I’ve stopped into Sully’s Bar a couple of times now after work with some friends. Both times have been during the week; the most recent trip was on a Tuesday evening. Around 6ish there were about 12 people around the bar and a couple of others playing pool. There is a very large oval shaped bar area as soon as you walk in. To the far left is the pool table area with a couple of Goldentee games also. High top tables are scattered throughout with wait staff attending to these. We have found it easier however to just walk up to the bar and order your drink. The beer selection is your typical dive bar fare, with Miller, Bud, and Coors. They also have Shocktop thrown in there. It is, however, very cheap to drink here as they have specials every day. You will have to double check with the bartender though, on what exactly the specials are as we picked out not 1, or 2, but 3 signs that list different specials for the week. On Tuesday they have $ 2.50 domestic bottles or $ 2.00 domestic pints. As I have only ever ordered the wings here, I can’t speak of the quality of the rest of the food. The wings are decent sized(much bigger than Bdubs) and the buffalo sauce is great. The wait staff and the bartenders were all very friendly to us. As the night wore on and it got busier, we seemed to see less and less of the waitress. This goes back to my earlier statement about how it is just easier to order from the bar, especially if you are up playing pool or Goldentee. I have to give special recognition to Ashley behind the bar as she kept me well stocked. I didn’t even have to request another drink. She saw my bottle was empty and immediately brought me another without having to ask. I thought it was great. All in all, your typical strip-mall bar complete with beer and adequate bar food. I will be going back.

This joint is still mediocre. Service is absolutely abysmal. I sat at the bar in hopes of getting at least a little service, but that was no help at all. The lone bartender/waitress was more intent on hanging out and chatting with an off-duty waitress than serving the 10 people sitting around the bar with empty beer bottles. She must be filthy rich as she was not the least bit concerned with making any money on a Tuesday night. Food also comes out a glacial pace. I overhead a guy ask if the kitchen has killed the chicken in his order yet because he had been waiting for a long time. When my food finally came out, it was clear the fries were straight out of the freezer and their famous burger was cooked to past well done. To top it off, no silverware was offered to me(all I got was a pile of napkins).

Sully’s Bar, formerly Claude & Annie’s for a couple decades, hasn’t changed. If you were a C&A customer you’ll recognize the interior and layout since all remains the same. New sign on front of the building but that’s all folks. Two entrances and parking still in front and back of building. Pool tables, dart boards, games, jute box with tall top tables are to the left of front entrance, extremely large bar in center with a few tall top tables on back side of bar with the right side of building still for bands, DJ, dance floor with tables and booths. Friday night a group performed but we preferred the jute box which continues to play(with $‘s) on pool side while band is playing and doesn’t usually interfere with either side. The mixed drinks are reasonable and beers are cheap here but they ONLY carry the basic Miller, Bud and Coors. Several of our group ask for Sun King, Flat 12, any IPA and the bartender said it just doesn’t sell at Sully’s. Our group of 10 would have changed that if available. Hopefully the demand will change that. The long islands haven’t changed and still popular drink with our group if your not into their beers. Our bartender was super friendly and she appeared to be the only one working Friday till later on. When she had a chance she’d bus our tables and check on us but honestly it’s always been easier to order from end of bar if you’re in the pool area and your waitress is the bartender handling everything. In the past this was the local neighborhood bar and packed almost every night but especially Thursday through Sundays. That appears to be the only change we saw Friday night. Other than our loud, drunk, crazy group the pool side was empty with a few folks on the band side but the bar itself had a decent following. This use to be a HEAVY smokers bar and you could cut the smoke but of course that has changed. Unfortunately the lingering stale smoke odor remains if you’re sensitive to that but a HUGE improvement from the past. C&A had some decent bar food in past but we didn’t order Sully food so I can’t speak to that yet. Still a good spot for groups with large game area for competitive folks, 6 pool tables and cheap drinks. We’ll be back since this is close for the work group of friends.
