to studying off campus. We’ll search high and low for a coffee house with a quiet atmosphere, room to work, and of course quality(caffeinated) drinks. We decided to check this place out after hearing people continuously rave about how good the coffee was. Now I wasn’t not sure if I believe in love at first sight but when I walked through the doors into the coffee house’s trendy setup, I swear I fell in love. The chill atmosphere was perfect for a homework session or even a coffee date; the pricing was beyond affordable; and man their White Hot Chocolate is DABOMB!!!

Love this place. It has a great, warm atmosphere, excellent coffee, and good pastries. Can’t say much more except go there now.

This place has changed a lot and not for the better. It is funky and very dirty with disinterested people working there. Too bad because it used to be a nice place.

Nothing to brag about. Came here to get some work done. It definitely needs some updating on the bathroom… But the chai was decent and the people were nice. They have comfy chairs/couches up front and tables in the back that are quieter. I doubt I’ll come back but that’s because I don’t live in Broad Ripple and don’t frequent coffee shops that often.

The Monon is very supportive of local artists like me. William gave me a shelf 6 years ago which helped launch my custom pet portrait business! Their lattes are superior in craft and taste to the chain coffee shop around the corner, and their baked goods are made by the best bakery in town. Comfy, cozy & artsy atmosphere. .what’s not to love?

Whether you’re in the mood for tea, coffee, or just a place to sit and relax, Monon Coffee Company is the place to be. I love visiting more local coffee shops over large chains and this one did it for me! I immediately fell in love with the quaint and calming environment. I didn’t feel rushed when I stayed to do my homework(the free Wifi was also a plus for a college student like myself). The dim lighting and comfy couches also added to the relaxing vibe. The staff were extremely pleasant and personable, too. When I asked what kinds of tea they offered, the barista allowed me to smell the different flavors to help me decide. The prices were very reasonable and the barista even brought my tea to the table for me when it was ready. Monon Coffee Co also makes customers aware that they are Fair Trade certified which is always a positive thing to see/know. And most importantly, they offer a plethora of baked goods from muffins to pumpkin bread(YUM!) to gluten free/vegan goodies. It’s located in the heart of Broad Ripple and parking was relatively easy to find. Monon Coffee Company won me over and I will definitely visit again in the future.

Monon Coffee Company wins for great espresso drinks in a quirky space. They have a great local coffee shop vibe without an ounce of pretension. The staff is always incredibly friendly and polite, and know how to make a solid café americano. The baked goods, while somewhat limited in variety, are excellent — the banana bread is a winner for me. I do wish they have more seating area — it’s hard to find a spot to sit comfortably for a long time when it’s busy.

Excellent coffee & quite a variety of breakfast treats that are full of good-for-you ingredients like whole grains, nuts, & fruit. Also a selection of prewrapped sandwiches. Love the fact they have 4 – 5 varieties of coffee; you self serve, you choose! Art on the walls, local pottery on the shelves, comfy chairs, books to read, chalkboard menu, locals chit chatting. Yes, another good reason to avoid chain coffee houses & choose an Indy original.

Holy baked good choices! I love supporting local coffee shops and Monon Coffee Company is worthy of my support. Good location, ample parking in the lot to the right of the building and a nice staff. I really like their iced coffee and anytime a coffee place has pumpkin breads/muffins/carbs for sale, I’m a happy camper. In the front of the store, there is definitely a lack of seating but many forget about the collection of tables in the back. Not as comfortable as the couches but a good, more private place to have a meeting or catch up with a friend.

I liked it much. My wife and I went coffee free for a few weeks. Now we are back! But, now we are a bit more picky about the flavor of the coffee as well. We both had the Choo Choo coffee — loved it! The baked goods all look great. We tried the pumpkin bread — it was moist and very flavorful. There is free wifi — ask for the password. I tried it out and the speed was good at 8:00 on a Saturday morning. Refills are $ 0.50 and on the honor system — there is a cup next to where you get the coffee. The only issue we had was the Choo Choo must had been brewed earlier. While the flavor was still great, it was lacking a bit of heat. My wife likes cream in her coffee and with the cream, it was too cool. Not too cool to drink, just now as hot as a cup of joe should be. I will be back though! PS — if you are drinking espresso or getting coffee beans, there is a punch card available to get a freebie after buying so many. PSS — there is free parking in the back

Me and the fam stopped in on the morning Daylight Savings time started as I had forgotten to set the clocks back and we were an hour early for a lunch date in BRipple. OOPS! I was pleasantly surprised to find a TON of ‘healthy’ and gluten free baked good options aside from the huge drink menu on the chalk boards behind the counter. I opted for a slice of pumpkin bread to share with the Bird and just a drip coffee — serve yourself style from pump carafes on the side of the coffee bar. I enjoyed my house brew and the Bird and hubs liked theirs as well(Ethiopian perhaps?). Refills are on an honor system by the pumps as well. Overall, bread and coffee were tasty, people friendly, atmosphere was laid back. Only docked a star as comfy seating was super limited and the bathroom was pretty atrocious — a one seater unisex that was borderline Trainspotting for me. All that said, we will return in the future — early so we can snag a spot on the couch.

Yum!!! I love the green tea chai with honey. Great selection including tons of organic tea, great ambiance, and comfy couches. The masala chai is delicious — pretty much all the chais are yummy.

Not impressed. While the location is good, the actual coffee shop leaves so much to be desired. When I walked in, I immediately noticed the shabby interior and very limited seating. The color of the walls are this ugly faded blue-green color that definitely need a paint job. As far as the furniture, its a few round tables with uncomfortable chairs. While there is a large front window, it is not functionally utilized and there are no tables next to it. They need to get rid of the couches and sofa chairs and put in some sturdy square wooden tables and chairs.(Update: Saw a few square wooden tables in back, but still with uncomfortable metal chairs.) I ordered the Blackberry Zombie Mocha which was OK – nothing too noteworthy beyond the interesting name. The people watching here is also rather abysmal. I’m sitting next to these irritating salespeople having a business meeting that is creating a lot of noise pollution next to my table. I don’t plan on coming back.

What a great little shop in Broad Ripple. Do yourself a favor and skip the Starbucks down the street and head in to MCC next time you’re in need of a caffeine fix. I’ve stopped by several times, and have always ordered something non-coffee. I’m not much of a coffee fan, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t tons of options for you here. I’ve had smoothies, italian sodas(peach! highly recommend!) and hot chocolate from here. Prices are very fair. The atmosphere is very casual and inviting. You’re lucky to score a seat here on a busy weekend, but that’s fine because you can sip your beverage while perusing the local shops in the area. You won’t want to pass up this gem in the heart of Broad Ripple!
