I have loved this place since it was just a food truck and a spot in the City Market. Now that they have a store front with ample seating, I’m always stoked when I have a chance to stop by. The only improvement I would encourage would be to add more to the menu. I could be wrong, but I think there are only 6 – 8 options, which seems low for a store front in FS.

Ordered the«Bollywood» today which included a spice wrap, chicken tikka and rice. The spice wrap was moist and had tons of chicken inside. The spice wrap came with a side of red sauce but it was more sweet than spicy. The rice and chicken tikka were well-seasoned, but I prefer them to be a bit spicier. Overall it’s a solid portion and tasted good.

If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would. I’m sure that over time — and especially as we enter food truck season(YAAS!) — I’ll give Spice Box a third try and maybe that will change things, but for now I just didn’t have the best experience. I’ve had them at City Market and found their Palak Paneer too spicy for my taste, but I know that’s a regional thing. I came in the afternoon on a work day, so of course the place was empty. The hostess was helpful and explained the menu since it was my first time at this location. Prices seemed reasonable for what you get and I liked the one and two entrée options(comes with rice and naan for $ 7 and 9 $ respectively), but she encouraged trying the tikki tacos, so I went for it! The whole interaction was a little bizarre and rehearsed-seeming. I recognize that this might be a weird thing to «judge», but I found it so trippy that I had to come back up to the counter(I chose the furthest seat by the window) to pick up my food when she called my name despite there being no one there… again, it was all very bizarre. The tacos came quickly but were smoldering — which I can appreciate from a freshness perspective, but didn’t lend to a quick meal. I tried to wait patiently to let it cool off, but come on. Y’all know I was ready to tear into some tacos. The flavors were good but not great. Again too spicy for my taste, despite having chosen the non-spiced rice. My bigger concern was that the taco innards were so watery that in order to stop for both a spiciness/temperature breather, I now had to lay my taco in a small Indian-spice-flavored lake. Am I being too picky? The view from the window is neat — although the doors slamming(literally shaking my seat) next door were a tad distracting. Here’s to hoping third time’s a charm, Spice Box!

This place is delicious. The best meal I’ve ever had? No, but it’s pretty good! The problem with this place is that I feel like within minutes, my food is gone. Maybe if they considered adding bigger portions to their menu I would think about dining here more often. The staff is always friendly, and the place is almost always dead when I go here(prime dinner hours usually too, might I add), so I’m not sure what the deal is. It is a bit pricy for the amount of food you get, in my opinion, but the flavors make up for the lack of actual food there. Good, quick food.

This place is turning into my go to for meals. I crave Indian or Thai food almost daily and when I don’t feel like splurging on typical Indian that will cost $ 20+ I turn to Spice Box. The prices are reasonable and the Tikka Masala is fantastic; order it with the spice rice and ask for the green sauce that comes on the side. Even better; order it to-go and then walk across the street to Hotel Tango and order a delicious drink to go with your meal. That’s perfection!

I originally had spice box when it was a mere food truck but I am excited that they now have a store front in F Square! I got the spice box with chicken tikki and it was delicious! I hope to get back soon and try the other combos as well as the tacos. One of the best highlights? Prosecco on tap! Yes — you read that correctly. The ambiance was fitting and had a good amount of Indian themed movie posters and other types of posters. I’m looking forward to coming here again in the near future!

Great interior décor and vibe of this place! I absolutely loved the feel of this place. Good place for a quick lunch with friends or coworkers if you’re craving Indian food. Overall, food is average, but I’m an Indian so I’m used to authentic Indian food. this isn’t 100% authentic but it does the job of satisfying any cravings and is a different spin on classic Indian food. Definitely would recommend and will probably be coming back!

If you’re expecting a full menu here, you’ll be disappointed, as it offers a food-truck-like selection(which makes sense, since they started as a food truck). I ordered the spice box with two entrees, tikki masala and palak paneer. I upgraded to the spice rice, and my entrée came with naan, as well. The tikki masala was wonderful — not too spicy, great sauce, and yummy on the equally-delicious naan. The palak paneer wasn’t as saucy as I’m used to, but the flavor was good. Just a little stingy with the paneer. I had just three small pieces perched atop my spinach! It’s usually the cornerstone of the dish, not a garnish. My husband ordered the tandori tacos, and they were messy but delicious! They have some heat to them! I’ll definitely be back!

Every time someone suggests Indian food, I’m always like«Eh, I don’t really care for Indian food» then I eat it and I’m like«I need to eat more Indian food» Spice box really makes me rethink my Indian food dilemma. Got the tacos, spicy shrimp and goat on the other, topped it off with a Mango lassi, and a thumbs up drink,(think Tab) everything was delish. They also have a choose 2 options served with rice and naan that looked pretty good. Place was just as legit as the food truck, so to be that consistent is pretty good, located in the old rook location I’ll hit this up in the future.

Spice Box’s Foutain Square location can be found in in Rook’s old spot in the Hinge Building. The décor and furniture is practically the exact same as before. As such, when it gets crowded, it can get loud with the high ceilings, Why Spice Box gets 5 stars: * It’s cheap. After taxes and with a drink, you might spend ~$ 11 * Menu– Simple and to the point. Plus, all of the boxes can be prepared gluten free. Just make sure to ask for no naan * They sell Thums Up and Limca! If you’ve never had either, try it. it’s $ 2 a can, but the fact you can order it, especially in the Midwest is amazing * They are open for longer periods of times than their City Market/Food Truck allowing for a late lunch * Fast and friendly service * They had Prosecco the day I was there. Who associates that with Indian food? * Food isn’t bad. Good for the price you pay. Not overly spicy, but has a nice kick to it. Only downside is the parking. There is street parking available; however, blueindy dominates the better spots.

