As a kid growing up in a small town north of Indy, for some reason I was obsessed with the Vogue. My mom used to take us for rides through Indy as kids(my mom was more of a shopper than a ‘do-something’ mom. We didn’t really go to things, just drove past them), and she was a photographer. I remember begging her to take a pic of me under the Vogue sign one evening. I don’t even remember who was there. Anyhoo… As an adult I have been here a handful of times. One time was for Eagles of Death Metal(of Le Bataclan attack) with now defunct local band State in 2008. Most recently was for the Salt n’ Pepa show. First, somehow enlarge the coat area. I know they ran out of space. Also, you can only check one coat per hanger for $ 4. Maybe allow a $ 6 for two coats per hanger? We tried to do two coats on one and they would not allow it. Secondly, the VIP area was a joke. It was to the side, and the people were obnoxious. We were getting into arguments with people who were a) pushing us aside to get to it; b) arguing with people trying to get in via the blocked-by-a-table area. Unfortunately, that is where we were standing. Also unfortunately, the people kept pushing past us to get in that ‘non’ entrance. I could have gotten in to the VIP area. If you don’t want people getting in that way, maybe create a better rail that encloses the whole area. I also paid $ 7.50 for an absolut vodka beverage, and literally watched her pour me a well vodka, which was not even listed on the drink list. I specifically said«absolut.» She also tried to pour it to the side, so as not to be noticed. Enjoyable show, but the opening act was literally more than two times longer than Salt n’ Pepa, which is not the venues fault, I know.

It’s really simple. Don’t have a winter event unless you have a large enough coat check.

Each time I’m here, it reminds me that my college days are far behind me. The shows I’ve attended have been outstanding but man this is not my scene anymore. I do appreciate the availability of local craft beer at the upstairs bar. It’s a bit pricey but it’s so much better than well drinks and domestic. Keep booking great stuff, and I’ll keep dragging my tired self out at stupid hours of the night to enjoy the show.

Super cool venue! I was here as part of a work trip and got to see Keller Williams. The servers and bartenders were great as well.

I went here the other night for a Lord Huron concert and had a great time! Not being from the area, I took a risk in driving the hour+ drive each way but wasn’t disappointed. I’ve been to many smaller concert venues before, and this one is right on par with all of them. Yes, it will be crowded, yes it will be hot and yes it will be loud. That’s what a concert is! If you are used to a larger venue(max for this is 1600), then this isn’t the scene for you. That being said, the show i went to was probably close to sold out but I was still able to find good viewing(which is no short order, being under 5’5″!) There is a bar upstairs and down and both seemed adequately staffed, along with some waitresses that would circulate to the tables along the walls. BIG plus: the bathrooms were large enough to accomodate probably 8 – 10 stalls. I never had to stand in line, which isn’t always the case at some of these venues! The sound quality was good — yes there are large speakers that can block some of the view, but that really isn’t a deal breaker for me. The staging of the show I was at was impressive — I don’t know if Lord Huron was very specific about their lighting and smoke effects or what, but it was a really tight set with great stage effects. I am sure from crowd to crowd, show to show everyone’s experience varies, but for me there was nothing to complain about — it was pretty standard fare. Helpful hint: there is parking(SUPER cheap) in a garage across the street. I could see how it would get backed up when everyone heads to it, but i got out pretty quickly. You can pay in cash at the lobby, but lifepro tip: the actual machine you feed the ticket into to get the gate to open accepts credit cards. So, avoid the lines at the machine and get out easy peasy.

Citizen Cope was great, as usual, but the venue was lacking so the performers were put out by lighting and sound problems.

I never go out for a night of drinking and dancing with high expectations but I had a BLAST at The Vogues Retro Rewind last night. The music was awesome, the staff was friendly and prompt. If you don’t mind a crowded dance floor and a few/lot of spilled drinks make your way over to The Vogue and shake what your mama gave you! ;)

I came from Nashville, TN. To see Paul Weller and the staff could not have been nicer. I Love love them. Great venue

Okay. So I will preface this that I went on a different kind of night. Not a dance party night. I went for Todd Snider(or rather Sarah Potenza who was opening for Todd). So it was sit down. The line was started an hour prior to doors opening. Once the doors opened the line moved fairly quickly. You can buy your ticket online and pick it up there or print it or even use passbook on your iPhone. It didn’t seem like the cleanest place and the setup seems a bit strange. The bartenders weren’t horrible like other reviews claimed, however. One even told a couple that were wanting their card back(they’d opened a tab) to get money from the ATM(for merchandise) that he could swap it for their ID so they wouldn’t have to wait or close out their tab… Which seemed nice. My main complaint is just the cleanliness. A guy in the front row spilled some alcohol on the floor and it never got cleaned up. Just became an ever expanding pool under his seat flowing to the row behind him. The look of the floor told me that happens a lot.

Just bought my ticket to the new pornographrrs concert. The vogue is such an awesome venue and I love coming here still. Two stories with a huge bar downstairs and drinks available upstairs. I like hanging out on the dance floor and getting crazy.

The Vogue is a smaller, more intimate concert space with standing room leading all the way up to the front of the stage. Really there is hardly a bad seat/spot in the place. There are some tables along the periphery of the room as well as up in the balcony– but seating goes quickly! If you do get a table you are attended to by the wait staff which is convenient. One of the best parts about going to a concert at the Vogue is its close proximity to great bars and restaurants in Broad Ripple. There is also a parking garage across the street which is convenient, but there is often issues with the ticketing/payment which results in a long line to get out of the garage.

