I have to say this is some darn good pizza, I can’t speak for anything else because I’m hooked, as well as my friends! I want to say maximum serving for me is two slices and that’s pushing it. I know that I would definitely recommend this pizza joint to my friends and family.

I had heard from several friends that the pizza here was legendary. Needing a night out of the house, I took my family of five here for dinner. When we walked in on a Saturday night, the place was absolutely packed to the gills. I wasn’t sure where to stand to wait for a table, so two open tables were snagged by other families before I could get us sat down. We did manage to find a table fairly quickly after that; and there were only a few others waiting for a table while we were eating. Despite the crush of business that night, the wait staff was very friendly and attentive, keeping an upbeat and fun attitude. I definitely can agree with other reviewers that the service here is very good. The atmosphere is like a bar, I would say — packed in wooden tables, floors and chairs, with a few booths seating 4 tucked in on the sides. Waitresses have to maneuver deftly between the crowded room to bring your drinks and food. The noise level wasn’t too loud, though. We ordered breadsticks as an appetizer and they were good. I ordered the kids a small pizza with cheese and black olives and then went for the meat lovers’ pizza for myself and the wife. It lived up to the legend in being about 2″ thick with slices of bacon and hunks of ham as well as the normal sausage and pepperoni. I ordered the largest size and was eating leftovers for the rest of the week. I could only eat two pieces at dinner. I would say the pizza was good — nothing gourmet or specifically unique other than the heaping amount of toppings. I didn’t taste much in the way of herbs or spices or garlic. The crust was average, thin and kind of crisp; reminded me of Chuck E Cheese’ pizza. The ingredients were fresh and the pizza was served piping hot. The drink and beer list is huge, if you’re in the mood for a beer with your pizza. I would come back sometime with family, but would try to come earlier in the evening so the kids aren’t starving.

The pizza is about as good as it gets for a thin crust pie. Heavy toppings and cheese. Off the beaten path for almost everyone but locals.

Still up there with the best pizza I’ve ever had! A staple of my youth, I returned to New Bethel Ordinary for the first time in more than a decade and was delighted to find that the pizza was everything I remembered it to be. Service is great, very nice beer list, and kid-friendly. My family and I have gone twice this month and plan to return often!

We bought their pizza after moving and upon recommendations from a few friends. We tried their meat lovers pizza(the 16″ version) along with a side order of breadsticks for carryout. We were expecting a normal sized pan pizza, but when we got home it was closer to deep dish, which we both loved. The pizza was seasoned well and the meats were good. The breadsticks were of a large size(again, something we liked) and had a cheese dip for the sauce. This order was placed on a Monday night, which was good for us as they have discounted prices for pizzas on Monday nights. We enjoyed both the pizza and breadsticks and will be back again to try more of their menu.

Probably my favorite pizza from anywhere! So thick even I can only eat 2 or 3 slices of a large deluxe pizza. So So yummy and filling! We also had the hot wings which were good, but not as hot as I prefer them, so wings are average, but pizza is awesome. They even ship their pizza’s in a frozen box out of state. This is a small hole in the wall older style building and location in small south east Indy area of Wanamaker. Once you have this super thick, multi layer pizza, you will not be happy with any other pizza, ha. Service was nice and friendly, on time, and prices are average as expected. Overall great place, and they offer a full bar area too.

We recently ate lunch at this local establishment. We used to go a lot but we will never come here again. It is ashame that the owners have let this place become a, shit hole. We watched the kitchen help take, a drink out of his cup then dip into the ice machine. The same ice machine they got my ice for my drink. We told the waitress but she did not seem to care or understand what the issue was. I understand that we all work for a living and some of us do not have a lot of money but every worker in there looks like they just woke up and slept in their clothes. It just looks dirty and the inspections are not well. I am really surprised that it has not been shut down yet. I still really like the food but I have to say it made me me a little nervous to eat there and I will not go back.

You lookin for a pizza that’ll have your stomach begging for more? Well, you’ve arrived at just the place. Now, NBO is no where near myself, my parents… or really anyone in my family, BUT it is all we ever order when we all get together and are just looking for some pipin’ hot ‘za. Now, I’m not a huge meat pizza fan, but let me tell you, their meat lovers is absolutely deeeelish. Give it a go… even if it’s not normally what you eat, I promise, you will not be dismayed! This little local stop in is just that, little and local, and the staff are super friendly and always greet you with a smile or answer the phone with a cheerful tone! I just had this while setting up the Christmas tree, and it made my Christmas cheer that much brighter!

