Speed Bakery

Super small bakery with lots of yummy looking treats. The kids opted for humongous sugar cookies with sprinkles but they really weren’t super sweet so they didn’t like them. I got a cream filled donut /​roll and it was AWESOME. Unfortunately we didn’t eat these immediately and 2 days later the choc cinnamon twist was pretty hard, as was the cookies.

Speed Bakery is now opened and located between Tacos 46 and Tandy Leather on North High School Road. It is a smaller shop with two double door cases filled with a nice selection of fresh breads and pastries. The flan is located in the fridge case next to cash register. The bakery cases are brightly lit and extremely clean.
The owner is super friendly and offered us a slice of cranberry walnut bread still warm from the oven. Whole wheat flour, cranberries and nuts baked into beautiful, small round loaves was the perfect holiday flavors for guests this morning with coffee. Moist, flavorful bread with a light, tender crust made beautiful loaves tied with a bow for take home gifts. The doughnuts are large, tender and scrumptious whether you pick sugar coated or chocolate iced. His selection also includes a pineapple pastry similar to a pineapple turnover and a hit with the fruit pastry lovers. The bread pudding is a thick, generous portion size with a very slight crunchy topping while moist inside served plain or sauce-​less. We enjoy a sauce over our bread pudding so we added a bourbon and vanilla sauce over ours which is easy enough to whip up.
The bakery is a nice additional to this strip center with friendly and fast service for breads and pastries.