YUM! That’s my first thought when I think of Spice Box now. I went in for the first time today for lunch and fell in love instantly. Being an Indian I appreciated the little things — the Bollywood movie wallpaper on the ceiling, Thumbs up and Limca for sale, water in the steel pot, and of course some delicious Indian food! I ordered the tacos — one chicken and one channa masala. Both were delicious! I’m excited to come back to try some more stuff! The proportions were great too! It’s nice the get some Indian food that isn’t so expensive. I paid $ 11 for the tacos and a Thumbs Up. Usually when I’m craving Indian food and go out to get some I know I’m at least going to be paying $ 25 for naan, rice, channa masala, and chicken tikka. I’m glad I finally came in to try this place out. Will definitely be back. Oh and the service was great too!

Whether they’re serving from a truck, the City Market or a restaurant, Spice Box knows what’s up. Their perfectly portioned lunch specials(pick 2 items, serve it over rice and add some naan) has been a go-to during cluster trucks on Thursday afternoons at the State Plaza. Their channa masala is my favorite, consisting of chickpeas slow cooked in a broth with veggies. I also like their penchant for writing little remarks on their boxes(i.e. Spice Spicy Baby!). I’m happy that they have a more traditional brick-and-mortar spot in Fletcher Place(a location quickly grabbing up all the best new restaurants in town) and I’ll be back when my next Indian craving hits as I wander my way through FS.

On point. A casual carry out experience, with plenty of tables for dining in. Order at the counter and have a seat. Good music, comfortable, and clean atmosphere. They suggest trying the tacos for first timers, and it’s a good idea. NOTE: THEYWILLSAYITSNOTTHATSPICY, BUTFORTHOSEOFUSWHOTHINKTACOBELLISSPICY, THISISOBVIOUSLYSPICIERTHANTHAT. Although the naan helps with that. Will for certain be back.

I’ve done all you can do when it comes to Spice Box — food truck, the booth at City Market, and now, their new physical store location. I’ve always been impressed with the food and service and am excited to sing their praises. I think this new place in Fletcher Place would be the perfect spot for a lunch meeting or a place to get work done. I grabbed my order to go on my visit, but still noticed the comfortable space, nice availability of drink options(they have beer, and I think wine? but don’t quote me on that), etc. I decided to be boring went with my usual order — chicken tikki and and palak paneer, with spiced rice and naan. It was a filling and delicious lunch. I was also pleased to discover from the owner(nicest, chattiest guy ever, by the way!) that Spice Box is now participating in Order Up. You heard me right, Indian food, delivered to my door, without having to change out of my pajamas! Next time, I’m definitely ordering delivery and definitely getting the channa.

I love everything about Spice Box and you will too once you eat their food! Most people know them for their infamous Spice Wraps, but I’m a huge fan of their Naan Taco. Their mango lassi is a refreshing treat to top off a flavorful meal. Friendly staff and eclectic space, I love visiting Spice Box!

It’s beyond great that this little food truck that could now has two permanent locations(the other is in City Market). With this expansion into the Fountain Square area they finally have a spot that’s open until 8 or 9PM — gone are the days when you would have to carefully hoard an extra box from lunch and pray you didn’t get the munchies in the early afternoon. Their naan remains the best naan in Indiana.

My gosh, Spice Box, I am glad that we are new neighbors. Welcome to the neighborhood! As with their other locations, I like their unusual twist on Indian cuisine, like the naan wrap. At the same time, the entrée options are just as delicious on their own. My favorite is the palak. Fast comfort food for a great price, served by patient and welcoming staff — I’ll be a regular here for sure!

If you like the City Market location(and I do!) you’ll like Spice Box’s new Fletcher Place spot as well — as they told me on my visit today, the only difference is that goat is now on the menu. I didn’t try it in my tacos(yes, tacos at an Indian place — gotta remember they were originally a food truck) but I’m excited to give the goat a chance in the future, especially given how excited they seemed to be about it. Delicious food served quickly in a super laid-back environment(a nice change from the bustle of the city market) with some of the friendliest and most helpful employees I’ve had the pleasure to meet. I really look forward to all my inevitable future visits!

Brunch, bakery, massage, tortas, distilleries– could Fletcher Place get any better? I certainly think not. Welcome to the neighborhood, Spice Box! We’ve been patiently waiting for you. I had the pleasure of chowing with Jon C. at Spice Box last week(opening week). My order consisted of the channa masala(mild chick pea stew), naan and spice rice(has garlic and a little more pizzazz than the other rice option). The food was delicious and very filling for less than $ 10. They also have beer and wine available at this location. If you’re familiar with Rook’s décor(former tenant), it is nearly the exact same but it fits Spice’s style beautifully. One note: I’m hoping they plan to switch over to real plates(even if plastic) for their in-house orders to reduce on waste and create a more relaxed/not rushed eating experience.

Well, hello there Spice Box. Look at you sneaking into Fletcher Place and taking over Rook’s former location. The place doesn’t look too much different. walls are the same, lights are the same, but the food is about 10 times better. I stopped in with a friend for lunch today and was pleased to see all of my favorites. plus goat on the menu. Okay, so I probably won’t be eating the goat anytime soon, but I’m glad it’s there for those who wish to partake. Spice Box, you’re a welcome addition to the neighborhood, and I’ll be seeing you for dinner soon!
