Horrible and should be put out of business. Filed a BBB complaint today and saw that there are already 976 complaints before mine for the same reasons. 1. Deceptive business practices. They send advertisements non stop indicating that they are ADT, they are not. ADT does not monitor, service not install these bootleg systems. 2. They promise products that they do not deliver. I was promised smoke detectors, 4 motions, 2 key chains and glass breaks. Received 1 key chain and 1 motion, and a BS story and horrible sales pitch as to why I should pay full price for what I was promised for free. 3. Equipment installed does not function properly. I’ve called over 67 times for them to remove and/or repair this garbage, to no avail. 4. Customer Service is non existent. The«customer service» reps and«loyalty» department are these girls with serious attitude that would like an episode of First 48. All they do is smack their lips and tell you if you don’t like it, don’t pay and they will turn you over to collection. 5. They should be part of a class action lawsuit and need to be shut down. 6. According to one of the employees, when I told them I would be reporting this to Unilocal and BBB they advised me, on a recorded line, that they pay their employees to leave good reviews, so my bad review would go unnoticed. Let’s hope someone reads this and stays away. Yeah, so after the last review(and taking a customer survey) a customer service rep got in touch with me and gave me a phone number to call; told me that they’d make things right. Well, when I called that number and gave my relevant customer info, the person on the other end had no idea who I was or what I was calling about. Had to go through the whole story, the whole list of complaints, again. At which point, the person on the other end told me that«according to my file» a hundred dollar gift card had been issued and would be mailed to me. «Huh?» “A one hundred dollar gift card will be mailed to you.” «Okay. So that’s what its worth to you?» «I’m sorry, sir?» «You acknowledge some degree of wrongdoing. But only a hundred dollars’ worth. That’s it.» «I’m not authorized to do anything else, sir.» «Okay. I don’t care what you can do. I’m an unhappy customer. I got scammed by you guys, and this is me registering a complaint.» «Well, if you like I can forward your complaint to a Customer Loyalty representative.» «Rad. Thanks. Please do.» Anyhow, fast forward a month, and NO gift card in the mail, NO rebate on my bill, and NO contact from a Customer Loyalty representative. Bullshit company. Stay away.

This is an honest employee speaking the truth! As a consumer please beware! You will receive mail constantly. you call the give you a phone scripted sales pitch. they ask for your date of birth(to confirm your identity) then they ask for your social. YES a credit check. They say they cannot see yours core, the can and do always. they also say they send a Licensed boned and insured tech. not a salesman. THEY are commission based sales people. required to SELL $ 650 per home. They say they want to help you grow. but turn over rate exceeds 50%. high pressure to perform… inexperienced management… Just a nightmare Just please BEWARE. and glad it will soon be over. Do Business with them at your own risk! Also listed as Defender Direct, and recently changed the name to DEFENDERS because of the horrible consumer reviews!

I had always used ADT at past houses so i was looking into it when I bought my new house. I came across this dealership in my search. The best thing about PYH is that they gave me a great start up package of free equipment. While talking to them on the phone, they gave me a little extra equipment above and beyond the offer I was given. This helped out a lot because of the size of my house. When the technician came out he was very professional and knowledgeable. He offered me a complete system but also gave me options as to how to cost effectively cover my house. After working together to get a great package, he even gave me another discount on the extras I bought. It was really pleasant working with a technician that knew how everything worked instead of a salesman trying to push unnecessary stuff on me. If you are looking for a top of the line security package and professional installation with the best monitoring around, I suggest you call Protect Your Home with ADT

PYH has been sending me junk mail for a while. I reached out to them(800−374−4094) and asked them to stop, and«Tanya»(#11527) confirmed that she had removed me from all of their distribution lists, and that the junk mail would stop within two weeks. Guess what… It’s been over two MONTHS and they’re still coming. I guess every time I get something in the mail from them, I’ll count it as «a new experience with this business», and will be back to shoot ‘em another 1-star review. F U PYH

DONOT use this company. They showed up late to my house, spent over 3 hours installing 3 door sensors… the whole time making be feel bad that I wasn’t buying $ 2,000 worth of extra equipment. The installer failed to set up my payment account correctly and they would not do anything to correct the matter. Terrible experience. I will say that the person that I dealt with on the ADT side was great… everyone from Protect Your Home has been incompetent.

Don’t do it — I called into this service to sort out a pre-existing ADT issue. They assured me they could help, the technician came to our house. I explained our situation again — He said exactly how he would fix it — I turns out they lied, lied and lied. I talked to their manager who said«they shouldn’t have said any of that». but was unwilling to rectify the situation. Not to mention the installer(salesman) tried every tactic(including scare tactics) to get you to spend THOUSANDS. They lie to your face, misrepresent, and refuse to adhere to ADT’s corporate guidelines. If you are considering this company all I can say is DON’T! Shady operation.

I have installed ADT system with Pulse feature through Protect Your Home in early April 2013. When technician was on site, Pulse was not working on his cell phone. He made up a very good reason. It did not dawn on me that it is not working with AT&T cell phone later when I tried to set it up. In mid-April, I asked the Protect Your Home technician to come out to remove it, but since I still wanted the feature once the problem is fixed, the Technician talked to the supervisor and said they would not go through the trouble of removing it and install again later. They said they would adjust the bill until pulse is working. It turned out that he had not. Today I called Protect Your Home and they refused to adjust it, saying that it had passed the 30-day period of changing the contract. He could see the work order history but passed me on to ADT. TERRIBLE service. Make sure when you install through this company — if pulse is not working when the technician is there, don’t get it. Better yet, install with ADT directly.

While I did have an issue with this company, they did rectify the situation to my satisfaction. However, I found out after the installation that I am better off working directly with ADT because if anything goes wrong, ADT will not charge a service fee for coming out to your home but Protect Your Home will charge a fee.