We ended up after a wrong turn but our driver told me some of the colorful history of this place. They made ours so we could cook it at home since we wasn’t sure what time we’d be home. They have carry out as well. Delivery I didn’t ask about. It passed the in the middle of the night Cold out of the fridge taste test as well. Great hot or cold. Great staff

I hadn’t been to the Ordinary in years when my daughter started working there as a server. She asked us to come in last night and I’m glad we did. I knew the pizza was amazing, but that’s all I’d ever had. Tonight along with our pizza, we ordered a sampler appetizer platter(deep fried goodness, not too greasy), some breadsticks and pretzel bites with beer cheese(I could’ve eaten only that and would’ve been happy). For dessert we shared the brownie and ice cream dish which was amazing. Hopefully, my daughter will be working there for awhile so we’ll have another reason to make the trek across town. It was worth the trip.

It’s not often I come home to Indiana for the Sunshine State, but when I do, I gather my brothers my father and my sis in law and her kids and we make our trip to the ordinary. I ordered two of the family specials, and some waffle fries, and of course the bread sticks, top notch service. And although I tripped over the side by the front door, I make sure everybody in the place had a good laugh. Don’t forget about the take and bake, yes, I ordered the large deluxe uncooked, & I taking it back to Florida with me.

A family member spotted a live mouse while dining there. I looked up their health inspections and they revealed roaches and rodents. The last one had a dead mouse caught on a glue board and not removed. Kinda yucky!

I’m in love with their pizza. It’s a thin crust with a generous amount of toppings. Had pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, black olive, green pepper, and onion with lots of good ‘ol cheese. Sun King Cream Ale on tap makes it even better. We sat on the bar side, and the guy handling the whole area did a fantastic job staying on top of the full house. If you’ve never been there, this is an old school small town pub/tavern style place. No frills, cozy-tables real close, old type of place in Wanamaker. That’s way southeast side! But how far is too far for what is probably one of the best pizzas in Indianapolis and the surrounding area-maybe even the state.

I was recently able to visit this place, and the pizza was pretty damn good. The toppings were plentiful, the pie was cooked through… Breadsticks were good, wings were sound. Cheese dip was solid, and didn’t quickly congeal into something people would show me on the walls of my arteries… I greatly appreciate that. Went with a few friends, nice friendly dining outing. If I were to complain a little, it would be the fact that I felt like each table around me was a part of my conversation, and even a few folks(one adult, one child) kept bumping their seat into mine. I have no problem with children dining out… It’s a family place for shits sake. My only problem was the tables were so close together… The kid wasn’t acting out, his seat at his table happened to be claiming real estate where my chair, seated at my table was. I’m not giant, but at six foot I need a little room. The service(not the time to deliver the pie) could have been a little quicker, and slightly more attentive. I’d much rather have a carry out meal from here than eat in. While we waited for a table I felt like I was in everyone’s way entering the establishment. I’ll eat here again definitely, just hopefully not in prime time.

I can’t believe that I’m going to admit that I had never been to The Ordinary and I grew up in Indiana about 15 minutes away from it!(yikes) We opted to get pizza of course and decided to play it safe with pepperoni. This pizza was amazing and unlike anything I’d ever had! The sauce was incredible and there was a thick layer of pepperoni that was topped with cheese. Thats right, the cheese was ONTOP. The service was pretty good. A lot of young waitresses who a tad bit slow but they were very friendly. The place was packed and there were a lot of people coming in and out to get pizza’s to-go. I will definitely be back and I can’t believe it took me so long to go here.

I live off of 79th and Harcourt Rd(by St Vincent Hospital) and New Bethel Ordinary is well worth the 45 min drive in rush hour traffic to satisfy the craving. Not only is it worth the craving it is well worth the price. They are not stingy with any of the portions or toppings, I think the thinnest thing about their pizzas are the boxes. I love the fact that even with 2 teenagers it can last past one meal. The establishment itsself is roomy, bright, and clean. 5 stars from me all the way!
