Lisa Renee was the BEST waitress! Love the ambience here. Food was delicious had the southern shrimp plate, appetizer, Ragin Cajun steam pot was bomb! Must try :)

Absolutely trash. Ate there Saturday night. Place was empty. Creepy ambiance. Service was overall wierd. Crab cakes sampler was bad but not as bad as the crab cake burger. It was inedible. Pretty sad what happened to this franchise. Will never return.

Food was good. Service was awesome. Our waiter accomodated the special order(shrimp salad with lemon wedges). Family enjoyed their food. No leftovers remained. They enjoyed surf n turf burger and sunset fire grill. I recommend my favorite, stuffed mushrooms.

Oh my god I was not going to do a review because their service is great but I need to because they are so skimpy with their food they serve you very little they have that all you can eat crab on Wednesdays but they serve you 3 pieces small skinny pieces for like $ 30 not even worth it because they bring it to you by small portion so that you can continue to ask or hesitate not to I don’t mind spending on a good meal but I hate to spend a lot and still leave hungry it was my son’s birthday and I took him there and we had to stop by to go get something else to eat. So overall would I go there again heck no I rather go to Red Lobster I will spin around the same but they’re not skimpy

Horrible service!!! I came back because the first time I dinned here, years ago, it was an awesome experience(food was great and the workers even danced for the whole restaurant, I left happy). This time was totally different, The moment I walked in I felt invisible, nobody was standing to greet us and we stood there for at least 5 mins. When we got seated, the bartender came to take our order and although he seemed nice, it felt like he didn’t really give a shit what we said. He didn’t even write down our order hence our entrees were not what we wanted. My steak was dry when I asked for«medium» and one of my side dishes changed. I didn’t complain because I didn’t want to wait another 30 mins for my food. Each time we were checked on, it was a different waitress. We ended up being there for 2 hrs when we finally got our check that we had to ask the manager for. I will never come back here!!!

Bad experience last week. This is the first time we didn’t sit in the bar area, and the waiter thought he’d be a smartass by telling us that it «looked like we weren’t all there» while we were asking questions about the sides for our order. I felt like asking him who the f*** is he to be saying that, but kept my cool. He then started to repeat the questions we were asking as if he thought he was being funny, while in reality was very frustrating and annoying… not to mention unprofessional. Finally, we order beers, and he asks for our I.D.‘s…then has the nerve to tell my friend that her I.D. is «too damaged» and he doesn’t think he can accept it while you can clearly tell that the I.D. is legit, and is just old. We asked to speak with the manager, who walked over minutes later and had to take a quick look at her ID and immediately realized it was good. About ten minutes later, we finally received our beers… then about 15 – 20 minutes later ALMOST received our food… the girl bringing us the food realized that they had put the wrong sides with our food, so she took the food back. About 10 minutes after that, a different worker brought our food out but only to realize that our crab wasn’t as warm because it had been out til we got the proper sides. After we finished, we had to ask the waiter 2x for the bill… after about 10 minutes, and no still no bill… my friend had to get up and walk over to ask the waiter again for the bill… I had a hard time wondering if he was just very slow, or just being an asshole. I truly hope that was his first night on the job. He is a smart boy for not charging us for the 2 beers… Otherwise we wouldn’t have left a tip. What was supposed to be a fun time with friends, turned into a frustrating experience, with half ass food, and very poor service

Decided to go for lunch today after the kids Basketball game. So glad we did, the kids got the Captain’s Catch, just enough food for them and they love it. My wife got the Sunset Fire grilled shrimp and I got the Ragin Cajun Steam pot. Both were very good. If there was a complaint, my wife thought the sides with her meal could have been more, kind of on the small side. The décor at this Joe’s is typical Joe’s fashion, the quirky signs and fun shack style design. The staff is very friendly, our server was great, took care of us very well. We love Joe’s Crab Shack, but they closed the one we used to always go to in Ventura. So we normally had been going to the one in Redondo Beach. Did not realize this one existed. Glad we found it, it is much easier to get to this location, rather than dealing with the traffic trying to get down to Redondo Beach. Plus there is free parking at this location, they charge in Redondo. We will be coming to this Joe’s from now on, love the food, staff is great, it is casual and great for kids and easy to get to, right off the 60 freeway.

