Much improved! The«boys» are back and efficiently running the place. Now called The Garden Deli!

Came here for a solo lunch between an evaluation and a massage on the north side. I ordered the veggie bean salad with black and garbanzo beans, feta, corn, tortilla strips, and dried mango with an avocado ranch. Sadly they didn’t have the dried mango(which was honestly what I was looking forward to the most) so I subbed in mandarin oranges. It worked. The avocado ranch was very yummy but I’m glad I got it on the side because I was watching the line workers and they had a tendency to be very heavy handed with the dressing. Just an FYI! Alright overall. It does get slammed at lunch time and it took me a good 15 – 20 minutes to get my salad. Also, the price was a tad steep but it was all kinds of fresh and yummy so that worked for me.

Not sure what happened to this location. They used to have two Hispanic guys running it at lunch. They were FAST and courteous and always on the ball. Last week I went in at 1 for lunch and there was a line to the door and one new person making food and in no hurry. I left. Today we went in and it was two new people and they again were NOT in any hurry. We placed our order and half way down the line he tells us they are out of pico de gallo. Uh, isn’t that pretty much in about every wrap?! We left and will not be back to this location. If the owner is reading this, bring back the guys with the skills!

The salads are always good. Don’t bother emailing your order, it will generally be completed incorrectly and there always seems to be a bit of inconsistency with price when I do. The selection is good as far as toppings go. If you’re ok with paying $ 10 for a salad. you’ll enjoy this place.

Last week my wife and I were on the north side of town and due to some dietary changes my wife is working on we decided to stop into When Eddie Met Salad to give it a try. A friend of mine said he ate there quite frequently and it was a good choice. As other reviewers have stated it follows the same general pattern as a Subway, Chipotle, Qdoba or Moe’s. A variety of fresh ingredients that can be mixed and matched with others to create your main entrée. Obviously the focus here is on salads, but they also have wraps. For this visit I got the Bangin’ Shrimp Salad. Small salad shrimp quickly seared in a panini press and then tossed with a spicy sauce(like you get at Bonefish Grill). The salad ingredients include a southwestern mix of jalapenos, pico de gallo, grilled corn kernals and black beans. The salad was actually very good. My wife enjoyed hers as well. I only gave three stars because there’s nothing really out of the ordinary special about this place, but it’s a good choice for something different and perhaps a little healthier than many of your other fast food choices. If I ran a restaurant like this though I’d try to have a lot more variety of ingredients on hand and really let people go wild. There’s really too few good salad bar options available anymore. Anyone remember when every Wendy’s had a good salad bar? Might also be nice to have salad options for people that are just purchased by weight for those that just need a light, quick and affordable meal.

Four stars because you got rid of the antipasto salad, Edward! WHATGIVES! So, here’s the beef, I’ve been eating from this place in its various locations since it first opened a few years ago and I love it. The ingredients are quality, totally fresh, and the available options are more than comprehensive. It is the dressings, however, that causes these salads to really stand out. nay, that causes these Salads to really stand out. Many a time have I eaten there and declared ‘Salad has no RIGHT to taste so good!’. I’m a fan of salad, but it is unheard of for me to be hankering after chipotle ranch dressing or wasabi ranch dressing. When Eddie Met Salad is essentially a salad bar where you don’t serve yourself and you only go up once. You can pick from a selection of just a few salads, or make your own. I tend to get the Ensalada(which I hate ordering the Ensalada Salad at the salad place. Feels ridiculous. Couldn’t it have been give another name, Eddie? So stupid) and sub out the green peppers for jalapeño and add bacon. There’s bacon there, and I believe every salad and food object should be covered in it, so I always get it. If I make my own, The chipotle sauce or bangin’ sauce(think ‘bang bang shrimp a la bonefish) are always good. I mean, you might be thinking to yourself ‘so? it’s just salad?’ and you’re thinkging wrong. it is Salad with a Capital S. A meaty vegetabley dream covered in amazing dressings and custom made to suit your every whim and wonder. So don’t be a chump, go have a salad.

It’s like Subway, only with salads and wraps. The salad was pretty good — better than I was expecting — but it’s a tiny bit pricey, and the atmosphere is pretty uninspiring. I doubt I would return.