I would actually rate this place at 3 and half stars. I’m not a huge fan of the venue itself. The staff is just ok, the place always smells like bleach, and the bar is too hectic. Not crazy about the layout either because at points in can be hard to see, but it is what it is. Despite these flaws what I adore and appreciate most is the variety of local and national artists with reasonable ticket prices. They also have the coolest marquee in town. I am always in awe of their concert line up. They seriously host some amazing acts that might not get a shot at other local venues such as Allen Stone, Mayer Hawthorne, Sharon Jones, Who’s Bad, a fantastic Michael Jackson cover act. Tonight I went to the Red Bull national DJ battle. GREAT event overall. Despite the flaws, as long as they keep booking great acts, I will be there!

Beer is too expensive and bartenders won’t give you water. They want you to pay $ 3 for a bottle of water. Management needs to change their policies. Won’t be coming back anytime soon.

Awesome band tonight but awful bar. The management has clearly set some awful standards for the bartenders. No water available unless you want to pay $ 3 for a bottle. Water should be free. And don’t think about getting a beer; you’re looking at $ 10. I might expect that in Las Vegas or NY, but this is Indiana, folks. At least let me get a water without paying an arm and a leg. We’re not planning on coming back. We will wait for our band to play somewhere that treats customers well.

Bar is pretty run down and gross. $ 25 cover, bad drinks, coat check stole my gloves just after the first time I wore them. We stayed for about 45 minutes. It’s a good idea not to stay late at this bar. Shootings, fights, and other thuggish activity are fairly common here as it gets later in the evening.

Meh. There’s not much about this bar that impresses me anymore. It needs to be remodeled and the drinks need to be made better.

The Vogue is a great place to see a show. I walked all over the room and the sound and sight lines were good everywhere. I don’t really know what else needs to be said about a club besides that. It didn’t smell bad. Security was cool. The stage could be higher. There’s kind of a lot of primo space dedicated to the bar, but whatever. Any issues are trivial. Parking in the garage across the street is an absolute no-brainer and worth the cost for the ease and security. The surrounding area has quite a lot to offer. Come in early to check out the neighborhood. I went to Alley Cat Lounge for some food before I got on the road to go home. That’s a good thing to do. Do that. Now that I know, I hope I can visit again soon. Four stars.

I went to the Vogue for a country concert so I’m sure my experience was different than most of the other bands that play there. The venue was okay, loved the fact that there was a good amount of seating and the upstairs was nice for overflow. Only 3 stars because the ATM didn’t work and I needed cash for the coat check and then the women’s bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, like water(hopefully) all over the floor. Gross. If I go again it will have to be for another country concert where I know it won’t be as crowded, can’t imagine what it was like for Snopp!

Oh, the Vogue. I do have such a kinda love/kinda hate relationship with you. I can’t believe I have now been coming here a few times a year for over 5 years! Part of me really thinks you deserve a 3 star review but since this is the place my favorite cover bands choose to perform, I will give you the 4th star. Let’s start with the positives… easy to find and access in Broad Ripple, quick moving lines which is key when it is freezing outside. Most importantly, the musical acts they have brought in here. We try and make it out here whenever we can for when our favorite cover bands are performing. [Sixteen Candles and Hairbanger’s Ball are awesome! Only a $ 5 cover, yea!] We also came here once for one of our favorite bands, Hurt, and it was amazing! Great venue for the band and could even see the stage well from the balcony. Just a bit lame that it was a weeknight! I will say that in the last few visits there, the bartenders have been as fast and friendly as you can expect when busy which is nice. Another thing to note, they really seem to have upped their security in recent years which helps keep the main floor from getting too crazy late night. Middle of the road… dance nights. Dance nights are exactly what they sound like, loud music, lots of random lights and dancers on the stage… sometimes it can get really weird. Let’s just leave it at that. This isn’t my go-to dance place since they usually charge a cover and the crowd can be very… interesting but it isn’t a terrible option either. Bad…drink«specials» are all over the place. Ugh, Vogue. You know we want to drink while listening to these bands and thus your specials are disappointing as are the standard priced drinks. In years past, my standard«drink special» drink was a small cup with a small amount of Captain for $ 3 or more. Bah! However, there was one magical evening where they had some kind of promotion going on and a few brands were only $ 2 and my bartender made them right! It was fantastic and I tipped him well. But my haze of happiness was shattered the next time when the special was a $ 4 disappointing, small drink. I don’t expect crazy good specials on a weekend in Broad Ripple but I don’t like paying big money for a small cup of ice. They have also started spraying confetti a lot during the last couple of Sixteen Candles concerts, which is fun the first time but gets weird when the floor becomes crazy covered in it and you are constantly having to guard your drink from falling confetti. So random. I wish they’d offer better deals and maybe I’d come here before the show for a few drinks, but alas, that is not the case. But I’ll be back for your music and overpriced drinks, dear Vogue.

Saturday nights are always a good time at the vogue. Unfortunately, it’s no longer free cover with a college ID. Ladies are also not free any more. But… if you get lucky they will have a sale on bottle service. $ 100 for a bottle of absolute is just too hard to resist.