DONOTEATTHEIRRAWOYSTERS!!! 3 out of the 10 people in our party ate raw oysters and we are still 4 days later sick as dogs with stomach pains. The service was terrible and my apple pie dessert was frozen in the middle and it was supposed to be a warm apple pie with ice cream on top. The ice cream never even melted. When I told the server about it he got attitude with me. But forget the dessert, the food was horrible! I went to this place about 5 yrs ago and it was 1000 times better than it is now! This might explain why on a Saturday night this place was empty. Proceed with caution!

Disapointed with the food and service here. My wife and I recently have been chowing down on the AYCE crab special on Wednesdays at the location by Disneyland but decided to come here because we realized it was closer to our home. Long story short, we got about 3 refills in almost 2 hours and the service overall was very poor with drink refills seeming to last an eternity. The crab portions were small to begin with and not seasoned well. The restaurant was dead, our table, another table of 2, and a party of 8 or so on our entire half of the restaurant. I would not like to imagine how the service and food have been if they were actually slammed. A completely different experience from the Garden Grove/Anaheim location.

Came here looking to chow down on some crab and seafood. Ordered some drinks waiting for a feadt to come. Was disappointed with the crab legs and lobster. I guess I had higher expectation especially for the prices. All in all it was a pleasant experience but I dont think I would be coming back.

Customer service so bad!!! It was my 1st there and my friends and we waited almost 40 mins for our food to come. Then when it finally came its like a lil portion of whatever. And their manager that seems like he has no emotions while talking didnt do anything but offer a free apperizer coupon as if we have still plans to come back. I just hate it. I wish the $ 80 we spent that christmas day is worth it. But its not and its dissappointing. Boiling crab, kickin crab and crawfish are way way way way better than this joe’s crab. Not recommendable to come here

My first time @joes and I trully enjoyed it! My group consisted of 3adults and 3kids we were there right at 1130am and glad to see we were the first group there because within minutes its started getting packed. From the moment we stepped in we were greeted with a smile and pleasantries. Our server SUE was very nice and offered so many options to make our experience worthwhile. She knew the Menu and offered the seasonal specials for us to try. She was very attentive, polite and all servers were always willing to help. Loved the attention, the food, the price and bathrooms were very clean;which is a pet peeve of mine! WILLBECOMINGBACK!!!

I love taking my friends here on their birthday. The staff here normally do I very good job in surprising the birthday person but the service to perform today a little disappointing. Normally they have the whole staff come and sing the birthday song together but today only a few staff were participating.

Really salty and pricey based on the quality of the food. And we went in during happy hour time, but the waitress told us they don’t have it. Till later we saw a sign, clearly stating it’s happy hour. But oh well. The sampler starter is good with some cheese ball and crab cake dip, love that. The pot, the seafood are kinda small and doesn’t feel as good.

Last night was the first night I’ve been to Joe’s Crab Shack in quiet some time. I came only once before around the time the place first opened. Since It’s been over 10 years since I was last here, and I didn’t remember much from my previous visit, I was basically coming into this with fresh eyes. The décor of the place is nice for an American style restaurant. It’s has random marine and coastal items and animals on the walls. The most memorable being the shark hanging overhead taking a bite out of the surfboard. The restaurant had a lot of guests for a Saturday night, but was not overly packed or crowded. There were still a handful of open tables. My group of seven got a table in less than five minutes, which was great. The place has a wonderfully friendly vibe. Atmosphere seems very upbeat and jolly — good for happy hour with friend as well as a family outing with guests and children. Our server Nicole was wonderful, she was very attentive in replacing our finished drinks and took care of our party, so she gets 5 stars. I can’t say the same for the food though… I ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich. My logic being you don’t go to Joe’s Crab Shack and not order crab. I thought since crabs is what they do, it will end up being good… The sandwich arrived on a scolding hot plate(second degree burn level hot), which was odd because while the food was warm, it was not nearly as hot as the plate. I felt bad for poor Nicole who had to carry that out. My sandwich arrived deconstructed: bun, shredded lettuce, tomato, and spicy sauce all on the side and had to be added and put together by me. Simple food like a sandwich that has some assembly required is something I heavily frown upon while dining out. My friends ordered the Surf-n-Turf Burger and minus the top bun off to the side(which is acceptable) the rest of their burger arrived fully assembled. Furthermore, the bun my sandwich came with looked wrinkly and rather unappetizing. I uploaded a photo, you be the judge. As for taste, while it was not bad, it also was not good — it was the definition of mediocre. It had no memorable or distinct crab flavor and I would not recommend you try this unless you want something bland tasting. The fries were the highlight of the dish and I ended up wishing that there were more. When your side outshines your main entrée that is a problem. Maybe it was just a bad order choice on my part. I had another friend who ordered and really enjoyed the Balls of Fire. I would come back one more time to try something else off their menu, but if the food is below average again, I would not return back here. With so many other excellent four and five star food options within a five mile radius of Joe’s, they have some work to do in stepping up their game. I give Joe’s 2.5 stars. Food was slightly below average.

Came here on a Saturday evening before 9pm with a group of 7 and we were actually seated fairly quickly. This is my 3rd overall visit since their opening many years go. Waitress was friendly, attentive and asked was helpful in asking us if we needed anything. She deserved 5 stars. I ordered the Southern Stuffed Shrimp entrée. The plate included 9 pieces of bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with seafood, and hot sauce. It also came with rice, hushpuppies, broccoli, and dipping sauce. This dish was ALOT more spicier than I thought. I began to sweat towards the end. I’d eat this again assuming it’s less spicy. If not, I’d try something else.

I’ve been to this place on a few different occasions. None of the times stood out as spectacular. Most recently, came here on a Saturday night with my boyfriend as he was craving seafood. For a Saturday night during dinner when every other place is packed, this place wasn’t… We were seated immediately in a booth and a few moments passed before our waitress came by. She was… okay… had a sarcastic attitude. I’m not sure if that was just her or if she was having a bad day… but it was not a happy perky attitude that makes you go, «this place is awesome». Anyways, we came for the seafood as it was close and convenient. We both ordered the steampots. The steampots themselves are not horribly priced but portions are not all that big. It’s generally enough if you are not a particularity big eater… but if you are really hungry, it will probably not fill you up. I ordered the Joe’s classic steampot and my boyfriend ordered the orleans steampot. For appetizer we had the popcorn shrimp. The food took a while to come out and it was not all that hot was it came out either. My steampot was not a steaming pot, in fact some of the food felt like it was on the cold side. I didn’t make a big deal as it wasn’t all that big of a deal to me… but honestly, you would expect a steampot to be really hot! The seafood tasted okay to me and not all that fresh either. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just frozen seafood that was steamed and that’s the reason why it was not all that hot and did not taste really fresh either. I didn’t taste my boyfriends orleans pot as it was mostly crawfish and I don’t really eat that. The popcorn shrimp however did taste good. The fries it came with were really salty though. Would I come here again? Probably not. I only came here when other people want to come here because I don’t think the seafood here is all that great. My boyfriend wanted to try it so we went. The seafood here isn’t all that fresh and neither is the service. The atmosphere is very casual and there’s a full bar as well. I like my seafood to be really fresh so I think I’ll be venturing somewhere else next time there’s a seafood craving or buy it from the market and cook at home instead.

The pictures on the menu is deceiving. I wish we got more seafood for the price. I wish it was more saucey. It tasted pretty bland. I had to make salt and pepper with lime and dipped the seafood. The crab meat fries were amazing. The clam chowder was warm… which is embarrassing. First and last visit. It was a fun environment and a cool place to try. But not worth the money.
